Hello,
in these days, i flashed a rom - and forgot to install an adblocker.
the aggressive advertising is a reason for me to use adblockers, and many other only visit xda with adblocker.
a friend of mine (who had not blocked the 3rd party services. at his provider, has now an abbonement, where he pays
€.4. 99 A WEEK!
look the attached Screenshot and tell me what you think. plplease, admins, end aggressive advertising - you only will have more users with adblocker.
the following Screenshot is from a visit at xda. no fake?. translate the text in english and you'll get it that that advertising makes users like me and
my friend angry. VERY ANGRY!
note: with a simple click on that page, and you have a DAMN Abonnement!
my friend has activated his lawyer to get out of the abbonement. overthink your advertising!

that ad pop out without any warning.
USE ADBLOCKERS.
I'm sure the admins will remove this provider from the ad network soon. Thanks for the detailed description and screen shot.
the provider is "W2K Mobile" - and already tv programmes tried to stop em with reports on tv. just google "w2k abofalle" and translate the found sites... surprise...
XDA ADMINS, OVERTHINK YOUR STRATEGY.
I'm pretty sure the admins are aware and trying to deal with this but I'll raise the issue on your behalf.
Thanks.

it's like 29 pages long and even lists some of the apps they hide in. It covers all phones but the Android used 20 of the pages i believe

i hate not being able to read sarcasm..
So, wait, one shouldn't install apps from unknown developers with poor descriptions, a ton of unnecessary permissions, and no reviews?
What's new here, exactly?

Tell me what you think!!
On a thread opening spree today, are we?
On a side note, did you create this app? There is already a popular ad blocking app called "AdAway." If it is the same app, you probably shouldn't redistribute it without permission or proper credit to the developer.

I Want To Keep This Guide Simple!
I Know All Members Here Are Annoyed With Ads Between The Posts And Everywhere on the forum and hence i had the idea to share this with you people.
First of all u have to switch to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
Chrome: http://www.filehippo.com/download_google_chrome/
Firefox: http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/
Now there is an extension named Ad Blocker Plus, Installl It On Your Browser
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-plus/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
It Will Automatically Disable All The Ads On Any Website U Go
Enjoy!!
Man, I don't want to be rude but this thread shouldn't even exist. This site lives because of that ads you are stopping. Everything on this site is free and the only way to keep it this way is that ads. Is not OK if you do that for yourself, and is even worse if you incite other users to do it. Is just a bad thing. Imagine if everybody would do that: no ads = no money = no XDA. Just my 0.02$.

Ad block is well known extension but encouraging people to use it to block ads on XDA is a bit too much...
Common sense applies here.
Thread closed.
Last month I purchased Ad-free on an ongoing monthly basis, last month it showed up and ads were removed, this month even though payment was taken ads are shown and the 'ad-free' which appeared next to my name on posts is no longer there.

That's not good. Sorry you've had this issue.
@bitpushr is the server admin who has access to all the magic buttons - he may be the best one to check on this.
Otherwise @MikeChannon may also know how to fix this?

THIS. How do I stop this? I've scanned my network, and installed the "Privacy Pass" addon and I'm STILL getting this stupid message.

There are some threads about this.
XDA is under constant attack from spammers and the like.
I believe this happens more often if you are editing long posts, try to avoid doing that.
XDA is moving to a different forum platform, soon like in a few days.
Some security measures may be relaxed after the change.

@GuyInDogSuit I know it doesn't help or will satisfy you but even I as a moderator occasionally get the captchas pending on my action. @sd_shadow explained the reasons well. And I apologise but I can't tell you how it will look like after the transition to Xenforo.
Yeah this usually happens when we try to edit very long posts. In the meantime of the transition to XenForo, a workaround to avoid captcha is to split long posts in 2 shorter posts, like explained here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/labs-t3241866/post83621087
