What are your favorite roms? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Hey guys just wondering what your favorite roms are? I'm just looking to try out some roms, I need something as my daily. Tried Aokp, but Ics isn't stable enough. Went to a sense Rom, and I love the sense widgets and camera, but I don't like anything else about it.
So I'm searching for a Rom.
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

For sense I like MikRunny (running it now) but for ASOP stuff I have just run CM7 & CM9 with different launchers to customize it.
Sent from iPhone rehab device.

Skyraider Zeus is a good sense rom. Its virtually bug free and has quite a few themes and mods for it. Its my go to rom when I need it.
I'm not a huge fan of aosp... but condemned souls cm7 v1.5 rc3 is pretty slick. Also miui is a good aosp rom too... the last stable build is 12/9.
If your feeling adventurous give nituj17 ultimatekangbang a shot. Its sense 4 (ics). It has come along way! Nits did a stellar job with it! Its got a few bugs but nothing too major... the biggest being the stock camera. But... a free camera app will fire right up. Problem solved.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2

Stock camera working just fine here on ukb. Just set to 5MP

I also require a stable, daily use ROM for my job. Not a big fan of sense, if you're the same way check out cm7.2.
It's based on Gingerbread 2.3.7 and just got a fresh new round of updates. They brought in some ICS code and it's as stable and functional as ever.
Condemned Soul just updated his kang with the latest CM7.2-RC3. Slap the ICS theme on it from the market and it's a beautiful ROM

I wouldn't say no issues....Very close though and it has come a long way.
I run with CM 7.2 personally...

This phone offers so many good roms. Coming to this phone CM7 was my favorite rom. But after having the phone for a while and trying a lot of different roms. Here is a list of my favorites.w
#1 sense 4a Nitsuj did a great job it is so sweet and i know even better things are on the way.
#2 sense 5.01 w/4ext. Very solid and everything works perfect.
#3 CM7 another great rom where everything works and a lot of customization.

Nit's ultimate kang bang is great and really stable since he added the leaked Chinese kernal. I have had it as a daily driver for about 4 days and had 0 probs. Cam works and its awesome. If you dont like sense, you can always add a custom launcher. I'm running launcher 7 right now, but that will probably change in a few days anyway. But I have a problem, and I'm getting counseling.

Sense 4a is awesome and even better things are coming. I have been running it since the moment it dropped. Loving it!
Looks good Nick.

For Sense 3.5, I take Magnolia 2.1.1 final because it feels extremely smooth and awesome!!!! It has some minor slowdowns, but this always happens in Sense 3.5.
Sense 4, my favorite is nit's ultimatekangbang from because it is awesome!!!! He's really dine a spectacular job and came a long way since his opensense days.
Finally, AOSP goes with CM9 5-30 build all the way!!! Its stable to the point where its become my DD every day. If you can overlook the small touch issues here and there and a semi stable camera, then CM9 is the way to go.
Haven't looked at CM7 for a while, but definitely go for that if you're a newbie with Android roms.

New Roms
Try nit's UKB 3.01 or Relays newest ROM, all around great stuff by awesome Devs
Edit:
Stay away from Relay's Rom that runs 3.6sense it will bork you phone. Needs to be ported over by devs to work correctly if that's even possible

Gotta say nits ukb sense 4a! Not many issues. I am loving the way you rock launcher 7 with it looks awesome. Anyways aeros cm9 with his kernal is great! If it all flops cm7.2 and customize like crazy!

Thanks for all the replies guys! Wonderful community, and it looks like there are some roms I need to try.
Just a quick question, maybe it is just me but is sense slower than aosp?
But you guys have all convinced me to give nits sense rom a try.
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

Although it's older, SkyRaider Zeus 1.3 with Andy's ICS theme is pretty cool, super stable and fast.
I've been playing with CM7 lately. Very fast, and excellent battery life.
CM9 is awesome but has camera issues, and with a 15-month-old, I need a working cam.
I just flashed nit's TSM UKB.....so far, it's super sweet. I haven't put much time in yet. Nit is all over this, so even if there are issues, chances are they'll be handled promptly.
Tried MikRunny roms. They're good. It's really up to what your preferences are.
Ultimately, I'm having a hard time sticking to one. I think I'm addicted to flashing.

