Just saw that Anker released a 2700mah version battery for the note, an extra 200mah ain't much but it's still a bit more... The price is also good, just ~10$

How is the battery performance?
And how long does the external charger take to charge a batt fully?
I just bought the Anker 2700mAh combo from a local dealer in Singapore. 2 batteries and charger at SGD40. Charging the battery at the moment... Cant wait to test the batteries!
Take the total average time your phone lasts until it dies
So if your phone lasts only 6 hours on average do this
60 * 6 = 360 minutes
Then do 2500(mah)/360(minutes) = 6.94(mah per min)
So the stock 2500 mah battery should last for 360 minutes
While the anker 2700 mah will last you 389.04 minutes
So for $10-13 dollars will get you an extra 30 minutes

No, for $10-13 you get a secondary battery which can potentially go 30 minutes more than the stock battery
So you will get, say 6 hours from the stock battery and 6.5hours for each anker battery (of which you get 2?)
So thats 6 + 6.5 + 6.5 = 19hours ! (19 Hours of usage, Not 19hours standby)
pretty awesome for $<15

I'm in the camp of people who don't want to carry extra devices and constantly removing the back cover
It is not 19 hours of constant usage.
The oem gives me on average 6 hours in the day which also includes Standby.

Someone Have the Ebay Link To get Anker 2700mAh in Italy?
Thanks
I have the Anker 2500mah and 2700 mah. Battery life for the 2700mah is similar to 2500mah and the interesting thing is that the 2700mah weighs 2 g lesser than both the Original and Anker 2500mah. Taht's disappointing costhey stopped selling the 2500mah and sold the 2700mah at a higher price.
I bought the dual pack with charger. I have been very happy with the battery life a bit better than stock, but now I have a working 3250 mah battery so I keep the Ankers as spare.
Frankly the price is not high considering the quality of the product.

is that 3250 mah that gold stock size battery?
is it legit? does it actually provide 3250?
on the battery showdown or the 3250 review, they said it was a load of crap and the battery died after a short while or something.

well 2700mah pack costs more than the 2500mah pack with same performance. anyway they have increased the price again after my purchase, so for any new buyers I would recommend others maybe the gold battery.
The separators at the battery contact point has has broken for all my anker batteries and also the top edges seemed to have been cracked too. It is minor nonetheless.

I'm not sure about the tests at the moment, but DO NOT BUY 4800 mAh battery for Uni, it's a crap! 3200 mah is the best of all batteries (perfect life about 4-5-6-7 days) .

3800mAh
I have this one http://www.expansys.de/p.aspx?i=139188 since November 2005 and it is still the best you can get as it is just one pice.
I've just bought a 3150mAh battery from SuperGPS.co.uk and ran a simple test. Playing a 352x240, 30fps Divx, at low brightness, I reckon I'll see over four hours - exactly what I wanted!

I have all 3 batteries, too.....and Win_xp is absolutely right, the 4800mah is crap, compared to the 3200.
....guys, if you charge 4800 SLOWLY (10-15H) in uni through usb and not with the 3200 charger (or not with 3200charger+final 30% in uni, as I was doing before) you'll get much better result (not 3200, but similar....).
Probably you already know, but charging 4800mah batteries with the stand alone usb charger gives green light and stops charging as soon as they hit 3200mah.....
really? ive read on some other sites about the 4800 batts being good but it was up and down, my girlfriend ordered me one and its on its way and i was wondering what kind of battery life to expect and what is the right way to charge it, so this means that i can only charge it via usb? i just wanted a good high life battery as i have an old original 1600batt that wont last4 hrs at standby and 1 hour active, so how should i use it & charge it and out of who has this batt what kind of life should i expect?
6 houres of continuos use from full (100%) to flat (5%). Never charged on usb: i'll try tonight.

What is meant by this? I normally charge the 4800mah via USB with the battery in my qtek.
I have the same problem with the 4800mah battery; it does not contain 4800mah, that's for sure! So, I would like to know:
what is the best way to charge a 4800mah battery?

