How fast do you drop to 90%?

My battery life has always been pretty sh**ty even b4 all this phone hacking and crazy apps..
Currently it takes me aroune 10 to 15 mins to drop to 90%... but that maybe just a bad batt app reading..
nevertheless I cant go a whole day without charging once or twice...
I carry my charger with me everywhere.
How people get 3 days with this phone is beyond me... Maybe its bcuz I love to use my phone mostly as an ipod.

from 6 am to 2 pm still above 90. (in school, airplane) actually sitting at 67 right now and unplugged at 530 am.

OMG.... Teach me your ways... What are you running? Any Custom rom? Do you like not use many widgets? Or is it simply cuz you barely touched your phone all day?.... lol even i did that just idle sitting it would probably be 1/2 batt in like 4-5 hours

if u mean std widget u should know that it switches to 90 when actual procentage is 9x. So when @ ledefy && motocharge i have 99, there is 90 @ widget.

I get around 7hours wih 100-90%, it drops to 99% as soon as i unplug

Honestly HOW! I cant even imagine that... You guys have some kind of special batteries right?

no special batteries or rom. everything stock. my clock speeds are stock i just undervolt. 300/17,600/31,800/42. might not work for everyone but im not a power user and dont play many games. thats what the game boy is for after all

Me too having the same problem and I am on stock rom and indian firmware and battery sucks and motoversion is 2.59.0 have lots and of games n apps but I have only rooted the phone with superoneclick hope you people can provide a solution for getting a better backup and yes I have even tried calibrating the batter but no use at all still I get the same problem battery draining and drains completely within 9 to 10 hrs even after minimal usage!!!!

Same for me. Since Moto only shows 10% changes you have to let it charge a good hour before unplugging when you see it's at 100%. It will show at 100% when the charge gets to 95%, so you could be losing 5% charge right there. I'm using the 1% display app from another thread around here, and I only unplug it when that app shows 101% charge. As soon as I unplug it, it drops to 99%, but lasts from 99% to 90% for about 7 or 8 hours if I don't really play with it. My usual discharge is 1% an hour. The phone/battery is programmed to not overcharge, so even if you leave it charging for 24 hours, as soon as you unplug it, it will drop to 99% instantly.

one thing noticed today... uptime was 2days 10hours and something ...and i had 1% battery left on motocharge ...and it took me forever to discharge that last percent
I did full brightness, full volume on music that was playing, turned on wifi and BT and played angry birds meanwhile ...and it took me like 30minutes to burn down that last percent of the battery, so Im guessing it isnt calibrated right

battery life drains out pretty quickly... i'd say it drops below 90% after an hour or so. one example would be 9am-2pm with texting, whatsapp-ing and the occassionally surfing, and i'm down to 30-40% batt life.
i think the major draining app would be those that run data in the background, coz i was in japan recently (data turned off while roaming) and a full day 9am-12am and i was hovering around 70-8x%.

anyone come up with a list to enable/disable to improve battery?

I think the battery is already pretty phenomenal.

Stop using the light and orientation sensors. So turn off auto-rotate and don't use auto-screen brightness. Also use wifi when possible; 3g will consume more power if your signal is weak.

Batter
It is not good for me either. I am loosing about 15% a hour with the screen off and not even using it. If I use the phone i can just watch it fall about 1% every 5 min. I don't get it. the only thing i have in the background running is weather, twitter and gmail. That is it nothing else. The Android OS sits about 86% use in the batter use screen. I have no idea what is causing this. Any help would be great.

Run the phone down completely, to the point where it shuts off. Then charge until the led turns blue(fully charged), then turn it on. I'll screenshot my battery status tonight.

Yes it is always posted that high. I have also already tried the suggestion of completely draining the battery and charging to 100% twice now. Doesn't seem to help. This is not my first android phone so I have tried all the typical turn stuff off. I started with the hero and then went to the evo. Then jumped to verizon for thunderbold and now back on sprint for this phone obviously. So far this is the worst battery life I have had yet. Seeing what you guys are getting though gives me hope.
I have tried using spareparts to get more battery information but get a force close when trying to do that.

