[Q] Contactless payment solution for the One X? - HTC One X

As we all know Google Wallet is currently not available in the UK. My question is does anyone know of any other alternative app which is compatible with the One X for making contactless payments?
NFC payment terminals have been around for a while now in shops and I have scoured the PlayStore but came up with nothing.

Thanks for the link. Looks good although it does seem to waste the NFC functionality that our phones already have...

Google wallet was supposed to be up and running already but during testing they found a loophole where crooked ppl with knowledge of rooted phones could access your account if they found your lost phone. It obviously a far fetched scenario, however still a possible one and I'm glad google hasn't enabled wallet yet until they fix this flaw. Other then that, its good to go.

Why can't we have google wallet?

So I still can't fathom why AT&T won't allow google wallet on their devices, and is there a way to obtain it? What's the point of a nfc device if I can't use the features they're intended for.
Is there a way to get it on the One X? Does rooting make this available?

Are you in the wrong sub forum?
This is Q&A yeah?
But not for the AT&T One X...
Its definitely possible, but it definitely isn't an easy process. AT&T has their stupid "ISIS" wallet-type program. That's why our phones and Google Wallet won't play nice.

Isis or Google wallet

Hey all-
I just picked up a one and I LOVE IT!
I came from a rooted galaxy nexus and Ioved the freedom of root, however the one just looked to goog to pass up eventhough we currently do not have root capabilities.
So I have gotten used to using Google wallet on a daily basis and now that I am using the one, Google wallet will not work, and the one is not supported by Isis..... Is there a work around?!
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using xda app-developers app
The One is supported by Isis. I have it on my phone. Not like there's many places to use it anyway, I have 3 places in my town where I can use it and they're all coca cola machines lol.
Are you downloading the correct Isis app? I believe there are separate ones for tmobile, at&t and Verizon in the play store.

Weird

That is exactly what my play store says when I try to download it
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using xda app-developers app
This is VERY WEIRD!
I had to factory reset my phone today. And now I can't download Isis. Can't even find it in the play store. I have to Google it and then link to the play store and then I get the not compatible message.
It WAS compatible. It was a PITA to set up too, and now it's all gone...
WTF is this crap, why would it all of a sudden not be compatible?
Sent from my HTC One.
I am new to the whole non-rooted phone scene......is there any work around to get it to work?

Google wallet will not work without significant modification. Isis requires a special sim afaik and isis sucks crap.

It's still not allowing Tap to pay for our phones.
Yeah it probably still won't allow us to tap to pay...which is the whole reason everyone wants Wallet. All the new features are just fluff.

Isis is still unavailable to us, Google wallet is n ow available. Isis just lost a major credit card company they were using, so I think they may be on their way out (hopefully) Capital One just pulled out.

Ok, yeah I already have Google wallet but wanted to try the tap to pay with Isis since we have the coke machines at work that take cards and tap to pay features.

I'd just stick with GW, sounds like ISIS is having issues. Especially with Capital One backing out.

Theres something you can flash in the general forums that fixes Google wallet but it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, the Verizon HTC one lacks secure element which is necessary to use Google wallet to make NFC payments.

Do I'm using the eclipticONE ROM which has Google wallet. I've never had this app before so I was wondering where I can use it to make NFC payments. Are there certain retailers that can take it as a form of payment?

if you go into the about section you will notice that tap n pay is unavailable. Vzw ones lack secure element chip and therefore cannot use this app. Thank Isis for this.

Chip is not needed just a software fix, there is one for the S3 and 4, also there is a NFC sim card you can get that contains a secure element.
But you then need to fool wallet into thinking you have another carriers HTC ONE. This can be done via the build.prop.
Actually there is a version of the apk floating around with it done in app not sure it will work here

Currently using on my Verizon S3, had planned on trying it out on HTC ONE this weekend. But idjet brother couldn't be bothered to answer the door so I have to wait a few more days.
I'll look for the thread that got me started
---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:04 PM ----------
OK so here is the S3 Thread that helped me get tap and pay working, I started reading around page 330. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083
Also I'm thinking if you have the NFC sim you could try the ASOP version in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400143
Again I have yet to test any of this myself since still waiting on my phone but thinking it will probably work. If not then we will need a similar LIB fix as the S3/S4 uses
Well using those guides I installed Google Wallet and its asking me to setup tap and pay. I need to see if I can get one of my parents to help me test it tomorrow or sometime soon if someone else doesn't try before me.
BTW im on Cyanogen Rom and I think i have the verizon nfc sim.

Google wallet

Anyone see the Google wallet on their BlinkFeed ? Saying there is an update coming this week that will allow it on any android phone running android 2.3 or higher nfc not required this better affect our phone sick of not having Google wallet don't understand how att would allow this I thought they were onboard with Isis

Still doesn't allow payments via "tapping your phone" with NFC. Just lets you send money to people who have a email address and a bank account linked to it, it's basically PayPal.

How bout you take out your debit card or cash and pay like a normal person. I would never trust my bank info to a cell phone app.

Anyone that buys something off of the play store already puts that info on their phone to be fair.

That solves it. I've never bought anything from the store to be honest. Well I did have to enter it in when I bought my nexus 4 last year. BTW I wasn't trying to be harsh. I've just seen threads with frustrated people asking why g wallet doesn't work on their device. Even when I had it on my gnex i used it a few times. When I had it on my n 4 I never used it. I think I tried at at almost every place to see if I could get used to it. Most retailers don't even have that activated at their pos system. I found it faster to pull out my card.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I'm holding out hope that this will make nfc work any skeptics go read latest info for Google wallet in play store all you haters and paranoid im not putting my credit card on internet lol
You sound like my dad
That's what credit cards are for purchasing things and not being liable of you didn't make transaction lol.
Sorry for being optimistic.
We will know more by end of week
Read this and tell me what you get from it. Maybe our device won't be one of them but what I read and posted earlier today said all phones android 2.3 and higher.
I just dont see why they would do this just so we can send money to people in gmail ? And it says nfc
Nfc would have nothing to do with sending money to people threw email.
Who knows just something I'll keep my eye on ans thought you all might want to also. No one is forcing you to use it

After reading a few posts I went to the store to check out some more info and it let me install. This wasn't the case this morning, I just did a clean Rom flash and looked for ****s and giggles and at that time it said not compatible.
I'm at home, so won't be able to test much in store till tomorrow.

Yea after running threw the app I see nothing about nfc.
Here's hoping a secure SIM will open up nfc. Not gonna hold my breath...

Just got excited when I saw it worked on my phone I thought it had to do with me running the new at&t leaked rom. But like others said don't see tap to pay anywhere like my brothers htc one sprint

Hmm the app installs fine on mine per the article link above. Went to Play Store directly without some mod app. Haven't tried to use it to pay. Oh the article said NFC payment still requires a supported phone to do so. Not sure about the One.

This new wallet is not the NFC payment version. It is basically to get access to send/receive money via Google Wallet
