I rooted this one x but want to take to stock. My question is does the ruu run right from the phones hboot menu?
Since no external sd if I download ruu direct to phone and power into hboot will it do its thing or is a pc required ?
I'm used to renameing the ruu to a .IMG
When I did this on other htc devices
Also am I to rename the ruu to something specific?
Any links to the latest ruu for the atat one x
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Ann RUU is an EXE that you run with your phone connected in fastboot mode to the computer
Then what is the method used like on other devices like evo and thunderbolt
Where you download it rename it to pc36img and boot into hboot and it reads that and.returns phone to stock what's different with the hox
So what do I need to do Downlosd it to a pc connect via usb and put into fastboot and then hit exe in the ruu folder
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
This is the process to go back stock as long as you have the correct RUU for your One X.
Go into fastboot, flash stock recovery (make sure it's the correct one)
Then fastboot oem lock
Then keep it in fastboot and run the RUU.exe, follow the process and it should do the rest

Put phone in fastboot, connect to pc and relock your bootoader (fastboot oem lock) then double click the ruu on your pc. Job done. You don't need stock recovery for a ruu as the ruu contains it

This happens sometimes, when you use the method with the PB99IMG files. I recommend (independent from your error) to use fastboot for flash actions like hboots, radios or recoverys. Imho, its the safest way.

I never read that it would be possible to flash hboot with goldcard. Even if this is possible, fastboot is the safest way to flash hboot and i highly recommend to do so.

Thought I would post rom.zip from inside the RUU Release:
Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2_Radio_47.23a.35.3035H_7.53.39.03M_release_225747
It's downloadable as a PG76IMG.zip file for those who are able to/want to flash it from Hboot instead of RUU connected to computer method.
I flashed my upgrade this way and it fully upgraded Radio, Hboot, Microp, etc.
I was XTC Clip S-OFF of course. It did not S-ON the phone.
Directions:
1/ Download the file.
2/ Place it on the root of your SD Card.
3/ Power down and remove and replace battery.
4/ Hold Volume Down and Power On buttons at the same time.
5/ Follow the directions on screen.
6/ Replace file with your custom recovery and flash it if need be.
Enjoy.

This is simply the stock rom extracted from the RUU installer. Nothing more. Nothing less.
This File is signed by HTC.
So you dont need S-off to flash this Rom.
This is not for the A510e ?
Or?

Your phone is branded so use a goldcard or a ruu with the correct cid.
theq86 posted in another thread that it's possible to install this with an unlocked bootloader without a gold card.
Here's his instructions:

extract the zip.
Copy:
boot.img
system.img
to your Android directory (where you have fastboot and adb)
boot into hboot, mark fastboot, hit power button and attach usb cable
now open a command shell:

fastboot flash system system.img <-- will flash stock rom
now go to hboot, factory reset and restart

Hello everyone,
I have an international HTC One X with CID HTCCN701, and I would like to install CM10.1.
I am not a noob , and I have already installed a Jelly Bean ROM after unlocking. However, I am currently on hboot version 1.12 S-ON Unlocked, and I could not find a hboot that is for my CID which fits the requirements (Version 1.28 or higher)
Moreover, though I know how to flash hboot, it would be great if anyone can provide a method to update hboot without changing the present ROM, recovery, and data on the device.
Thank you!
P.S. Please do not tell me to search; I cannot find a firmware here for HTCCN701
Does anyone have a solution?

Yes, I think there is 1.29 RUU, but isn't the hboot contained in it not up to date?
And, I have already checked for updates when I was on stock ROM back in mid June.

Thanks, but are you sure it will just refuse to flash if it is a fake? Because I saw on the forums that if a wrong firmware is flashed, the device could be bricked.
Another question is that is it possible to upgrade hboot without modifying system and data?

You would need s-off for it to flash if it's fake and upgrading the hboot doesn't wipe system or data , although unlocking the boot loader does