Man I know that battery results range pretty wildly, but I'm averaging 10% loss per 2 hours.
On launch day I was on it from about 3:30pm until about 10pm and only lost about 40%. And when I say on it, I bet the screen on time was 95% of that time.
So far, the battery life is one of my favorite things about this phone. First time I've felt comfortable enough to run a live wallpaper.

You are lucky then, If i use the phone I will loose 40% in about 2 hours no problem. Also if you are loosing about 5% an hour that will only give you about 20 hours total before your dead. I see people reporting they are getting over a day. Just don't see how. Are they just not using their phone at all.

What does everyone have there screen brightness to if not set to auto brightness? Also what is everyone's screen mode set to?

I have mine at manual and just under the A. I have the mode at standard.

What I do is look at my active app widget to make sure I have no apps running. It is nice being there. Messaging sometimes hangs, I have noticed that.

You SHOULD always when you get a new battery fully Drain it and then fully charge the battery with the device OFF. Thats what I did with my phone. I kept using it once I got it, it lasted around 5 hours before the phone shut off during a phone call. then when I plugged it in to charge, I plugged it in and did not turn it on and waited till it fully charged with the Blue Light. I dont know about the normal thing now adays with lithium ion batteries but you were always warned in the packaging to let your battery fully cyle its first cycle with no use at all. The cells in the batteries have a memory type of design and if you dont fully charge the battery you can prevent it from knowing its full capacity.
Now I dont know if this is true anymore with the new battery production of the manufacturers now may power cycle the batteries before they seal the whole package so the customers dont have to do it. Maybe why when you get your device the battery is around 50% now like mine came. I remember older devices you could not use your device until you fully charged the battery the first time.
About Screen Brightness, I learned from a Epic user that the best way to conserve battry usage was to always keep your Screen Brightness at 10% (Gotta love the Touchwiz Brightness Changing with the Top Notification bar, this device will not show the slider bar like Touchwiz 3.0 on the Epic but IT STILL WORKS!!!!). I have noticed that at the lowest brightness setting I can still see everything vividly enough to work with it and im getting over 24 hours with moderate normal usage (like only 1-3 5-10 minute phone calls, surfing the net, surfing for new apps) This is my first android phone. I also have had 4G turned off and Wifi off all this time as I have no way to access those right now. I also have GPS turned off because I havent needed to use it yet. I pretty much have everything but Basic needs turned on besides all the Factory default presets. I also Turned my screen mode to DYNAMIC, which seems to show more vivid colors like I use on my Samsung TV for my computer usage.
Now I turned off Live wallpaper and im using one of the preinstall basic Grey ones (the one with the asfault looking spot light) (I have been trying to hit the crazy benchmarks people are getting trying to find out why I am not getting the 93+mflops mine keeps hitting 80's) So I dont know what heavy usage is doing to my phone.
but then again this is only under 48 hours of ownage. My first full night off the charger was 1 day and 3hours before it said I was 5% battery life and I plugged it in.

[Q] Battery Calibration

Hey I've read on other forums about these battery calibration apps and whatnot, just want to know if anyone has used them and know if they really do work? The wife and I both have the Dinc2 and i loaded andybonestock on both of our phones.. i use my phone like crazy and she barely uses hers. i put drellis's 21 on and UV 50 and within 15 min off the charger i'm down at most to 98 battery and she's already down to 90. her battery drains rediculously faster than mine and they're both the same exact rom's and kernel specs. Will these app's actually work or is there a real/better way to get hers working better?

Use battery calibration from the market and follow the instructions to a T. Her battery could also be defective. Try the calibration first though.

I left my inc2 get charge to 100% and then use the battery calibration,i notice that my battery goes down from 100% to 97% in just 5second,the battery life is good after goes to 97%,but im not sure why goes down to 97% that fast.

