im not trying to tether the device, but how do i access phone internet with my laptop LAN internet? i tried connectify but xplay just cannot detect the hotspot while my another Nokia phone can detect it easily. please help as i dont have other wifi source for certain important updates, thanks!

Connectify is the most easiest method, i dont think the Xperia Play can recognise Ad Hoc Connections,try changing the settings on Connectify

hello, sorry for my english, i'm french, so, after the ics update (mk16i) stock rom, it's impossible to connect pc over the wifi, with gb 2.3.4 we haven't this issue .
how to fix it please ?

no to connect phone to pc over the wifi, not with the wire usb .
it's possible on gb why not on ics? is it a bug? is it a downgrade to sony?
I use a program called myphoneexplorer it is a phone management tool, it installs a small app on the phone I connect to computer using this.
What are you running on computer vista or win7 both of these make connecting a walk in the park, win xp is s bit more involved

win 7 but it's work with gingerbread, why after upgrade to ics it doesn't work? it's very stupid from sony
I think he speaks about wifi-tethering.
I have the same issue since ICS update and don't know how to fix it.

it's simple
with gingerbread we can connect the phone to the pc with the wifi, access sd card... synchronize contacts etc.... without cable
after the upgrade ics we can't

helo guys,I used touchwiz v1,it works great,but my only problem is it doesn't connecting to hotspot shield &psiphon vpn,they start and goes half a way but disconnecting,and in my country Iran to connect google play store and all social network must use vpn.other custom rom which I try there wasn't problem but just this one?please help.thank you for your feed back!

I currently use Samsung Galaxy S2 + 3200mah Mugen battery with 4.4.2 and extensively use OpenVPN client on the phone to connect to my own VPN servers.
LG G3 is shaping up to be my next next upgrade (only 2nd ever smart phone, S2 was my first).
But was wondering any LG G3 users use OpenVPN client or native VPN and whether there's any issues ?

No issues at all... I use native VPN to connect to the servers at work. Moreover I found the app VpnCilla which allows to use VPN with knock code and without further security settings like pin or password.

Just got a D855 (Kitkat 4.4.2) here in Germany as a replacement for my iPhone4s. Can't connect anymore to my VPN (LPT2/IPSEC) with stock app. Both iPhone and laptop connect OK ... Not rooted yet.
Using openVPN with no issues at all. Just consider the closed booloader when u buy it.
