Hi, Ive done my share of ROM switching recently and one problem i have is with restoring in-app downloads on a new ROM. Games like Shadowgun keep asking me to redownload the inapp game files 250 even though i had done that on another ROM and im sure the file is still saved somewhere on my sd because i never removed it. I Dont want to redownload because i pay a lot for the extra gb i download from my home connection.
another game, real racing asks me to buy the app even though i had done so before on the absolution rom. I pressed the buy game button from the app to see what will happen and it just linked to a page in the playstore that eventually told me what i already knew ... that i had already bought the app. so i go back to the game hoping the issue is solved and instead i still can not continue the game because it thinks i have to buy it. so. .. I'm stuck. .. can't play without buying and can't buy it again ( not saying that i want to or should have to) because it says i already bought it :s

So I started up Asphalt HD and it informs me of a 100MB update, no biggie I got wifis and the 4Gs.. so it downloads and then takes me to the start menu, I click play and it says you have 5 minutes of free play, blah blah, then crashes immediately. WTF. I wiped my phone to factory defaults once too and tried after that and the same thing... anyone else have this problem?
No, but when I went to the market to buy it, it would get as far as the gameloft screen (even that didn't look right) and it would freeze. Tried uninstall and refund, neither worked. I got the game off eventually but it refused a refund. That was 5 bucks. Went to the demo and tried to but that, they wanted 7 bucks for that. They also want to charge it to your phone number. I didn't like that idea but tried it anyways. Got stuck on the screen saying please wait (for purchasing I guess) and froze there. Tried going to website for help, they don't even list the game. I tried looking for help there. They wanted my phone number or email to find my purchase. It said there was no record for me. After all that, to put that feeling into words.....
The demo included by sprint doesnt work for me, but the game works when I download it from the market. I ended up removing the demo anyway.
I found a download for need for speed shift, which is way better in my opinion. Need an unlocked phone to play it.

NFS:Shift is amazing.
Was wondering if anyone else was able to download Need for Speed Shift from the market. I bought it for 10 cents a few days ago on my Fascinate. I bought my Nexus on launch day and noticed I cannot find this app. Unknown Sources is enabled and I have been on ARHD since day one, updating almost daily. Maybe it is just not compatible with ICS? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
Pull the app off your Fascinate and install it on your Galaxy Nexus. Maybe it works and they haven't tested it.
It shows up under my purchased list in the market (on GSM Nexus).
I, too can confirm the same problem. Moving from a fascinate with cm7 to the nexus. Online, the market says it's incompatible. I don't believe it, so I'll try what the other post suggested and pull it from the fascinate.
hy
in my nexus really good run this game.
full screen, and fast. no any problem.
install may be 1.62 version, download with wifi data, and run
able to install the game apk from market ... however when its trying to download additional 100MB of data ... nothing happens and phone just sits there ...
Same problem here. I cant find it in market so i tried to recover it from titanium backup but it blocked, tried to activate the data converter, nothing. Finally installed extracting the apk manually from backup folder and it was stuck on the additional download page but the market crashed immediately and i couldn't run it anyway. Uninstalled and after a reboot the market returned working...
I think we have to wait an update from ea.
Ps: the exactly same thing happens with the sims 3 but Worms for me works, except for some crashes and touch sometimes doesn't work so i have to restart the app...
I have a completely stock GSM GN and i bought nfs shift for 10c for christmas from the android market and it worked perfectly....wtf?
EDIT: hmm... uninstalled the game 2 days ago and now i cant find it in the market..
I purchased this game two days ago after trying the demo version because it was really captivating to me, however, when I attempt to download it, it simply says "starting download" and never actually downloads. I have tried deleting the cache and data from the market application and rebooted my phone after fixing permissions and still no progress. I also checked my Google wallet and edited the zip code, which was wrong at first and I still can't play. Does anybody know how I can fix the game to install. I know it works since the demo did just fine. I really would appreciate an answer. Thanks.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
Wow, no joke as soon as I posted this I checked the road warrior thread and it started downloading the game after I clicked the market link to that game...nobody cares so sorry for this thread...

Usually a system reboot will do the trick ( + that cache deletion). Sometimes for some odd reason the market lags.
If it's any consolation....you answered your own question in 3 minutes..... people don't wait hand and feet on xda to answer your questions lol
i ususally just open up task manager and force close the market it and then reopen it. usually does the trick and it downloads automatically
Anyone else having problems purchasing paid apps on the Play store on JellyBean?
I rooted and flashed JellyBean yesterday and today noticed that every time i try and buy an app it fails authorisation, then I get one email confirming the purchase then quickly after I get another saying the order was cancelled. I've tried it with three apps and tried throughout the day.
I've tried clearing data and cache for it but still get the same thing.
My card definitely works, i've used it today for something else.
Free apps download perfectly fine
is it any paid app or just a couple? if you're purchasing apps where the author is outside the US (i'm assuming you're in the US) sometimes your card will not auth the transactions because the card company thinks its fraud.
One was titanium backup, pretty sure that should work even though I'm in uk.. also tried cut the rope as a test and I know that should work.
I've used this card loads before on the play store so doubt it's a card issue, it could be a dodgy coincidence but only had problems since rooting and flashing, I was on stock before.

Hi all!
I've done a little searching and I'm not finding results that totally work for what I'm asking so if I miss something please don't hate me
Basically I recently upgraded to a Note 2, but I want to be a good cousin and replace my his recently destroyed Ipod (It wasn't his fault, he dad stepped on it whilst cleaning a the van one day.) basically I want to wipe it and put a clear os on it. I messed the headphone jack a little and I destroyed the orientation when I had it. So I can't give it to him on the OS it has. Every ten seconds with headphones in it tries to launch cybertron etc.
I've not flashed before, and I'm not sure what Rom would be best for his needs. Basically I want to (legally if at all possible) put on google play with a google account and buy him angry birds and some of those Kairosoft games, netflix, the whole Ipod jazz basically.
Is this viable? Or should I go to a pawn shop and find a cheap one for his birthday?
Thanks all!
Just flash a clean ROM, use the app Headset Blocker for the headphone problem, and download other apps you need for the Play store...

Will that remove the phone capabilities? I'd prefer to not have texting or phone apps there, as there is no sim card there.

I guess you could delete those from /system/app, but if there is no SIM card they won't work anyway.
Just buy an iPod..problem fixed....
Look around, I'm pretty sure you can find a 160 GB for cheap and BTW when you start deleting important system files like phone.apk,contacts/contacts storage.apk, etc basically any phone capability apps than you'll have force close after force close