Just a heads up, that is normal, your battery will never stay at 100% it doesn't charge to 100% unless you bump charge it (and that is bad for your actual battery). Having it drop anywhere from 97% to 92% is common, after that you will notice a substantial slowdown in battery drain unless you are heavily using the phone.
I added a picture of my battery life as an example of the length I am getting from the ICS Rom I'm currently using. I have my phone oc'd to 1.4ghz and uv -25 across the board. This screenshot was taken after a day full of phone calls ranging between 3 minutes and 20 minutes, moderate browser usage, moderate facebook usage and lots of texting.

Ya I knew it wouldn't stay at 100 at all but like how mine would be at 97 after 15min and hers at 90.. it just didn't add up.. she rarely used her phone and only had about 6 hours of charge, while my battery with excessive use had enough battery to last me about 16 hours. I reset battery stats and then bump charged her phone. Now its fine

glad you figured it out.
careful on bump charging, it decreases the life of the battery itself everytime you do it.

I personally don't use the apps. I've had the best luck with charging to 100%, power off and charge till green light, unplug and do one more time, boot to recovery, wipe battery, power up and unplug. That's just me though.

That's what I did to remove battery stats.. read up on the app and realized its the same thing as doing it in recovery

Charging to 100% and then powering off and charging again IS bump charging, that is bad for your battery itself, it takes away life on the actual battery everytime you do it. I said this above. You may be getting an extra half hour to an hour out of your batterys life but you are decreasing the amount of times it can actually hold a charge each time you do that, therefore ruining your battery for a tiny bit of extra battery life per charge.

I'm quite aware of what it IS. I also didn't say I do it every charge. I also know that some say its not good. I also know some say smoking can kill you. I also know I've done it on other devices with no problems. And I also didn't say for anyone to do it. I only said what I do and what has worked for me.

The smoking analogy doesn't really relate, smoking can kill you but doesn't always, bump charging for a fact decreased the longevity of your battery hence shortens the time before it does not hold a charge anymore and you have to buy a new one. I made a factual comment, I did not need a condesending response.

Battery drainage on HOX

My battery on the One X I think is bad, when I check facebook or Twitter on WiFi, it drains 1% every minute and it annoys me. Playing simple games also drains 1% every minute...really annoying. Is there a problem please help?

It happens to me as well, but only if I turn on WiFi and let the phone use it´s online services.
Hoping that the Jelly Bean update with Sense 4+ brings some kind of optimization.
I have my HOX configured pretty much like my SGS3 and my S3 lasts 20, 30% longer and about 7ºC colder.

Same here, kinda want to change my phone again if HTC doesnt fix this problem.

How long have you had your One X, OP? It takes several full charge cycles for the battery to calibrate, it's one thing about One X that's weird. I remember being completely disheartened with battery life when I first got mine - and it was horrible, pretty much like you've described it, 1% every minute or so - but only kept it because my mobile operator wouldn't replace it before making sure there is a hardware malfunction, which could have taken weeks, and I was impatient. Then I learned from xda that this slow calibration phenomenon is a thing with this phone.

I am wondering what a good rate of discharge is cos if i leave it on standby overnight it went from 99% to 79% in about 8.5 hours. personally i think it should have been 99% to 89% in 8.5hrs but anyways...

It should only discharge at most a few percent. Check your wakelocks with BetterBatteryStats.

Will this work even without rooting my phone? I'm running on Stock Sense 4.1, but this seems like it would help a lot.
As well, if you (for a couple days) go without charging your phone in the middle of the day and let it run down until you charge it again I think you will see some results in the battery life. My battery would die everyday before school ended for me (Wake up at 7:00 AM, Phone dead by 5:00 PM). Unless it was just a placebo affect for me, its worth a try.

What's forever? 3 hours is about normal, unless you're heavily using it.