From my experience, sometimes. But often they can be more stable depending on the build. AOSP tends to use less battery. The file sizes are much smaller: @ 90M v. sense roms @ 300M

Favorite ROMs
I like Nitsuj17's Sense 4a Kang Bang... or Dinc2 HD.

I had been using virtuous unity 2.39 for a long time, and liked it. I would try CM7 occasionally but couldn't get it working how it should so would switch back.
Just switched to Nit's ukb sense 4a and I love it! I think I'll be staying with this!

I have bounce around among CM7, most of the ICS builds and just went to Nitsuj17's Sense 4a Kang Bang and it is amazing everything works well for me. The ICS killer for me in the past has been the stock camera flash, but now with that working this will be my ROM until the official ICS for the Inc 2 comes out.

Me too. First Rom I flashed was cm7. After that I went straight to cm9 and aokp builds. I really liked Evans cm9.... But this is my digital camera...so when I flashed Justin's kangbang Rom I fell in love. The good parts of sense without all the bloat and a camera that works. Justin is an awesome dev and seems to always be cooking something up with this Rom.

The criteria for my favourite ROM is the build where everything is 100% functional. The problem is I would rather use aosp as sense slows down any phone but it is flawless as far as the little things

[Q] Fastest Sense / Non-Sense Rom

I want to know what the absolute fastest rom is for the EVO...Sense or Non-Sense...don't care, and with everything working.
*Just to be clear......not asking what the best rom is. Not too sure I care about Quadrant scores either. Looking more at how it handles transitions, boot up, opening and closing apps, the whole enchilada.
If you leave a comment can you please also let me know what kernel you may have paired with it.
Thx.
cm6 or lithids GB builds for aosp, i like the cyanogen kernals and savage's too
mikfroyo 4.1 with netarchy's 4.2.2 for sense or ziggy's latest
u can overclock both roms for the speedfreak in ya
also use spare parts to speed up transitions

Sorry, just edited my post because I wanted to include that the rom should have everything working.
I know CM6 now has that but what about mikfroyo?
Just head over to the development forum and check it out. Mikfroyo has everything working, and without a doubt is the fastest sense rom out there. Several other developers are using Amikam's base rom in their own work.
Hands down MikFroYo v4.1
I've been flashing ROMs for two years now. I have to say out of the box without doing any mods, MikFroYo v4.1 is the fastest ROM I've every used. Everything works, as long as you wipe everything and start from scratch. It is a Sense based ROM. I used to flash CM ROMs just to have a faster running Hero. Now with MikFroYo v4.1 on a EVO there is no loss in speed. Have fun and good luck choosing. I'm running MikFroYo v4.1 with launch pro and it is a beautiful thing.

mikfroyo will not let u down, it all works, plus the dev is constantly tweaking it even more; he supports his work bigtime and answers every question fast
Anyone using the latest SBS kernel with this? How does it run? Is battery life good?
Batt life is good. On a easy day with not to much action you can get 18-20 hrs. On a heavy day maybe 10-12. But thats what home, computer, and car charges are for.
Im considering Mikfroyo 4.1 too, but i was wondering if anyone knows of or can post a video of it. How similar is the UI to the stock Evo UI?
thanks

Don't need a video. I just flashed 4.2 and there are very few changes to the stock UI. Looks basically the same with exception to a few additional installed apps, power notification drop down, maybe a style change on something. There are also some stock apps not included. But, is way faster than the stock one.
It is fast for a Sense rom but still can't believe an ASOP isn't the fastest available.
I've been getting around 2500 in quadrant and 39.5 consistently using CM 6.1.1 with netarchy's 7.6 SNAP BFS. I'm also running the iNexus 6.1.1 theme.