Always the best way to charge a battery is using the power wall charger
I have a 3500 mah battery I bought from the dark side of the moon. It "looks" real and it will operate my phone, but is it REALLY 3500 mah?
Is there some sort of software that I can download that will tell me the battery's capacity?
Thinking about this.
The 1500 mah stock battery charges at a max rate of 650 ma's (even with a 1 amp charger) and takes roughly 2.3 hours to fully charge.
I suppose I could charge it from 50 to 60%, determine how long that takes and multiply by 10 to get the approximate charging time. I say approximate because EVO batteries take less and less juice as they approach 100% charge.
So anyway, once I have the approximate charging time I can multiple that by 650 and get the approximate mah of the battery:
So, if it the total charging time is 4.5 hours I would just multiple 4.5 x 650 and get 2950 mah as the capacity.
I'll try this and see if it works.
try batteryboss.org, i think he had ordered one from hong kong to test, the seidio only did 2810 mah when he tested it, I got one of the 3500's from the states but it is the same as the hong kong version lasts the same as seidio ... way better than the stock 1500, but your method should work as a rough estimate i think.
Did a quick first pass. It took about 13 minutes to charge 10%.
That's 13 x 10 = 130 / 60 = 2.16 x 650 ma = 1408
So, on first blush it would appear that my 3500 mah chinese battery is actually a 1500 mah battery stuck in a 3500 mah battery case.
Sucks, but on the other hand, I got 2 1500 mah batteries for $20 which isn't a bad deal. That being said, do I want to have a big heavy phone for a battery that is no better than my stock?
On the other hand, not being a stock EVO battery, this battery may actually be charging at a full amp. That being the base, I am closer to 2500 + which wouldn't be bad at all. Have to download a amperage testing program and see how many amps it is drawing while charging.
** They never tested the chinese battery at batteryboss.org
OK, installed Current Widget from the Market. It will log my average amperage during the test and we'll find out what's what. I think the answer will be that this chinese battery with 3500 mah written on it is really just a 1500 mah battery.
Well, based upon my Current Meter, the charging amperage is all over the place, mostly between 450 and 550 ma. If that is true, then my calculations change:
13 x 10 = 1300 / 60 = 2.1666 x 500 (avg) = 1083 mah.
Just keeps getting worse.
Omg? I hope that battery isn't from GorillaGadgets.com
Edited: I bought one last night, gonna arrive 10 days.

Well, these tests I am running arent exactly accurate. However there is no way a true 3500 mah battery would charge 10% in 13 minutes. Not possible.
Ok, I have two of these 3500 mah batteries. I decided to sacrifice one to science since it was so cheap. I tore it apart and here is what I saw:
Instead of one battery, it looks like two batteries kind of jerry-rigged together. There seems to be connections on both batteries top and bottom. I have no idea if a true 3500 mah battery is supposed to be one solid cell, but these are not.
The batteries have a serial code on them: 044060A JK30
I traced these to a company in China by the name of: Dongguan Delon Power Co., Ltd. They do, in fact, make these batteries; however, there is NO MENTION anywhere on their webpage whatsoever of what the mah is for this particular battery.
In order for this to be a 3500 mah battery, these would have to be two 1750's. I seriously doubt they are. I'm calling BS.
Here are some pics:

