[Q] Audio volume levels on CM9 ROMS on Xperia Play - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why audio volume is so low on CM9 ROMS at least compared to stock and CM7 ROMS? Does anyone know of a way to increase them? I've tried Beats Audio, which definitely improves the quality of the sound, but not really the volume. I'm talking about the speaker by the way...headphone audio is fine.

[Q] xLoud for Desire HD ICS ROM

Hi everyone,
Is there any compatible add-on of xLoud sound enhancement that can be applied to Desire HD's ICS ROM?
Last month, when I was still running my phone with Android2.3.4+Sense3.0
I flashed the xLoud Engine made by Pacha, and it worked GREAT!
Sound improvements for phone speakers are easily noticed.
Currently, my phone is running Blackout's V3.0 which contains Android4.0.4+Sense3.6
flashed the same add-on and my phone can't boot anymore, guess it might be compatibility issues
So...is there anything that can improve the phone speaker volume while running ICS?
I tried DSP Manager, headset effects are great, but for phone speakers...well...
I wouldn't post this thread if it works...
If there's anything out there that can help to improve phone speaker volumes
Let me know! I need it desperately:crying:
does anyone has any info on this?
I also look for the solution to improve loudspeaker sound issue.
It's quite small in call hand-free and ringtones that make many lost calls when walking around crowded people

Not possible because Sony audio drivers is closed source. There is no fix for this.

speaker sound on nexus 7 FHD low?

is it normal or not? the left(top near the front cam) speaker is much louder then the right?
also is there any apps to improve sound loudness? thanks
Get Faux's kernel and his sound mod app. Only thing as far as I know that can change volume for the whole system.

I think that's a hardware problem.. My n7 is plenty loud and both speakers are equally loud as well. You could always try faux, but if it remains you'll have to exchange your n7.
thanks i'll try to get faux kernel, would rather stick to stock
might be i have bad ears and bad case that blocks the speakers

Does anyone know...
When I go to Play store it says this app needs custom kernel for "full functionality"...if you use it on stock, what does it do, if anything? Whats the gap between partial and full functionality?
Thanks.

With MiniROM, I had very loud and good sound on the phone's speaker. It had ViPER by default, though... My current ROM uses DSP Manager, with also good speaker sound. Your ROM has a different sound manager?

Headphone Output Volume

Hi guys, recently I noticed that the headphone jack output isn't as loud it used to be in the OOS 3.X days.
For example, setting my OnePlus X aside and comparing the two, I would much rather prefer the louder, more aggressive tones it produces compared to the OP3.
Does anyone know what I could do to work around this? I have the bluspark kernel currently. I flashed francokernel to use gain control and was running into stability issues and bootloops before i could even get to it.
I'm currently on OB14 and my daily driver IEMs are the Xiaomi Hybrid Pro HDs.
Thanks.
Use ARISE Sound mod + V4A. These work great. Also these are included in popular roms like FreedomOS & ExperienceOS.
Hope this helps.

I tried that, but it doesn't seem to make my audio any louder than it was before

Do one thing flash FreedomOS and in aroma select Arkamysa and Viper 2.5 (or whichever is latest), do not select anything else in Audio Mods. It will work for sure.

Get Viper4Android, do not get any audio mods that come with ROMs if you really do care about audio quality. All these different audio mods make music sound like absolute trash and remove a lot of clarity. Viper4Android doesn't change the sound if you don't want it too and you can go to the last option and boost the gain by I think 10db... That is plenty enough to bring it back to the loudness you like (probably way higher) while not deteriorating the sound much.
