[Q] Time-lapse issue [stops recording on its own] - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hy fella's,
I have a problem recording time lapses, the video recording will stop recording on it's own as if I pressed the stop button, I've tried all types of recording, and it will still stop, sometimes after a couple of minutes and sometimes after 8 minutes or 9, seems pretty random.. thoughts?

Up....

Similar Problem
Hello!
I have the same problem, but with my Google (LG) Nexus 4: The time lapse recording just stops. However, it records up to about three hours and then just stops without me touching the stop button or the battery running low (I had the phone plugged).
Would appreciate any explanation.
Best regards,

Lapse It Pro random stopping !!
Good Evening Fellow Lapsers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ & a Huawei P20 both with Lapse It Pro. I have turned off all apps & other possible interfering programs / services like notifications, data , wifi etc etc.
I have set the Lapse It Pro to Fully enabled in settings, I have selected the external micro sd 256 Gb storage on my Samsung which is just for photos & videos , the Huawei does not have the option but it is 128Gb & is bought just for time lapse & does not even have a sim card so cannot receive calls , texts etc.. They are both plugged into their respective charges so no flat battery issues & yet they both stop time lapsing around 6hrs in no matter how frequent the pictures are taken, 1 phone set to take a snap every 30 seconds & the other set to 1 minute & both on full sensor..
The objective I am trying to achieve is take a time lapse of 24 hours of our back garden..
Frustrating to say the least so if anybody has any ideas they would be muchly appreciated..
One thing I will try is set the quality to 1080 & see if this changes things..
Regards
Jimbo

[Q] CM6 camera app...Maximum 30 minutes recording?

Anyone encounter a FC when recording for long periods of time?
I have a clean 16gb Class 10 card in it, so space and transfer shouldn't have been an issue.
Did some quick searching on this forum, didn't find anything relevant. Feel free to school me with proper search terms if it's been asked/commented elsewhere.
Edit:
It's 30 minutes not seconds (title updated).
I guess I was caught off guard at the fact that it FC'd at 30 minutes; there are settings that I didn't see before that limit you to a maximum of 30 minutes. Really wish it would go longer though.
Wow, you actually recorded for 30 constant minutes!? I'm not sure why you need to record that long with an evo. If you are recording a play or dance recital you should be using a real camera with a tripod.
A lot of still camera video will cap out at an hour or 4GB whatever comes first. Usually the 4GB comes first. The FAT32 file system is limited to 4GB files.
Only hitting 1.4 gig at 30 minutes.
Was recording a work meeting for my boss whom couldn't attend.

Powersaving turn off wireless :\

Hi everybody,
I've just bought my Omnia 7 (I'm glad about it btw!) and I noticed this very annoying thing: when I'm waiting for a loading video on youtube the omnia's screen goes black due to the powersaving settings.. but also it turns off the wireless so the video stops uploading!
There's a way to set the phone on keeping up the active connections when the powersave activates?
thank you
If you are talking about screen timout due to inactivity, there is no way to make it stay on forever in Samsung devices.
I have set it as 3 minutes in my Focus, and the only longer option available is 5 minutes. Try that if your YouTube video takes longer than default 1 minute to load.
AFAIK, there is no way to keep WiFi on after the phone gets locked. With 3G though, it shouldn't be a problem, no?
Hi rexian,
I realized adding more time to the timout is the only option right now...
Yes no problem with the 3G, I was just wondering about that because at home I prefer to use my wireless.
thanks for your reply

Time Lapse Wish

I tried out the time lapse feature today and used the 2s interval, but for in-car recording 2s is way too slow resulting in video that is way too fast. I will try 1s but from what I saw at 2s I don't think 1s will be anywhere near what you'd want for in-car video. I think it would be nice if there were other, faster options, so that the video could be slower.
The problem with the slower option with in-car video is that it makes the video so fast that you get kind of sea-sick watching it and it's hard to see things of interest when driving at even slow speeds. What would be nice is we had other interval option such as: 0.67s, 0.5s, 0.33s, 0.2s and 0.1s. Since normal video in the USA is 30 frames/second (0.033s/frame) even 0.1s would still be 3X normal during playback. If I record a video of a trip lasting 60 minutes at 1s interval the video would be played back at 30X speed and last 2 minutes, but if you could select 0.33s interval the video would be 10X and last 6 minutes.
So, are there any ways some devs can look into adding additional intervals?

[Q] Record more than 30 minutes at a time.