That's good but I'm not too interested in benchmarks. Even Cyanogen has said they are trivial and not accurate most the time.
What I am interested in is user experience. How is CM6 when doing transitions, opening apps, etc? Mikfroyo right now, even with the sense, is pretty darn smooth and fast.
Or, maybe even throw Vaelpak in there. It seemed pretty quick when using. Any other seriously fast roms out there?
Would really like to hear an opinion from someone who has used CM and maybe Mikfroyo. Even if you don't like Sense (i don't) it can be removed from any rom.
yea i used quad on my evo when it was stock and was getting 1250-1300 consistantly, and my phone was getting slow, jerky, and unresponsive. Rooted and put mikfroyo on and im amazed at how much more smoothly it runs. Funny thing is it benchmarks at or lower then it did before, yet in real world stuff its obviously faster.
6.1.1 has been very smooth and I can honestly say that after enabling snap turbo, it is far and away the fastest tom i've used.
Fresh 3.5.0.1 w/ toast 4.1.9.1 was faster than mikfroyo 4.2 for me... CM 611 W/ Snap Turbo blows them both out of the water. Also, if benchmarks don't mean anything, nobody would develop them. If I was scoring an 8 on quad w a samsung, i would attempt to convince myself of that, but in reality, i'd just exchange it for an htc.
Nonetheless, for the rest of the weirdos who do use benchmarks to assist w choosing a rom or kernel, you may find the following beneficial: http://home.comcast.net/~ttechnology/compiled.html

How was your battery life while on CM 611 compared to the other roms?
Comparable since i use cpu tuner as well and config'd it to max @ 400ish on screen off.

Tried most all of those, absolutely love Warm 2.2
I love a few different roms, but I continue to either run CM7+WiMax, or CM6 + Wimax. Depends on if I am in a froyo or GB mood.
I tried using CM7 cause I wanted the the Ginger Slut experience but it didn't do anything for me. Couldn't get 3G to work, 4G didn't work, was able to change the skin once and then couldn't find out how to again afterward, it just didn't work for me.
SAC's HD port is pretty sharp too but when I tried it wasn't quite stable enough for me to use it as a daily, its probably much better by now though.
For now I'm sticking with my own version of stock ROM.

Same, im using Netarchy's 4.3.2 cfs, more-havs kernel and I get 7-9 hours on very heavy use (50% is navigation and maps).
I like this rom over any rom i've used, I've used almost everything but miui, I want my phone to look like android os, not iOS.
i rocked myn's warm 2.2 for the longest time and still know that its a great ROM, (also used Caukulins Evio), but just recently got set up on the latest mikfroyo release with the blue theme and I'm loving it. also got my wife set up on it with the pink theme. we have a lot of great devs here in the evo community. everyone brings something to the table. thanks to you all!

I've tried a lot of ROMs. Ava, Myn, CM7, CM6, Sprint Lovers, MikFroyo. I just flashed MikFroyo and while it's still too early I'm enjoying what it offers.
I gave up trying to find the best battery life. I'm just swapping between 3 batteries and carrying around my charger. I dropped my Sero plan last July for this phone and I'm going to get my moneys worth damn it! lol
MikFroyo 4.4 for me. I get a bad feeling about 4.5, perhaps it was over tweaked, so I am waiting on 4.6. But I am not sure what the benefit would be since I haven't had any issues since going with 4.4

4.5 is great, but like they say if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I've tried 4 different ROM's and Mikfroyo is by far my favorite with RLS5 coming in a very close 2nd.
MIUI is the way!
Well I just started using MIUI and I love it. I does not drain my Evo at all. Also I have CM6 but i prefer MIUI, but I hope to flash the newest update soon. MIUI 1.2.4. Its hella crisp and very customizable.
Check out the latest here bro!

I've had CM7, Myn's, and MikFroyo.
Myn's was good for some time.... but I needed somemthing more.
MikFroyo was fast.. It was good.
Cm7 drained battery quite a bit.
I got Miui recently and love it. It's like Cyanogenmod (based off of it) with improvements in battery and UI. I didn't like the UI at first but it really grew on me and I can't see myself switching back soon.
But the insane battery life and speed keep me on Miui's ROM. For example, I lost 1% overnight on wifi. That's how it should be. Looove it.

