Is it possible to root and flash this phone to work fully on Boost Mobile (Text, Web, Calling, MMS, etc)? Boost can flash sprint phones to work with the service, but seeing as this is a verizon, how would I go about getting this phone ready to get activated with Boost either over the phone or in a store?
Thanks!
I am wondering the same thing as well.

Any Progress?
I even bought the full version of CDMAW to try to use the same donor phone I used for my HTC Evo 4G - and no luck (Cant make the changes I need to make) Any ideas. I won't get into the details as I am sure it will start irrelevant babble about Federal laws and such. I am not responding seeking moral guidance, Simply a sharing of ideas for educational purposes.
Has anyone been able to activate a Bionic on Boost? If so point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

i have seen guides but from what i read it a royal pain the ass and don't work 99% of the time
I bet its a stolen phone
HERE'S a tutorial on flashing to metro. It will be a good start but you will need to change the addy from metro to boost. A little google searching should help you out but like I said, start here.
I know two people, that got there evo stolen too bad they can sorta still activate it on ghetto metro.
Any talk of boost/metro flashing should be banned >=]
The information in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008909 may be helpful.
I completely agree with both nsxla and weehooherod... stolen phones shouldn't be able to be able to be activated. At the same time the way providers tie you into using their devices is as ridiculous as Apple's software copyrights not allowing you to use software you purchase on non-approved hardware (that's another topic). I have an acquaintances that is a area sales manager for a big cell company and his only argument for carriers not accepting outside phones is that they are not optimized for the individual provider's network and hence can bog it down. Yeah... mmmm hhhmm
Flashing to Metro is perfectly fine, because you don't need to illegally modify your phone, hell metro openly flashes evo's to their service.
However, putting an evo on Boost is outside of the legal guidelines since it requires a donor phone to clone onto the evo.
As far as MetroPCS and other pre-paid services bashing them is just plain ignorant. In some states you'll get better coverage with Metro than you would AT&T or some other contract providers and the prices are good.
To the OP: Metro has better coverage than Boost in my area so it might be worth checking out where you live.
I'm new, but I have scoured the site and can't find what I'm looking for.
I have a Samsung Juke with a Verizon Wireless plan. I have a spare HTC Incredible that I want to replace the Juke with. Unfortunately when I talked to Verizon they said that if I switch to the Android, I have to purchase the data plan. I'm cheap, and I don't want the data plan as I have WiFi wherever I would need data.
I have already rooted and ROMed the phone using ClockworkMod 5.02, and Stock+.
Is it possible to configure the Incredible to clone the Juke, and just turn Cell data off?
If so, how?

I have mine activated with pageplus. Same network (prepaid coverage) and way cheaper
If I understand it correctly, you should be able to switch phones without getting a data plan, as long as you don't buy a subsidized phone (2 yr contract). Go to a store and tell them u just wanna switch phones, and don't have any need for data. This may have changed with their new data rules. If they FORCE you to use a data plan to get mobile access on a phone you own, that's a scam and you should switch to something like what funone46, pageplus
I appreciate the thought to switch to another carrier/plan, however I am situated with a 2 year contract that is up in October this year. Then I'll switch the Incredible to Boost and all will be well. In the meantime, I'd like to swap the Incredible in for the Juke, but I need to know if I can situate the Incredible to receive the calls and texts that would normally hit the Juke.
I know I can do this with the Incredible in place of a Samsung Incognito on Boost, but can I do this with the Incredible in place of a Samsung Juke on Verizon?

