my lights work perfectly fine every ROM i've tried and have tried most other than couple ics ROM's . So wouldn't blame the ROM as the cause.

Its def possible, and was just throwing it out as a possibility. Without actually holding your phone its not really feasible to expect an exact diagnosis. therefore people throw possibilities out for you to check out since you are the one with it in hand.
But whatever, since you feel the need to be a **** I could less give a damn about any further assistance.

loooool

solved
if anyone encounters this, i got it fixed
seems the only way is to get back to in-box state (stock and format all ur storage)
then root, flash whatever u want

This happened with all three of the SII's that are in the family and its unlikely that they are all defective seeing as how they are all running on the same ROM. Doesn't bother us much though, we know were the keys are located

i know but i like the beauty of it
flashed a custom rom and am back to the same problem
if stock is doing good why are all roms having this problem ?

I wish we could get a dev to look into this!

[Q]How TO brick my phone

So yeah just wondering. Like say there was stuff on my phone that I had to get rid of, and make sure there was no way to have anyone access it. Not saying there is, was, or will be anything like that on my phone but just wondering. I'd like to render it completely unusuable so that not even the most skilled techie could get I to it. Mainly want to do this when i get a new phone and have my desire as a project to see if I could reanimate it. Any ideas at all? Besides physical damage like smashing it.

WARNING: BRICKING CAN PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR PHONE AND OS NOT RECOMMENDED TO DO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
But if you do for some reason WANT to brick your phone just install a PD198 from a phone thats not yours.
Once again, I very much suggest that you DONOT do this and if you really want to get rid of your phone after you get a new one, I'm willing to take it off your hands!

Yeah a bit. Watched a few of his "unboxing" videos. Already handy phone completely apart a few times but not really for that reason. Next time I do I'll see if I can do something. I go to a technical school too for electronics and nanofabrication so I could also make any additional modifications to the board if needed.

Here's my take on this. You want to know where to find out when ICS drops for this device within minutes of it happening or Samsung/T mobile/Telus announcing it? XDA will know within minutes. You aren't going to find a better source than this forum. The guy working in a call center didn't know sh#t compared to this community. I'm willing to bet there are a good amount of software developers from any companies with the info that are active XDA users. When they have the ability to release the info our a new leak is found, we'll know in short time.

They have same GPU.
Reading through the original thread. The positive results were negligible at best. many people were experiencing lower scores and lines and other artifacts when playing some games.
So probably not worth the soft brick or worse, to find out if it's compatible with our device.

Actually all it did was replace a few lib files which wouldn't brick the phone. So you, please be quiet. Because YOU don't even know what would happen. Lib's are coded files that are linked to kernel for both system and kernel work. THAT is what he changed, but he cannot hard brick his phone like that.
billydroid said:
Ok this is absurd. Alphadog did not flash for fear of bricking his phone. That's why he was asking for other people with "balls" to flash it. Also saying Ita for cm9, it's not.
Now since this guy didn't trash his phone. He knew everything was going to be fine.
You should not try and talk people into flashing stuff not specifically for our phones. Especially when you yourself won't do it.

Well I got smart and looked over the zip and found out it was just libs, so right there I knew nothing was going to happen. But, if we are going to fight about an ICS Driver update, that shows the level of where the T989 community is going.

[Request] Samsung Keypad from SGS3!

Hi everyone, I'm new to posting on this forum but I'm not new to viewing these threads haha well anyways I thought it would be nice to be able to use the Samsung keypad from the SGS3 on my E4GT! I personally like how it's integrated with swype! Anyone else that likes that? If this keyboard has already been ported to our phones may someone please give me a link to it? And if not, it would be nice to see that one of our many developers on these forums can start working on a port of the keyboard, thanks!
Even the Samsung Galaxy note keyapd is awesome. Any way to get it work?

Not that I know of. Someone that knows how to is gonna have to extract the keyboards from the stock builds of either the Note or the SGS3 and test them on our phones to see if they work! If I knew how, I'd be on top of it! haha

Any way of adjusting the files to make it work on our phone? What rom did you try it on? Maybe it relies on ICS framework?
Would be nice to have it ported to work on our E4GTs!
Ide assume it relies in 4.x framework.. Try it with an ICS rom.. Idk how to port but if I had a computer nearby I could get the files if I had a download.. So basicly im useless sorry lol

Goodbye guys.

Thanks for having me, it's been a really nice run and for the 3 days that I had semi-official JB it was amazing. Unfortunately, I lost my phone this morning and Lookout wasn't installed because of a problem with build.prop in Jedi Jelly 2 or something causing Market problems with not letting you download certain apps. Hopefully, I get a GS3 as my replacement. Anywho, thanks again guys, I wish you the best and oh, you can use anything I have done in your ROMs.
