I just ordered this from Expansys for $34.00 with free hipping. I've been looking for a universal mount that will hold my nexus in the casemate pop case and this thing looks pretty sweet. I found it for $29.00 on Amazon as well but with shipping it was just as much as the one from Expansys and shipping time was minimum 18 days.

I've had this mount for a while now, picked it up somewhere around December/January.. So we're talking less than 6 months now.. no longer wants to stick to anything.. =(
I'm about to go on the hunt for a new car mount, hopefully this works out better for you then it did for me.
EDIT:
Sorry, I apologize, I have the "Exomount Universal Car Mount" not the oso. Let me know how that one works out.
I'll take some pictures when it comes in so you can get a good idea of how it looks with something other than an Iphone in it and I'll test the suction cup out on some different surfaces.
Edit: just looked up the exomount and it looks like the exact same product just A LOT cheaper on Amazon ($13-$15). I might see if I can get a price match. Please different name, address same product. Unless the suction cup is different or something.

That looks similar to the Universal Samsung mount I got from eBay, except that one is made by Pleomax (a division of Samsung C&T).
I only paid $26 for mine though and its of high quality, even has a rubberish gel instead of a suction cup that makes marks on the window, sticks nicely without residue. (anyone remember that sticky rubber stuff you threw at the wall and you watched it crawl down when you were a kid? yeah, something like that stuff)
Remountable
I just got mine and noticed the bottom is kinda sticky. If I want to remount it to another surface I can simply rinse the suction cup to clean it right?

Has anyone found an armband for the vibrant yet? I am thinking about giving this one a run but i'm not sure yet
http://bit.ly/aFqcFy
It won't be a snug fit as the Vibrant is so thin, but it'll definitely fit. Looks nice, considering getting one for myself (wonder if there is velcro or a zipper to ensure it doesn't fall out, I hate it when they only show one angle...)
Edit:
There's an iPhone one on Amazon with the exact same dimensions, bet it's the same thing, and free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/iArmbands-iPh...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1279489127&sr=1-3
Will keep looking later, the dimensions of the Vibrant are pretty much exactly that of an iPhone 3GS, so anything for it should fit just fine. Might stop by Walmart and see if they've got anything. (Might need to cut out a headphone jack though as it looks like the Vibrant's is slightly shifted in)
Edit2: Ended up buying this at Target. It's a really tight fit, and there's no space for the USB plug without cutting the case, but I won't be needing it there anyway. I wouldn't recommend it as the 4 touch buttons at the bottom don't fit in very well, but it'll work for me.
Thanks I'm swinging by target tomorrow to check it out
I appreciate the work!

I got the Belkin one at Target. It was tight at first, but now it works really well.
I bought a runners club like band( cant remeber the name) from KMart. It was like ten bucks. I found ot in the phone section. Cool thing is i can use the part you put the phone in as a belt pouch without the armband
Ten bucks at kmart... Can't beat that

For those wanting a quality car mount, here it is. ProClip stuff is awesome. Its pricey but it works.
Completely worth it if you go with the fixed install.
I just ordered mine, I've always loved proclip.
Ordered!
I've been waiting for this bad boy to come out.
I wish that they would sell the basic holder without the swivel. I think that the entire mounting system looks much better without it. Oh well I'll just throw it in a box like I did for my G1 swivel mount.
I have a N1 ProClip holder somewhere around here. I need to see if I can figure out a way to mate it to a quality suction cup mount. If so, Ill get the Evo one.
do u guys know if the non-adjustable one works w/ the innocase II case? doesn't look like it, but figured i would ask....
this can be in landscape mode no problem huh? i should mention and it stays in landscape mode without any movement?
i bet this would work nice with an otterbox too...
hmmmmm
any videos anyone?
I dont think it swivels without leaving it loose.
I was thinking about it, but it us too expensive,i might just try a cheapo vent mount one to start

An alternative to Brodit/ProClip?
I'm sure this will work:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Dash-Air-ve...80550909556?pt=PDA_Accessories#ht_1166wt_1137
Yeah, it's for an HD2 but it may work..the Evo is just a fraction of a millimeter thicker, but essentially the same dimensions. The holder is wide open so all the buttons are exposed including a hole in the back of the holder for the speaker/camera. Even if I have to mod the holder a little once I have it, for $7 and free shipping and it fits on a standard Nuvi mount, which I got rid of anyway now that I have the phone's better Navigator....I'll take a chance with it before spending over $50 for a product that does the same thing. Just my two cents.
It should be here in a couple of days, as I ordered it about 5 days ago....I'll let you all know how it works out.
Cheers
i guess im out of luck since im using the sedio rugger holster.

the proclip one does not, but the slipgrip holder does. I took one of my old TP2 proclip mounts' ball joints and adapted to the slipgrip, its somewhere in the post where the slipgrip is reviewed in this forum

Use the ProClip iPhone holder that they also suggest for EVO's with cases.

I bought a Body Glove case off of Amazon for $22. I received it yesterday, and I have no problems with it.
Spiderpodium. It's like $8 cheaper of you order it from Amazon. I haven't received it yet but it looks awesome!
SpiderPodium is the freaking bomb. I use it every day, mounted in my AC vent and can hold it any way i want.
Just looked into the spiderpodium and I want one! Found it on dealextreme http://www.dealextreme.com/p/genuin...et-grip-travel-dock-black-max-load-500g-73245
Also, I found another link that sells it for $6.69 from the Galaxy Note forum. However not sure if its the real thing...