It is probably possible, but im not very familiar with it. You would have to use qpst to grab the esn and settings from the juke, and then use qpst to put the esn and settings on the incredible. I think i know how to do it in theory, but have never actually done so and am not positive if it would even work.
As I said before, I'm new. So I'm not familiar with QPST. I've already downloaded the installation files, but the screen shots look a bit complicated and I wanted to consult before I ventured that far. If I had someone giving me key assistance, I'm game to try it out. As I've said before, the Incredible is an extra phone, so I don't care about screwing it up.
I would be very grateful if you could give me a step by step, even in theory, but if you aren't comfortable, is there someone that you recommend?
Ok.... Here's something I haven't seen before...
Bought an E4GT to use with KDDI Mobile... Clean ESN verified by Sprint. Asked KDDI to add, which they tried to add ESN to their system so that I could do hands-free activation; wasn't able to because it said fail when trying to add. Also gave MSL but no luck.
Any ideas out there? Are MVNO ESNs on a separate pool? And if so is it possible to get one reassigned from Sprint to the MVNO?
TIA

I think your going to have to flash the phone over to kddi first
Of kddi just added whatever cdma phones to their database it would hurt their business
Also I don't think sprint would let them
Just Google flashing sprint phone to kddi

Sprint is very against this, so you won't get any official help.
From what I've heard, you have to get a "donor ESN" from the carrier you're wanting to move to and flash that ESN into the device you're wanting to move.
That's the thing... From what I can tell the devices are stock Sprint. The user still uses the sprintpcs.com domain. So I'm not certain this is an identical case to Boost, Virgin or Cricket.

I'm trying to avoid that if possible. Hopefully they are able to add it as this seems to be the only holdup. And as this an actual offering by KDDI I don't see why it would not be okay... Whereas other MVNOs I believe don't carry the E4GT. (KDDI is currently out of stock and wanted $550 to upgrade her phone when available.)
Put it this way: Both Sprint and KDDI were willing to help so far including ESN verification. If they didn't approve I doubt they would have done this much, especially since I was up front about already having this E4GT on KDDI and just wanted to hook up another for the missus.

Well, until I figure out about the ESN I did find a way to get the phone on. There is a difference between my phone issued by them and this but only when trying to retrieve PRL or profile - and hopefully I'll figure that out. Will also get 4G working at some point.
In either case she's happy - she's got a better phone that ought to tide her over until the GS3 rolls out to us. Won't do much for us until November (at least what I was told by latest corp manager, is expected rollout for LTE in Chi-town)
Ok, I already searched the dev forum and this one and I get no results for THIS phone to THIS carrier.
I have an Epic 4g from Sprint (the first one that came out, not the touch) currently flashed to cricket and all is well with that flash, but I want to. Flash to iwireless. The iwireless I'm talking about is the one that uses the sprint network, not the one that uses t-mobile.
Can anyone help me with this?
I know I may have to flash back to sprint to do this but I don't see a flash anywhere for iwireless.
Ok, since no ones answering how about this,...
When I get my iwireless phone, can I use odin or something to copy files and settings etc, from it to my epic?
The only hurdle I really see other than the flashing is getting a rep to activate it on their system.
Am I better off just um....(star wars attack of the) "blank" ing it?
Sorry. No one here uses that carrier so all are unknown. You may be the first. You would use Titanium Backup to backup and restore 3rd party apps. Unless it's the same hardware
Running the same firmware then you cannot restore system settings.

I don't know about US carriers but most of epic user outside US use cdma workshop or qpstn to make it works on different carrier
Here is a link to the thread for this fix. It works for all carriers even when not on cyanogenmod. This is not my file so please thank the person who made this.