You don't have to calibrate Better Battery Stats. Just charge it up to full, then wait for it to happen again. Open it up, choose Since unplugged (obviously you should not have plugged it in at any point of time since the full charge), then take a screen shot of Kernel Wakelock, Partial Wakelocks and Process.
@Rohin, USB Cable quality plays a big part as well. A cheap rubbish USB cable even connected to the wall socket charger can only charge at 300+mAh, while a good one can charge up to about 750+mAh. About 85%-90%, charging usually slows down to about 200-300mAh, then slows down even more as it approaches 100%.

So give it about a few hours on standby and then run BetterBatteryStats, then select partial wake locks from the drop down box and it should present you with a list of the wake locks, easy enough?

oh ok, i see some have varying red bar sizes, what do they mean?

I had my One X for about 3 months...I don't know sometimes my battery is good and sometimes its bad...hope when the OTA update for jelly bean helps to use less battery. Who knows how to recalibrate the One X battery by charging??

Post your 10000 mah Zerolemon Battery results

Wanted to start this thread cuz I just received my 10000 mAh extended battery from zerolemon and wanted to post my results keep in mind this is the first day I've had the battery in and on the first full 12 hour charge that zerolemon recommends on the first charge and then it says to run the battery all the way dead but my sense I'm going to do the last 10% as shown in the picture but I'm going to charge it up full and going on today and see if I get any different results I was just curious on if anybody else has this battery yet and I wanted to see your results

I've had mine for 3 days, and this seems to be fairly consistent with the results that you're getting. after 1 day and 8 hours, I'm at 19%. slightly above yours, but not worryingly so. Im going to drain it down to 2-1%, and then charge it back up to 100% again. I believe if you do that for 5 charging cycles, it should be totally recalibrated. That said, you do not want to bring your battery that low on a constant basis, as it can damage lithium ion batteries.
I also use Battery Monitor Widget Pro, which gives a fairly accurate representation of how the battery is doing. I certainly recommend checking it out, for those of you who are starting to use the ZeroLemon battery.

after 2 days and 3 hours, I downloaded a battery drainer. The battery percentage was at 1% for a total of 12 hours, from 9pm yesterday, to about 9am this morning. I was able to continue watching Netflix and listen to Spotify at 1% both for about 2 hours respectively in that time frame. When I got into work this morning, I used the battery drainer for about 25 seconds before the phone finally quit on me and shut off the phone. I guess that means that Android is still trying to calibrate to the battery.
With all of that said, once you get down below 5% the phone shuts off the ability to manually adjust the screen brightness, and the stock music player will no longer allow you to play music (which is kind of a bummer, as I do have about 15 gigs of music on the phone, and had to switch to using Spotify on my bus ride home....through the Lincoln Tunnel). I don't know what else the phone shuts off, yet. I'll be sure to do a more in depth look next time it gets down that low...which may take another 2-3 days...

I've had my ZL battery since release (pre-order), I use it on and off. It still hasn't adjusted to having the larger battery. When it gets down to 3% I bump the corner and it resets the phone giving me 30+% more.
It still lasts way longer than stock, so that's good. I just wish the phone would show the correct battery level.

Well if they get this thing rooted you can get it calibrated better and sometimes flashing a custom rom helps to my note 2 had a 9300mah zl battery and that thing was always right so idk y this pine won't

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking whether or not the phones been rebooted? If so, none. During that time of 4 days + hours, the phone went to standby mode when not in use. So I haven't turned off the auto standby mode off to leave the "screen on continously."

Just wanted to post a typical day for me. I play a game called ingress, it's a real battery hog.
The spike is a trick I do. When the phone gets really low it dims the screen and enters a power save mode. This sucks for playing a game in the day light... The trick is to give it a quick whack in the upper left corner, it moves the battery just enough to do a quick reset. You could do it manually, but sometimes that changes the battery history.

Id turn off fast charging i saw that it doesn't do anything other than hurt the battery Cuz it doesn't know what its at cuz of the size