Looking for the best Rom and kernel combination for my EVO 4G?

Hey guys what's up...ok so I finally got my evo rooted and I was able to try out a couple of ROMs....I tried so far cyanogenmod 7 and nyms warm twopointtwo rls5 but I noticed that my data would cut out and not switch over from 3g to wi fi and in cyanogenmod 7 force close errors left to right...what is the best kernel Rom combination that will provide the most features performance and stability? Now using stock rooted Rom...on a happy note I was able to put the Android peeing on Apple bootloader love it lol....let me know guys thanks

Personally.. I'm leaning towards Sense based roms more and more. They just have alot of the features I'm after and now that most are implementing other aspects of AOSP roms I'm finding more and more it's the way to go (ie. miui player, android mail vs htc etc, themed gallery etc.) I can make 2 recommendations right off the bat.
1. Koni Elite Series III - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
2. King Cocoa True Blue - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995410
I've played with so many roms I've lost count but I think with either one of those you'll find everything you are looking for. And I find that most themes will flash over them as well (Slayers cyan dragons and skulls theme is pretty sweet on koni's)
Every phone is different and not one seems to be the same as the next so as to recommend a kernel that is gonna take some testing on your part. I've given up on trying different ones as most cause nothing but boot loops and crashes. HTC #15 stock kernel plays the best for me. As for roms.. Keep on flashing.. It becomes addictive but you'll find what you like eventually. The work these cats have put into these roms are worthy of many a dollar so be sure to thank them for their work! Good luck , have fun!
thank you for the reply I really appreciate it...yes it is very true...rooting these guys is like taking away their chastity belts lmao....totally opens up the possibilities...i am super new to this don't even know what the good apps are and good folks on here helped me root my phone...definitely going with sence gonna check out those time in a bit

If you want a stable, fast and battery-efficient Sense ROM that cuts out a lot of the Sprint/htc cruft and still looks nice, check out Eternal Prophecy.

both are the best for me.
it really boils down to personal preference. there's no one true answer as to what is the best combination as it differs from person to person.

Went your route my friend Thanks for the input
CM7 + Tiamat kernel = 1day 9hrs battery life.
Fast, stable, good battery life, smooth....a perfect winner.
you should try Azreal x4.0 it is really fast and everything works
MIUI is very unique, runs on Gingerbread power. Warning - no 4G (yet).
Kernel is Tiamat 3.3.8 with SBC. I suggest that you use Kernel Manager, works pretty well.
Oh, and if you're a flashaholic, be sure to condition your battery. Charge to 100%, go into recovery and wipe battery stats, reboot phone, when it boots to the desktop unplug the phone and don't plug it up until the battery is fully dead. Then charge it to 100% again. Boom. Better batter.

Bored... Your thoughts?

Im running CM9, Came from an N1 (which i still think is a great phone). Anyhow, I do like ICS I think the GNex is nice device, but its somewhat boring stock, and not much better than that with CM9...
Im not sure if CM is just falling by the wayside, but the CM7 software on my N1 had sooo much more to tinker with (they really made android come alive)
What does everyone else think? Any nice ROMs I should be flashing that are more advanced in development?

Try MIUI. Try the different ports from Xperia's to Sense 4.0 (although most of them aren't stable enough for daily use they can be played with for a day and is quite interesting.)
I think its just that back in the day Android, and the carrier customizations were so crappy that you absolutely needed to tinker with the phone to get it to work right.
I'm finding I'm bored too with ICS. It's because I don't need to do anything to it. Its like tinkering with the settings page of Gmail. "this is... good."
My thoughts? I think you should get a girlfriend… and spend less time with your phone.
AOKP has an incredible amount of tweaks.
Sounds like you need to flash a buggy ROM or two son.
Yeah doesn't aokp have a huge jump on cm9 with features? You really should try aokp. Cm9 needs more dev time.

AOKP has more features but less stability / speed.
OP, give this a shot: http://bit.ly/zg5fZw It adds some features to CM9 that allow for some more customization.
Try swimming with your phone?
teach a man to fish, you feed him for life. teach a man to fastboot, and you create competency. and less threads on xda.

