Thanks, using my Gucci Nexus on XDA premium
Phone: Galaxy Nexus ROM: AOKP build 39 Kernel: 3.0.34 - Cyangenmod Recovery: ClockworkMod Recovery Launcher: TouchWizUx Additions: S3 Addon (update 14.06.2012)

Vidtrim has some features such as cropping to make it shorter. Not 100% sure if u can lower the quality to send as SMS.

I looked into this but could find no suitable way to do it on the phone itself. I either transfer the file to my computer than shrink it there and email it to the recipient or just send it as an email attachment instead of mms.

use the galaxy nexus native movie editing app called "movie studio"
use the galaxy nexus native movie editing app called "movie studio" . just import the video file and export it in a lower quality file size...I found it to be quite helpful as even the lowest quality barley made it less clear and dramatically decreased the file size. WIN WIN situation

MMS video

Hello all
I can't seem to figure out how to text a video. on my galaxy s 2 I would just reduce the video resolution so that it would fit in a mms message but the nexus will not let me reduce video size small enough in order to text it. Basically I can't figure out how to mms video at all
any ideas? Am I doing something stupid

Built in photo editer resizes photos

Any one notices it automatically resizes the photo? Hope there is away to disable that.

I was just going to post a new thread about this but you beat me to it. It is quite annoying having the original 2592x1944 image being resized to a measly 1280x960. it seems a little pointless having this quite powerful in-camera editing facility being spoilt by reducing the output resolution so much...
it does the same with the video editor too

Contact photos -terrible quality!

Has anyone noticed how the contact photos are very pixely and poor quality? I can confirm that the photos from Facebook are not like this which is were it is pulling them from.

Yes I did for whatever reason hi res pictures will be converted to low res once they're in Google account!? Any way to prevent this from happening?

I believe a fix for that is announced, but no idea when it will be finished.
Download an app called Haxsync from the Play Store. It will use the high resolution images. Works like a charm.

^^ This!
Once you set all of your contact photos with high quality ones use titanium backup and backup contacts/calls. Now if you flash a new rom you then just restore this and it puts the high quality photos back.
I tried that app but my photos remained low quality.. Perhaps because I use friend caster pro instead of official Facebook app?

I am also a friendcaster and Haxsync user, my phone won't change the picture unless i manually change the display picture after sync with Haxsync.
hope this helps
Thanks Kelvin. I have so many contacts manually changing each one would takes ages.

Blurry YouTube?

Anyone having issues getting YouTube go be full resolution after the latest update? Check out how the lines of the M are all wavy! What gives?!
Touch the video. In the lower right corner of the video screen is an expansion icon. Press it to expand to the full Nexus 7 screen.
Nexus 7 (2013)
I believe the new YouTube app is only using 720 rather than 1080.

That's probably it. I'm using the old YouTube app with a mod that allows you to choose the quality settings. And it's much better than the new YouTube in terms of playback quality. I hope Google addresses this. Or hopefully someone will mod the new YouTube app to allow us to set the quality.

I hope so too, this is unacceptable. Especially right after the release of their flagship tablet with the highest pixel density.... I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this...
I didn't back up the old version and I can't restore... Any chance you would post the apk for an older version?
Or link to that mod?
Edit: found it

[APP] Efficent Free App for Call Recording.

With my experience of using call recorders, The best I have come across is Androrec. It is THE most lightweight and hassle free experiences I've had with call recordings. Just a 46k download
The max limits I've tested this app are recordings of calls from mere seconds to about 1h42m long call. Works perfectly. File sizes are great. Take a rough estimate of about 1mb for crystal clear MP4 audio for 10 mins.Exact sizes are,
1. 2mb for 22m03sec recording in format MP4
2. 5mb for 54m08sec recording in format MP4
It also allows recording in AMR and 3GP.
Play store Link : Androrec (Free) Androrec Plus (Payment). Sorry can't post links ! Free version is more than enough for the freeloaders out there as the free version is completely ad free as you can see from my screenshots attached below. I've tried this on my Galaxy S3 and S4. Works perfectly in mode two. More info can be had on the Google play store link. I have not seen much about this particular software talked about so I thought of putting this up. Hope it helps a few of you. Cheers.