i was about to say the same thing. your best bet is to charge completely, then run it to zero while logging current. then you can import the log to a spreadsheet, and calculate the capacity from there. this wont be perfect, but it will eliminate a lot of variables, and give a fair comparison with stock battery.
Well, at this point the most interesting thing is that this is NOT one battery but two soldered together.
The odd thing is that on every site I checked that sells these, it does NOT list the mah, only the voltage. How the hell are people supposed to buy them if they dont know the mah?
first sorry about bumping such an old post but again i think someone may visit and not get good info so i will add some words,,
these lion batteries charge extremely fast initially only after reaching 90 percent their charging becomes hell slow,,
so to test a battery first take ur oem batter drain it until ur phne shuts offs,,
now put it on charge and after 10 minutes turn it on dont use it ,, just leaveit,, let it fully charge,, fully charge means when ur cell prompts charging completed. or done or 100 % done etc,, note all this time,,,from the time u put the attery till it became full,,
now look at ur charger for output current and multiply that with the amount of time in hours ,, e.g if it took 2.3 ( 2 hours approx 20 minutes) hours and ur charger current otput was 1 amp,, then the ans is 1 x 2.3 =2.3 AH,,, or 2300 mili amps,, now the charging process is not eficient ,, its 30 % loss so get 30 % of 2.3 and subtract it from 2300 mah,, that is ur rough capacity,,,
do same experiment for the high capacity 3500 mah battery as well,,
als weight is another factor which can alone tell u at least if the high capacity battery is having more capacity then current oem or not..
repeat that process...2 or 3 times get the mean u got some good figures,,,,
remember that batteries capacity is not accuratly advertised ,, it may be off by at least 5-10 % for good quality cells ,, poor cellls may be 50 % off from rated capacity,,in that case u can weight the batteries to get an idea,,,
so what r ur results ?
r those batteries still alive
According to a rep I emailed, Mugen Power is making extended life batteries for our battery eating HTC Glacier that should be released sometime early 2011. For those who don't know Mugen Power, they have a reputation for making extended life batteries for every popular smart phone on the market.
Typically they'll make 2 different batteries for each phone, one that aims to fit like a stock with an added 400 or so mah, the second tends to require a custom backing and can often be double the stock mah.
Honestly? I can't wait. ^.^

In the tests I see Mugen did absolutely terrible. In my experience they *can* make good batteries, but have terrible Q.C. The 1st batt I received for my N900 only lasted about half an hour when fully charged. The second lasted over two days on a charge, when stock couldn't even last one.
They seem to be very much a "luck of the draw" kind of company.
posted this in the seido innocell thread as well:
dunno where i saw it (somewhere here on xda prolly N1 forum) but some guys put every aftermarket battery for MANY phones up against HTC's stock batteries the astounding results:
NO aftermarket battery from ANY mfg. has EVER beaten HTC's stock battery...
(this is referring to batteries that fit in stock battery enclosure)
I disagree fella, I myself can verify that Mugen power LiIon battery is superior comparing mAh to mAh against stock HTC batteries. I mean its not just BS they do have respected branch in the market when it comes to manufacturing batteries which is durable and long lasting which is tested by many. But for it to work you have to completely discharge it few times I normally do it for 2-3days before actual use for optical performance.

Now keep in mind the stock battery is 1230 mAh and the Mugen power stock size battery was 1300 mAh. So the only difference here was 70+ extra mAh yet after extended test and usage I can respectfully say I got 3-4hours extra with Mugen than the stock size which is alot when you compare the batteries and its only 70 mAh extra which is nothing.
Now keep in mind from those SS the TBattery 0.60 does not verify the actual full mAh as its preset to the max of stock battery which is bug in the program. At the beginning to me it did seem the stock battery was superior as time went on and after many full discharges, Mugen power battery come on top.

Your laptop battery is around ~15V, which is 4 to 5 times higher than the battery in the note.

Agreed. I get about 50% of 'stated' mAh on my Chinese batteries. Still a good buy, don't get me wrong, but I am going to pay the extra $15 to get a stock battery now.

4150mAh @ 3.7 volts though. I bet your laptop battery runs closer to 15 volts! THe more important figure is how many watt/hr's the battery can supply.
4150mAh @ 3.7v = 15.2625 watt/hr (4.125*3.7)
4150mAh @ 15v = 61.875 watt/hr (4.125*15)
anyone with the test reports of the same
not worth it.
I bought one of each and the slim one did not even last a day. And the thick one lasted exactly a day. I was surfing the net for about one hour constantly texting maybe a 2hr phn call total. And some games like temple run and asphalt. I still recommend the mugen 3400mah this lasted me a day and a half doing the same things.
