Edit: Doesnt' work on Omega's V3. Phone froze had to restore from backup
framework-res.apk for Omega v3.0
it did not work with Omega v3.0 so I decompiled and compiled framework.res-apk based on Omega v3.0
You have to do this, download this framework-res.apk http://www.multiupload.nl/4E3AXFJ362 and flash it through Recovery.

open the Omega v3.0 ROM and copy (drag) the downloaded framework-res.apk to system/framework, it will replace the one inside, after you done that you need to flash the ROM again, this time it will boot correct, I have tested this so it should work

I think maybe it could work with DocRambones also if we did the same, or if someone makes a CWM zip so you dont have to flash the whole ROM.

Does it work with the insecured Kernel or just with a custom ROM?
Nonetheless it wouldn't speed up the autobrightness mode... The stock function is just way too slow
Here is an app that can change auto brightness :

Excellent, I was just about to start a thread about this.
I personally find when its dark the screen is bright enough but under any sunlight the screen is way to dim. Does 20/80 relate to the dimmer range of the screen brightness?
Do I need to be rooted to use this?
Thanks in advance

Before install please take a look into your ROM, if you have the same files inside your ROM then this would simply replace it with new ones, nothing to lose
Can you post screenshots please? I would like to be certain what it is exactly.

This is now included in my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Galaxy Nexus - details.
Here's something i'm testing on my GN that I thought i'd share. I personally find the auto backlight levels a bit low, so i've tweaked them a bit. This is very much in TEST phase, let me know how you find it and if it improves things for you. This is for expert users only at this stage, install via ClockworkMod recovery.
This is tested on devices running the ITL41D / ITL41F ROMs.
Update: There is now 2 different files with 2 steps of brightness increase!

Paul , your putting in work so far man .
Great stuff, after going from my SGS2 to the Nexus I couldn't believe the difference in brightness profiles. Thanks Paul!
What have you used instead of /sdcard/ since that doesn't exist
Thanks - works with a noticeable improvement for me.
Ok I seem to be getting some errors here I can't figure out.
I've rooted using Pauls Superboot, however when I try to backup the framework.apk to sdcard I get No such file or directory.
If I just pull it to my pc and rename it and push it works fine.
Then when I try to remount I get
mount: Operation not permitted
Anyone got any ideas?

Paul, until you have re-inserted into your MCR, is it safe to use the standalone patch with MCR v4?

Has this been fixed or confirmed as working? I'd love for the base auto-brightness level to be the same as the minimum selectable brightness level. That would fix the majorty of the banding evident.
Is anyone else noticing that their brightness doesn't change at all when using the auto feature? Maybe a sensor in my thing is broken or unresponsive; does anyone know an app or test that can check if the sensor(s) is functioning correctly? :x

This theme suitable for any stock or CM FW version
(but not for custom ROM`s based on CM).
Installation:
Make backup first!!!!
Use Stock Recovery or any version of CWM;
1. You do not need to wipe anything before installing, but it is mandatory to connect the phone to an external power source.
2. Boot in to the Recovery (or CWM) and run the update.
The update will run from 20 minutes (for CM) to 40 minutes (for stock FW). Consumed a lot of energy. This is a fee for versatility.
Info: On the screens you can see that the battery with interest only 5%, so it is better not install this to custom batterry with 1% interest.
This update amends the existing resources, rather than replace them. That is why the installation takes a long time and there is a large expenditure of energy. But the beauty of versatility and security is worth it.
So it looks on CM
So it looks on stock FW
Download update
Wallpapers are attached.
This is similar to Go Launcher's Future World Theme. I love it.
Cool ! Gonna try it on Stock.