Some might call that bloat.
I am using AOKP for fast featured tweaks/mods and stable rom. I'll eventually jump back to cyanogen, after they reached RC1. Or maybe AOKP for Gnex, CM9 for sgs2. But oh well, after using AOKP, i tend to stay with it a long time without trying other roms. Its the best for now.

Sounds like you have no idea what it is you're talking about. AOKP is rock solid stable with the latest milestone, and I don't remember any instabilities with the "nightly" builds I tried.

His experience /= your experience.
If you include the kitchen sink, eventually roaches crawl out of it. This applies to any rom.

My apologies, I didn't know that a day after release we knew for 100% certainty that there were no bugs / issues.
Oh wait: http://rootzwiki.com/forum/497-bug-tracker/
HAHAA there is some funny [email protected] in here, I have already tried bungee... in Thailand over a pool, that was enough for me!
the CM9 is very stable which is great, just needs more stuff ported over. I wouldn't buy a phone unsupported by CM I've loved there roms in past.
Ill try some of these other you guys suggested...
Oh and to the dude talking about finding a GF... are you the Pot or the Kettle?

[Q] Best rom out there?

Hey guys how you guys doing?? well i hope your all good....i hope this is not a repetitive thread but i havent been on these evo forums since FEB and that was for my exes evo....i use to have an Epic now i am on here With an Evo trying to figure out whats the latest and greatest and most stable rom out there if its.....Gingerbread....ICS.....or MIUI i would prefer ICS but i i can wait if its not stable.... i need reliability....speed and great baterry life and some bells and whistles lol alright guys give me your opinion i am not sure if We have a tread like this but somebody should create like a poll were people vote on the best at that moment..just an idea thanks guys!!!
well here is my 2 cents
i have flashed almost every rom for the evo
most have ok batt life
for ics i have the cm9 5-11-2012 nightly and i have only gone down 10%batt since 6am this morning its now 12:32(no flashed kernel stock minus a theme)and its super smooth and responsive.
for sense i got the most batt life from digital karma v6 with more lionfish kernel 1.8 smartass v2 Governor would get a 1% drop every 27min or so with this config
and this is all with wifi on and facebook and xda throughout the day
Most ICS roms that i've tried aren't stable enough for me. I just tried MIUI.us rom last night and it was constantly rebooting my phone. The best ICS rom I used was a few months ago AOKP M4, but now that most ICS roms have HWA, all of them have their quirks, at least on my phone.
I'm using deck's reloaded now with the ics theme and it's really smooth, its a gingerbread rom, if you want the ics look and feel.
Hands down its.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612933
Best ICS right now is the CM9 Port. Very Stable and smooth as butter
Take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561680 been using it for a bit ithout any issues. I'm running http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570308&highlight=underworld+v6 instead of stck Kernel

They took a very popular rom released about 6 months ago and then tweaked it out to make it even better!
Deck Reloaded, an improvement on perfection.
The best I have used is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657892

Thanks man!! Update coming here soon btw
Depends on what you're looking for really.
In my experience, if you want a sense based rom that has everything you could ever want as far as functionality, performance, stability and aesthetics then you must go with Swagged Out Stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258932
This particular rom has 6 different versions available for you via the aroma installer.
You have sosX sosS and sosN versions both odexed and deodexed. Try it out you might not ever look at another sense rom.
If you're tired of sense and want something fresh with endless customization then you should check out Deck's Reloaded LOTK Team Dirt .44cal which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661605
This thing is stable, and LIGHTNING FAST!
here's a screenshot of my current setup on this rom:

Swagged Out Stock's SOSX Deodexed with the new updated stock kernel or the updated underworld kernel. Esp if you want the ICS experience without all the problems. It is a sense 1.0 rom

Aahh darn,lol.
I vote for 4 Kornerz or Deck's Reloaded. Both are very good. I also like AlterRom
Currently, running Team D.I.R.T / CM9 ICS port and it's a great rom. Fast and very stable. If you don't want an ICS rom, then for me, it would have to be what I previously used, MikG.....