UMMM
Ok, by the responses I think I wasn't entirely clear what I am trying to do....
I have an Epic 4g, that is flashed to Cricket... everything works fine.
I now would like to flash it to a different carrier, iwireless which is a sprint mvno.
I do not see a tutorial to flash it to iwireless,... WHAT DO I NEED to do this?
I now have two iwireless phones, one is a sanyo something... the other is a samsung factor. both are cheap phones.
Is it just a matter of calling up iwireless and begging them to activate my epic's meid/esn on my account?
or do I need to flash prl and stuff? if so, since there is no tutorial, are there settings in the phones that I have already activated (on iwireless) that I can go in with cdma workshop or whatever, and copy to my Epic? and THEN call and tell them i got a phone and try not to let them know what it is?
please note, I DO NOT NEED ANY DATA OR TEXT, just talk. I use Google Voice but call latency is HORRID, which is why I need a paid service for calling, and NO I'm not gonna just get another phone cause.... there is nothing quite like my epic, I'm sure many will agree, AND this carriers android options suck anyway, my options are, sprint express, sanyo zio, kyocera milano, htc hero, lg optimus, samsung replenish. ... see, my epic HAS a keyboard, and it is the best keyboard out there. aside from the stratosphere.
All the flashing guides are pretty universal. It should be a very similar process for this new company.

Did you ever figure it out? I also use an Epic 4g and google voice, and i would like to flash to Iwireless as well. I don't have a phone for that carrier anymore so I haven't been able to try.
So, I ordered some Epics on Amazon after I burnt the motherboard connections to the Digitizer on my Huawei Activa 4G (they were $39 a piece, great deals for phones that a crapton better then the Activa's). I followed this guide down to the "T", but I can't get the Epic to connect to MetroPCS. It keeps trying to connect to Verizon. I tried the 2xxx and 3xxx MetroPCS PRL's with no luck. Is there anything I missed, or is there anyone that can help with troubleshooting? I would like to surprise my fiancee with this phone (the other one I bought) as a Christmas present, and since we are grandfathered into the unlimited data plan on Metro, I would seriously like to stay with them.
Thanks!
First thins is first, you need to get the esn added to metropcs.
If you cant add the esn in the inventory it will not work.

Did you do this?
Also keep in mind that MetroPCS is migrating or being decommissioned to T-Mobiles GSM network.
Apparently adding a new serial number to MetroPCS will kick me off the unlimited data plan, which is stupid. And, each time I try to add the ESN to MetroPCS, they give me a different excuse as to why it can't be added (device not supported, esn not valid, etc). It's starting to sound easier to set up this phone (and keep my data) myself. I'm going to try and see if I keep climbing the ladder of MetroPCS supervisors and hopefully get someone that'll be happy to keep me in my promotional plan AND set up my new phones. Else, I'm not sure what other ways to go about this. I don't think I should lose my data because my POS phone died, and I sure as hell don't want to pay $60/mo per phone when I already pay $135 for 3.

This type of response tells me that the reason it won't activate is because they will not allow a Sprint phone on their network. Period.
If you can activate T-Mobile phones under your unlimited plan then personally I would try to sell these phones (see Ting info below) for near what you paid and get a T-Mobile compatible S II or better on your plan. CM 10.1 works well on the Epic 4G but occasionally it can be a little pokey sometimes and memory is tight. Also you still need to boot into Samsung Gingerbread FC09 to activate, etc., see link below. It may be a selling point to flash these phones to CM 10.1 (definitely enable the ability to boot into FC09 as mentioned below).
Otherwise if you insist on using these this is probably your only option:
If you're lucky find a cheap Samsung Galaxy S (same as Epic 4G) that will run on Metro PCS and either use it, or if its broken, try to migrate its ESN/MSEID to the Sprint Epic 4G. I don't know how this is done, but I have read this is the way you can get competing carrier phones onto competing networks. This should allow you to activate the phone. How well it will work considering MetroPCS is ditching CDMA is just a guess.
I was going to suggest some options involving a MetroPCS hotspot, but then I thought that might not qualify under your unlimited plan?
Regarding selling them:
If you know anyone who has decent Sprint coverage and barely uses data, but still wants to use a smartphone over WiFi then convince them to buy your phone and sign-up with Ting (http://www.ting.com). Give them $25 credit with my link: https://z25ms41o9h2.ting.com/
Dual-boot from CM 10.1 into Samsung Gingerbread FC09 for PRL, Profile, Activation, Sensor Calibration:
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/01/boot-el30-stock-from-sdcard.html
Good luck!
