slight bump on back. anybody else? - HTC One X

It's been over a month since I got my beautiful One X. It's been flawless(except the battery life, of course)
About 2 days back while caressing my phone in my hand during a movie, I felt a slight 'bump' on the back, right above the HTC logo. It is not easily visible - but surely there.
GSMArena also had this bump on their 360-degree spin model.

Is it widespread, or a serious issue? should I ask for a replacement from HTC?

Mine has it too, didn't even notice
let's hope it's not a foamy LiPo battery

as far as i know every device has this bump. but its nothing wrong with it.

Hello, mine don't have this bump and is totally flat ...

Oh! you absolutely sure? do you have a carrier-branded device?
Also, is your phone the global quad-core version, or the LTE/dual core one?
__
If the bump doesn't exist on brand new phones, can it be a result of the frequently-heating Tegra processor on a regularly used device? I've received a warning once from my battery widget, which said battery temp above ideal temperature.
I personally feel this can be risky business due to the fact that puffed up batteries aren't exactly safe

No bump on my EU model, totaly flat, but it's 5 days old.

Yes i'm sure, totally flat ... but can't take photo to show you now.
I don't know what mean "carrier-branded" phone but mine is branded ( SFR in France )
and there is no brand "tag" on case ( stock case ) if that was what you mean ...
My serial number is HT23NWxxxxxx if it can help identifying a faulty serie ...

mines totally flat too. unbranded uk

Noticed it today, too
Was bored, waiting for the lunch to arrive and flipped the phone around in my Hand in gelt it.
Glas to See Brothers have it, too.
Bit Mine has a minimal bump.
Barely noticeable

Mine's flat..got it now for 3weaks and its a-ok

mine has a very slight bump on my htc one x white european version, i think this is normal part of the manufacturing process, its ever so slight and you can only detect it atcertain angles and your fingers have to be very sensitive to feel it,
not a big deal,

Bump
mine has a minor bump, its been like two weeks i bought it.. i am worried cuz i don't have any warranty with it.. I infact googled it they sent me to this thread.. anyhooo glad to find out that many of us having the bump and by reading all the comments it seems like the bump increases with the time so its because of the heat the cpu plus gpu generates..
had to stop gaming like crazy on it

Can you imagine a car body made of that plastic
Damn...I had no idea how decent it was. I guess Samsung really know their hardware.

Yea, I figured it wouldn't be that brittle.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Normally when you bend plastic , it goes white at the bend point as is damaged/weakened , no sign of that here
This grade of plastic is more expensive than aluminium, and for good reasons. Im happy I have this phone and not one with an aluminium cover.
Great, I thought mine was going to break when taking it off lol
that's pretty damn impressive.
Not even fatigue
im amazed, but has anyone else tried this with theirs?

I was about to but then i looked inside my pants and realised my balls are not big enough.
Before people go trying this are we sure this is not third party? Don't recognise the logo under the camera, unless it's a carrier one?
I've tried it with mine, no problem at all.. It pop's right back to it's original state.. Did it however when temperatures were high (>25 Celcius), somehow i get the feeling that matters also a bit..
By the way.. The logo is of Anycall, it's the Korean telecom division from Samsung.
thats awesome, seems better than the SE Vivaz battery cover (my last phone)...
there's been no day i havent found something new and awesome about my SGSII =)
lmao nice one tbh first time i took it off was like omg its gonna break now i just rip it off lol but put my mind at rest im not gonna damage it
Has anybody tried bending their backcover like in the video, just in case it was a special rubber one
No way.. I wont try it
When I first took the cover off my new SGS2, I was extremely disappointed to see how flimsy the back cover was and was handling it like it was going to snap at any second..
Very nice to see that it is pretty strong, although I have no intention of testing the hardiness of my own one
Gutsy
It definitely took balls for that guy to try it on the video the first time. We can't even try it after seeing a demonstration!
I got so relieved when i saw that video xD
Got so scared the couple times i had to remove it
"Oh god, need to open the case again, its totally gonna break now!"
My thought every single time xD

just ruined my one x screen due to flex issue.

Ok here's a warning to all of you, the edges of the screen are very sensitive to pressure I noticed the other day light pressure on the edge of the bezel would make my screen discolored, I just took my phone out of my pocket now and I have a yellow vertical band down the right hand side of my screen, I'm guessing my phone squeezed in my pocket when I got in the car for work this morning, just a warning to everyone be ultra gentle with your screens. :-( not happy.
having tested and unboxed over 15 HOXes
i can confirm to you some of them ripple under light pressure, some under some effort and few impossible to ripple
the ripple is a sign of imperfect screen lamination, if your's was very sensitive to begin with than it was defected out of box and hence the damage you have now
out of the 15 i tried, only one of them that my cousin own is completely ripple free no matter how hard you push
the one im talking about feels completely different to the rest, its extremely rigid on both left and right sides with such a tight gap that no dust can get it, like i said it has been an impossible task for me to find another one like it, this one is also perfectly clean and even on whites when viewed at every angle, ie: its lamination is flawless, early HT23 white
something is seriously messed with HTC screen fitting and its only time before more and more cases like this will appear
This phone gets better by the day...
Might dump it on ebay and .....
This is rediculous.... somone with money and power DO SOMETHING!!!!
Mod edit: Edited for language
The glass is pretty fragile anyway TBH. Mine has been in a pocket on it's own and still managed to become scratched after a week, whereas my last iPhone 4 went about two years without getting a mark on either side!

