Hi there,
Just bought the HTC One V. The phone is really good so far but i have one issue with it, the bottom cover leaves a slight gap. i cut my sim card for it and there is still a gap.
Does anyone else has this issue?
Any suggestions
Thanks
Idon't have the issue. Mine fits perfectly. You shoul probably ask for a replacement.

I have problems with One V bottom cover too. It leaves a slight gap od the bottom left side (if you look the back of the phone).
This is my third One V.
First one had yellow ring around the display edges, T-mobile got me new immediatley. On second one display got unglued from the phone?!?!? I was amazed!! They gave me new next day.
And now the third one has problems with bottom cover.
I tried 3 different brand new phones in the T-mobile store and they all had this issue.
Honestly, now I hate this phone!
Can someone find why bottom cover cannot fit. Is microphone rubber pushing it out of the socket or is it somethig else??
Replacement. Mine doesn't have a gap either.

Anyone got a problem with the fit of the sim cover?
I didn't notice any gapping when I took the phone out of the box but after fitting sim card, when I replace the sim cover there is a distinct gap....very small, much less than 1mm.
I've had the cover on an off half a dozen times but can't get it to fit back snugly
hi eric,
lucky me, i've taken the cover off and on a few times, and everything is as it was... but a friend of mine has your problem too, i told him this place and he will post soon!
regards,
markus
Hi!
I've the same problem.
The gap of the SIM cover is about 0.5mm.
As far as I remember it didn't exist when I unpacked the phone.
EDIT:
even without SIM and microSD the gap exists...
Here's a pic:
Same problem here.
We are not the only one. I have noticed a lot of complains on different review sites about this problem.
MAIL/CALL HTC FOR THIS PROBLEM !!
We have sensor issus that not solved for many people and now this pff HTC WY !!!
My cover had a gap after I took it off for the first time but I managed to get it back on with no gap

The first time I put mine back on earlier today it looked exactly like that, just try it again a few times until it slots into the right position.
@combat:
how did you manage it?
@MrGarak:
I've tried it several times (20+) without success

How can you tell us or can you make a video ?
Mine is like that not happy at all

as well as sliding on from either side i put a tiny amount of pressure on the middle to keep it down so the plastic guides were in line
My sim cover sticks out on the right side (looking from top to bottom). Any way we can buy a new one?

Mine is the same after the initial fit of the SD card, I will have another go at it .

Not only a poor fit and a gap! but the quaity of it is just pathetic!
It crumbled and kinked between my fingers the first time I tried to remove it.
Why on earth bother to make a perfect alloy housing and chassis and then stick a flimsy piece of plastic on the thing! It should be made from alloy too!
Not happy customer here

Didn't work for me. I've tried perhaps 2 dozen times, always get the gap .
It is clicking into place though so at least its secure
The gap between the screen and the case is also slightly wider at the top than the bottom. Maybe the bottom cover is fitting perfectly and its the rest of the case that's slightly off?!?!
You guys probably have phones from some early production batch since mine fits perfectly, no problems what so ever.
First of all you cant make the cover from alluminum - the antenna woun't work. Second - my phone had a nasty gap when I bought it, but when I installed my SIM I took great care in closing the cover. The gap isn't there any more. You have to position the cover correctly in fully open position, then press LIGHTLY on the cover where the two locking teeth are ang GENTLY slide it in position. It worked for me. And remember that you have to be very gentle with it, because it can break easyly and AFAIK there are no replacements for now...

Sim Card Too Big?
Just got mine today and I had the same issue, think mine was because my sim card (a t-mobile one I've had for, dunno, at least 4 or 5 years now?) was slightly too long. I noticed the little ridges on the inside of the cover were leaving small dents in the sim card where I'd been shoving, so I used a nail file to remove a tiny amount from the blank end of the card and it seems to shut a lot better now.
Going to to try to fix the gap on the battery cover next...
Don't get me wrong, love the phone, but it has got to be one of the worst unboxing experiences ever, forcing you to fiddle with these two ****ty little plastic covers before you can use your expensive new toy. I seriously thought I'd broken my battery cover trying to get it off before I've even got to unwrapped the battery!
Just watched the various videos on you tube at the launch yep the gap is there .. seems normal I've put a gel cover over mine so not overly concerned

