I want to start this thread to collect all Chinese ROMs like joyos, mokee, shendu and so on and their experiences in daily use, because most of them are already ported to defy.
I will add links and screenshot when i am back at home. Perhaps someone likes the idea and want to help or share his experiences, too.

So i will check the next couple of day the shendu rom and will post my expierences.
One bug allready found, whatsapp plus, always shown one line, no matter how much text it is
It would be cool if you could provide some screenshots
So I tested ShenDU and joyos for a couple of days and they are both very smooth. Both are based on cm7 and you can install any app from cm7 like dsp or radio without any problem. Joyos includes only chinese and english, but with a like localeswitch(er) you get all your data app in your mothertounge and only menues are english.
If anybody knows more roms please tell me, i will try them.

If its based on ics, means that based on quarx 03.08 build or based on miui v4?
Can you share some informations with us?

Has it the same ics bugs as cm9?
So i tested qiss me some time, it looks really amazing and i love the music app with a touch of cover flow, BUT the performance is like miuis v4. After some time it gets laggy and slow. But they update it constantly, in fact the changelog is in chinese, i dont know what they update. I will keep it in mind a try to update it every time and tell you if it gets stable enough for daily use.
Try instal ram manager. It's reduce the lag problem.

exactly, but except MIUI.
both CM and MIUI roms rock, others are just modded to have different look. Most of the other ROMs looked like themed MIUI. :-/

Some of them are quite nice, so qissOs is like a themed Miui but looks really nice, joyos is ios looking so hate it or love it.
And new stuff is quite difficult as i dont speak any asian language and understanding threads translated with google isnt easy, too. But if some one find a new nice rom or speak a asian language, he or she can tell us if there is something which should be tried.

I just found that he started to release ICS/CM9 for defy and defy plus.
I will update this post as soon as I try it out, albeit on multiboot.

It's not based on Quarx or Epys Built but REPO and compiled by Fuzz with probably personnal change before it's possible pushed to REPO .
Very good ROM Web Browser don't lag with this built but lag with Quarx built 22 or 25 .

I think the camera issue can not be resolved by any single person. You can see the thread in Galaxy S+ forum that most of the people are working together.

I think you haven't checked MIUIv4, more and 95% of the things are working, I am also using it on daily basis.

Haha, it could be your and most of the people wish, but once camera get matured in ICS , there will be no need of GB as I think.
Because currently in GB there are a lot of issues, like app update, battery drain, not full theme support, but MIUIv4 doesn't have these kind of bugs. only camera is lacking.

A Mod which makes our Wonder to a time machine.
Possible scenario: We travel 40 years back, go to the 5-year-old-future-Samsung-managers home, kick him in his butt and tell him: "You better support ICS for the Galaxy W in future or I will tell your mommy"
I would say job done, arco and all of us have a WONDERful future.

I have already asked acro68 to help me to build CM7 from sources. But first thing is that Its not that easy, secondly arco68 is too busy and the help and effort required for CM7 can not communicated on PM or Emails. It requires a lot of time, effort and proper guidance which currently I dont have.
I would appreciate that If anyone take initiative and build CM7.

Whilst I don't really want to be "that guy", an idea isn't development - this topic belongs over in general.
Good luck with this though. Do some research on porting and try it out for yourself. It's definitely possible.
I'd suggest perhaps sending a couple of PM's to koaaN. He recently ported an ICS Nexus S ROM which itself had originally been ported from the Xperia Arc S.
Who knows? - he might have some tips for you.

It is a highly tweaks version of android it is a much a different os as is cyanogenmod as or aokp or miui or lewa or joy

This rom isn't based on MIUI rather is inspired by it, It is CyanogenMod with the ability to use MIUI Frameworks and system themes! : P
All of the other MIUI components like the Keyboard and so on are what I've chosen to add to round it off as a true MIUI clone; but this rom is quite a bit faster than 'true' MIUI.
Plus it doesn't use Baidu's location service so that's whats up.
Edit: ETA 15 minutes
OK new build is posted, worth nothing that when the phone first boots up it will have the 'default' system theme, so it won't look much different than standard CM until you apply a MIUI theme to it in the theme manager

The fact that It's not MIUI but a 'variant' of CM10 that can apply MIUI Framework themes and has all the MIUI things people love without the lag, bloat, and location related scum of Baidu

To those who want to use ColorOS which was discontinued by dear AL IRAQI here is the latest release.
I did not do anything but sharing it here. I hope it is OK by every body.
All credits goes to the OPPO developers, and to the developer of the gaps (which I'm not sure who is it).
If anything is not appropriate by this please feel free to comment and put things right.
I did a clean install and installed the ROM and the gaps and all works fine for me.
The ROM first boot in Chinese so play a bit until you get to the home screen click settings and change the language to English. In settings scroll down until you see a keyboard like icon it is the language and input settings.

I did a clean install and installed the ROM and the gaps and all works fine for me.
The ROM first boot in Chinese so play a bit until you get to the home screen click settings and change the language to English. In settings scroll down until you see a keyboard like icon it is the language and input settings.

+1 it's agreat looking OS but being stuck back on 4.2.2 is what makes me not want to install it.
4.2.2 had too many issues with my device, heating, poor battery, there's a long list.
Now that MIUI has gone 4.4 maybe color OS will follow suit.
I hope so becoz the ROM looks fresh
I guess 4.4 will arrive at some point, but the UI is so good that I decided to go with it for a while. As all TW roms it is not smooth as aosp but at least BT works and the UI.....

Oh and another thing I switched to this ROM from miui new release and so far this is as smooth as the miui ROM.

hi guys, i remember i had this rom about half a year on my s4 and i remember that it was a very good rom, but when you slide the notification bar to use the toggles it was laggy, i mean really laggy....other than that i dont remember if there was something else wrong with it, can someone confirm the lag and list the bugs.....THANKS
I don't have this excessive lag.
ROM is pretty smooth and as I wrote before, coming from miui 4.4.2 it performs the same and even better.

Another thing since it is 4.2.2 it does not suffer from the mess they introduced in 4.4 regarding permissions for writing to external storage etc.

You can try language enabler by Wanam it opens some other languages I think Turkish is there.

I tried with my limited knowledge but failed. It looks like all the needed files are there but the keyboard does not install. I'm sure that someone with better knowledge will be able to do it.