You should get a Samsung device, I here each of their displays are identically perfect. Seriously, I've never seen a mobile device forum where there weren't a percentage of complaints about the display. You can't build millions and have every unit perfect. Google "iPad/iPhone display issues" and you'll see no one's immune.

Thats the good thing about being able to manufacture your own screens and not have to rely on 3rd parties I suppose. Imagine being able to buy a HTC phone with a Samsung screen in it! Minus all the Hardware issues too!
Oh wait, were you being sarcastic!?!? lol

Another ONE X "hard to break" video

I guess not posted here yet!
http://youtu.be/cuv0VMBkWZ0
crazy video
damn,its water proff...BIG LIKE!!!
never come s3
look this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=e3ri6vrmPbc
I'm kinda confused, a lot of people complaining about screen being prone to scratch, a lot complaining about not being gorilla glass etc etc...
As the other guy how had his one x going down from the second window floor and still working fine.
Had switch my yellowish Xperis S to th one X that arrived at home today but i'm on a trip so tomorrow is a big day, huge expectation about it after frequenting this forum for like 2 weeks now!
Hopefully no screen flex, bad screen ripple, gps or any other issue!

How can that be possible cant belive ...
Wow these videos are amazing, at least i don't have to worry about my phone too much now. Especially after that one dude on here dropped his from a window and it survived
Beat that SIII
Shock & awe!
just plain wow! Now I'm prouder with my HTC One X more than ever!
Next time I get into an argument with an iPhone or Samsung user, I'm gonna smash his brains in with my HOX!!!!
Even better, someone should do a phone fight off video, where they smash the phones against each other, like HOX vs SIII or HOX Vs iPhone!!!
One day before my protective screen arrived I accidentally dropped my work phone over the HOXs' screen. It's a heavy blackberry and I was sure it would have damaged the screen. To my surprise there was not a single micro scratch there. Nonetheless the protective screen arrive and I´m happy to have it on
My HOX got run over
So today i dropped my HOX and my mates car ran it over... needless to say i was crapping my pants when i was picking it up to see the damage but to my surprise nothing!!!!! Not even a scratch, dent or anything! I am using a plastic case and a screen protector so that would have absorbed a lot of the punishment but still very happy no damage to the phone!

as you see in the previous picture
in the upper part of the screen there is a less than 1 cm bar thick, which is much whiter than the rest of the screen and there is a smile face and clip icon on the right of that bar
its identical to whatsapp chat bar
the problem is that this bar is like a back light on the screen its showing in the screen where ever you are at and its so clear to see on a white or gray back grounds its even noticeable on CWM , its so annoying and defecting the beautiful screen of my note 2. :crying:
cant seem to understand how or why that happened
could it be that my screen is a defected unit ?? cuz my brother's note 2 is just fine
right now i dont know what to do i asked a mobile's repair shop for new screen and he said it will cost me 300$ (its half price of a new device)
here is more pix
*note : it may be no so clear to see on those pictures but in real its so clear and ugly
I have heard issue of Screen burn

so the only solution is to replace the screen with new one right ???
and do u think that the one year guarantee that came with the device should cover this ??
thanks all for helping
i make up my mind
the screen is so annoying cant live with it and even the colors tune is less brighter than it was and more yellow-ish i started to hate the phone cuz of the screen
and the new screen will cost me 300$ and its too much its almost a price of a new mid range android device
i decided to sell it and buy HTC one but not so sure
i will think about it and do some researches on the HTC one and see if it is good enough
damn you samsung you always disappoint me with your super amoled problems

[Q] Questions About ZeroLemon Battery Health & State of Life

Is yours kinda bulgy and lumpy, does it sit almost half way out of the phone?
I noticed mine has a few bumps and bulges where the 3 batteries are and that made me wonder if one of more of them were exploded and if it'd still work with one part being exploded and the rest one or two not being impacted by it.

Mines like that to so I wouldn't worry about it if anything they probably would maybe send you a different one
Sent from my SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The back of mine is bumpy, two bumps where the top two batteries are then bottom battery is solid and flat but sits in the compartment rather cockeyed raising up up and out at a angle... Also I typically get a days use out of it now suddenly. Bought it used, dunno if it was defective or I damaged it by keeping phone on a constant charge more so than usual. But I thought/figured the two top batteries were supposed to be at a solid flat level, not a humpity hump level.
Bumps....yeh
Got those too....but the ZL works perfectly...g

As long as you don't like bend it or get it really really hot you'll be alright man you will notice the phone messing up and not charging stuff like that if it goes bad
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Here's the battery, even the tech at the phone repair shop said that's not normal. Also the bulging got so bad the cover wouldn't fit anymore, around the s-pen slot it would never stay sealed and closed there,