Hi All
Like the title suggests I've got a One X which I had got through an insurance claim (Could be refurbished). Everything's fine but the screen seems to be coming off on the left hand side. I feel the epoxy resin which holds the screen together on top of the main board assembly could be reason. On the right hand side it seems to be perfect and glued to the main assembly seamlessly.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Best Regards
Ven
There is nothing u can do but return or repair it, it's a defected screen glue
Return it as defective

Hi Guys,
From youtube videos (I know great source of info) it seems that removing back cover on HOX is quite easy.
So two questions come to mind first one no one makes entire back cover replacements in many colours?
Also anyone know where I could get the least original white back cover?
I want to sell my HOX and camera lens is scratched. Does not interfer with pictures due to location of it but still.
Cheers,
Luka
I found a lot of them when looking for a black and white one.

it's not that simple!!
at first you will void your warranty as soon as you detach the cover...then believe me that it's very difficult and you could damage the inner frame or other components, since there's a lot of glue that make you feel the phone very solid in your hands...
but believe me that it's a real pain to change the cover...the most difficult part of opening your phone...
however you should do it just if it's stricly necessary imho...
Nah it's really easy. Takes 10 mins to switch over. There is no glue really. For the most part it is clipped on.
I say go for it. I got my white original cover off ebay for £30.
my camera lens also got little scratched. Is there any chance to replace it only? anyone with the same problem?

Maybe we have different version of One X...
I repaired my touchscreen and my htc was full of glue and sticker anywhere...it was the hardest part for me to detach the cover!
However could you tell me where to buy a black one low cost and new?
Thank you!
You got your white original cover off ebay for £30, can u provide the link of the stuff here?
I would be very happy if i could change my display since its screwed haha...and dont change the back cover, take one of those silikon cases

My One X has a creaking corner, where the original back cover seems to give in a little. Any guesses if getting a replacement (because the camera lens also has a few scratches) would help? Maybe the fit would be better... or is the creaking problem something related to how the phone itself sits inside the cover, and getting a new back would be pointless?
Has someone experiences with cases from Hong Kong?
They are cheaper and include the SIM Tray...

After putting the whole thing back together, doesn't the phone start creaking, especially at the bottom part?
No
Opened mine 2 times and the bottom fits better than when it came out of the box.
Only opened it to clean the camera lens from inside and always used the same cover it came with.

Great! That's really nice to hear.
Changed mine from black to white... After changing, my phone is more solid then the out-of-the-box black... Wifi reception is better... Needa change it after my friend knocked my hand while crossing the road... Screen is intact and unscathed though...

does the back cover also including the lens cover or it's hole on that part?

Yep, lens is included.
anyone have their old grey one and want to sell it?
Anyone have this issue? Go half way down the right hand side of your M8 with thumb on front and index finger on rear then pinch together. I've not noticed before, but when I do that now it creaks like its loose or there is some 'give'.
This is not actually mine, but the problem is similar but less extreme to this:
Creaking htc one m8 screen: http://youtu.be/TfGlX84bGgw

Having just replaced the rear housing on my M8, this problem no longer exists. I'm not exactly sure what was causing it, possibly a loose catch. But since replacing the housing it's completely gone now.

I have exactly the same complaint. I've incidentally explored this creak and feeling quite frustrated since what I mostly feel positive about this device is its gorgeous build quality. I've watched some disassembly videos and seen that most of the phone parts including board and screen is seperated from the back cover. Changing the back cover is the last option for me since I've bought this device not so long time ago. Anyone come across this issue?
I purchased a second hand (bad move) HTC One M8. It arrived in the mail with the screen bent off on both sides (see image below). I wanted to know if there is any way to fix this before I send it off to where I bought it from.?
Thanks
Its possible that the battery has gone bad and is starting to off gas. Since the battery is sealed it will start to swell up.
I have seen it happen on iPhones and an M7 (also seen it on devices with removable batteries but in those cases the battery door pops off).
With the M7 the center of the LCD appeared closer to the glass while the top and bottom seemed a tad further away. But it too had the adhesive come loose and the glass bow on the sides.
Id send it back.
Send it back

I had a similar issue, noticed slight screen lift on the right side, worse in the middle of the right edge. Turns out bezel was warped, so glue gave away as screen struggled to straighten out.
I sent in. They replaced the whole bezel.
I had this happen to my HTC One X after I replaced the LCD and did a poor job of reassembling.
Definitely should have been mentioned in the item description, so send it back. You didn't get what you paid for.