Running CM7.1 and only get 30 minutes of record before it automatically stops. Anyone know of a program that can record longer? fyi, it isn't sdcard space, I have a 32 GB card with > 15 GB free.
thanks,
brad
It has that limit probably to protect the sensor from overheating... if you want to use your phone as a security camera, there are apps that will only start recording if motion is detected!
The other reason for the limit might be international regulations; i.e. if it can record for more than 30 minutes you have to call it a video camcorder, and there are other taxes/regulations/restrictions around that. If that's the case then you shouldn't have an issue finding a dev who has already worked around it.
As far as I know it's not to overheat the sensor but to avoid paying taxes for it as a camcorder as you said. It would be a illegal to avoid this restrinction I think

Thinking about buying Watch GT2 but need some info

I'm tempted to replace my Fossil Collider Hr with a Watch GT2 but have a few questions which I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere (including in the user manual). Appreciate it if any owners can help me out and answer my queries (for reference I'm an iOS user in case it makes a different to any answers):
1 - Can it show all phone notifications or only "approved apps" (like the Fossil)? Does notification support differ on iOS vs Android?
2 - Does the standby watch face only show the time or can it also show other things like date, step count, battery. 2nd time zone?
3 - With the latest firmware updates does the standby watch face still disable raise to wake? Do notifications still appear if you have standby watch face set?
4 - Can anyone give me an idea of what battery life they get with the standby watch face enabled (and is this with or without GPS tracking and real time or smart heart rate tracking)?
5 - Does the screen brightness on standby watch face adjust for ambient light (i.e. brighter outdoors, dimmer indoors or in a dark room at night). Is it distracting in the cinema or sleeping at night?
6 - I think from what I've read that the watch gives an onscreen notification if it gets disconnected - can anyone confirm if this is the case? This is a feature i loved on my Garmin Vivomove and really miss on the Fossil Collider
7 - How quickly does the watch time update when the time on the phone changes? The Fossil is instant whereas the Garmin Vivomove could take up to 30 mins unless I manually synced it
8 - Can you set scheduled Do Not disturb Hours on the watch (e.g. at night)?
9 - I understand I can't use the built in play music function on iOS but do I get music controls to play/pause/skip whatever I'm playing on the phone?
10 - Do most watch faces offer the 2nd time zone function or is this limited to just a few watch faces?
Appreciate this is a lot of questions but I just can't find the answer to these anywhere else! Many thanks

1. On Android I can confirm it shows what you select and you can select all apps from you're phone. I can't confirm on iOS
2. Standby faces show only time for now and can't modify them or install new ones. Only in future updates maybe
3. Yes. No, you need to manually unlock it to see notifications. Only vibrate.
4. I had standby wf enabled once for a cycle of around 5-6 days. I do not find it useful as it cannot turf off at night by itself in bed (it seems). Without always on wf, with all others enabled stress, hr, etc , I get around 10 days
5.yes and yes, it's distracting for me even at minimum brightness ). But that is me
6. Yes you get notified but will not remain in the notifications list from the watch. You see it when it vibrates or you miss it . After unlock, a notification is visible by default directly on screen for 5 sec I guess from the time you receive it
7. I have no clue on this one. On Garmin I know it is connected to the gps and I think it is getting time from there not phone
8. Yes hours yes but not on week days.
9. No clue. I always had only androids
10. Limited to some of them. Good part is that we have a really good community posting alot of wf daily and also creating them on request . Even cloning some known Sam ones
I had the watch from December and must say it is pretty close to the perfect watch for me after changing and still owning to many of them.
Some minuses I noticed that bugged me compared to others, first one is the most important:
1. Vibration is really faded, the worst vibrations on any watch that I ever owned but I can live with it
2. Notifications don't have icons for all apps. Ex. Skype has the same icon as many others and it is hard to see the app that notifies at first glance
3. Adding custom watch faces is not that easy and kind of hit and miss at the moment if you don't have a rooted Android phone. On iOS at the moment it is impossible to send custom wf to the watch.
4. Support. China always gets the best, they even have a payed watch face store for gt2.... The rest gets some new watch faces at around 2 weeks... Not really a problem if you can send custom wf to the watch. Just today in around 3 telegram groups o saw around 40 new wf's....
Done with this wall of text and hope it helps you. Conclusion , defenetlly I would by this watch again even after this many months. To convince you I can tell you that I currently own 4 garmins, 1 Moto, 1 Samsung, 1 amazfit and some other sport bracelets, with gt2 being may main one even comparted to my amazfit gtr
Awesome - thanks for taking the time @mauk to answer all my questions!
Bit disappointed with the standby watch faces being so gimped (why no raise to wake or notifications) but I'm still tempted.
Looks like raise to wake is the way to go - are you happy with the "hit rate"/accuracy of raise to wake or do you often find yourself tapping the screen/shaking your arm to activate the watch?
Yep, no issue to wake when raising and sleep when lowering the arm. Hit rate is pretty good for me. Ah and yes, it has no tap to wake, only button pushing
Seems to me that mine will raise to wake when the standby face on if I immediately do so after a notification vibration comes in. Say the standby face is on and I'm walking, if it vibrates a notification and I immediately pull my arm up to look it'll show it to me. I also noticed when I sleep or take my watch off the standby face will eventually go dark (which I like)
I actually tried the standby face because I get annoyed that the watch constantly wakes up on the slightest movement, especially when driving.
I do wish I could read messages more than a couple of lines and the icons for WHAT notified matched the app (does have the gmail icon). I don't care about responding to messages. One thing I got that I wasn't expecting was the ability to control my phones music. Reviews I read said you couldn't, only the watches locally stored music but there must have been an update.