Deal extreme is great, just takes for ever for something to get here most of the time. I have waited as long as a month for it to work its way here and through customs. I think they opened up some state side shipping locations, but it doesn't seem to have helped.
Hi guys, I just picked up the ARKON SM515 mount for my GS3 and I love it. I think it was $16 on amazon. (link to their site http://www.arkon.com/Galaxy S III/slimgrip-galaxy-s-3-mini-windshield-car-mount.html ) They also have one called the AP515 which is for the iphone and its a few bucks cheaper but I just don't know if the GS3 will fit. The SM514 is similar to the 515 but it's a tiny bit bigger due to the adjustable arm (another great one to consider if you have the room for it) Anyway I mounted in a weird spot near my radio on the center of the dashboard. It can swivel in almost any direction which is cool and it's holding on tight. You can adjust the feet that hold the phone and they have rubber padding that way they won't scratch anything. I mounted mine using the included dashboard sticky pad. Here's a few pics taken with my bionic. (not the best camera)
p.s. In case any of you are wonder i'm using the Fosmon TPU + clear back case from amazon. It's around 6 bucks.
Deffinately thinking I'll order one. Been wanting a good mount for my car witht he new phone.
Arkon makes some FANTASTIC products - glad to know they didn't skimp out on the S3.
I bought the bad boy.

I hate using AC and window mounts. This can sit right in between my e-brake and driver seat.
That's the exact mount I have in my car. I originally bought it for my Nook Color, but it also fits the S3 perfectly. Nice strong hold.

How removable is the dashboard sticky pad? Would it leave behind any gunk when taking it off? And how easy is it to take off/put on. Thanks.

Taking the phone off the mount is pretty easy but this thing does hold it pretty firmly in place. I don't know how easy The 3M sticky pad will come off as it feels pretty solid on there. In my case my dash is plastic so it should come off pretty easily (but not too easy I hope) . You may want to contact their customer service and see what they say about it

thanks for this. i've been looking for a good vehicle mount for a while
Im looking for something like this but with shorter neck.
For you guys that don't like windshield mounts, I've used the "sticky" Arkon mount. It works pretty well. I like the Mobile Grip, but if you use a big case like an otterbox, you'll probably be better off with the slim-grip, that thing will hold anything.

Looks interesting. Can you put up pictures/video when you get it installed? I'm wondering whether its long enough that you don't have to look down from the road too much to see the screen.

Yeah, their sticky mount is awesome!!! I just recently reviewed their Slim Grip Ultra with stick mount here on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174449 - that mount works with ANY phone up to Note 2/Note 3 size and even 7"/8" tablets. Definitely recommend it.
go
good
Winnergear asked me to do my mini-review on the Montar Universal car mount and I obliged . Being I do a lot of accessory reviews here to give back to the great XDA community, here is another one for ya. I know there's another thread about it, but I didn't want this post get buried in the thread so....
I got this yesterday and decided to do a day of testing before doing one of my reviews. I usually just pop the box open and post pretty much right away . But not this time! I was busy at work anyways lol.
First off, the box is the normal boxes that you see from time to time and it is a nice small frame box, but in transit, if not boxed, will be damaged in transit. The mount includes a mounting disk for your dash for even more sticky-ness. I already have one installed due to my old gps units.
When I first tried it out in the truck, I peeled off the protective cover of the adhesive sticky pad side, which is a lot like the Nexus Wireless charger backing. Once you feel it loses any tackyness, just wipe with a damp paper towl and it's magically refreshed. I placed it on my dash plate and it immediately stuck. Pushed down the lever to anchor it and this thing is not coming off! It will tear off my dash plate before coming off. Really impressive.
I currently have a Seidio Ledger flip case and was curious in how this universal would fare with it on. I thought, because of the grippy rubber red "teeth" it should grab and hold anything you throw at it. Was I right? Yep lol. Ok that is pretty cool. Using a flip case and placing the flap on the back or even have the hinge side of the case facing down and letting the cover flap open with gravity. Either way works and works well. The phone is not dropping from this device.
Before moving on, the base is nice and sturdy and the ball joint is maneuverable and can do a 360. Smooth operating. You just unscrew the area where the ball joint is and then adjust accordingly. What I usually do is just unscrew it just enough where it can move around pretty well and then when satisfied screw the joint adjuster until tight so the phone won't flop around. Another thing is that the grips open on both sides. So you can do a one handed mount. I have not perfected the one handed dismount yet, but that's fine lol.
Anyways, the phone is pretty much anchored where ever you place it. Overall, this a premium universal mount, if you can call it that lol. I can see this fitting many many type of cases without any issue. And the sticky mount is the best I have tried so far in the car. Can I recommend this? Well it is a premium device as I said, so the cost of the mount is around $35 USD. Not too high up, to me just at the top side of my range on what I would spend on a dash mount. Being this a really good one, I feel good recommending it to anyone that is willing to pay for what you get. A solid universal mount that will last past this N5 and many others IMO.
Pros:
Size is middle range.
Can pivot 360 so you can see your device at any angle.
Rubber teeth holds firm
Sticky pad is VERY sticky.
Cons:
Sticky pad can get dusty really really really fast.
Color is shiny gloss black like other car mounts I have used with the exception of the Xenomix brands which are matte black, but much more expensive. As a result, can get scuffed like mine is on the back side.
Wishlist:
Cord management
Or ability to house a wireless charger pad by an insert or different "grip".Not an engineer, sorry lol.
Recommend? Yes over any Arkon mount you can throw at it. For being that I can get it in the US pretty fast, I can recommend this. Will I stop using my Kenu Airframe? Probably not, but this is a great alternative.
Any questions, please ask away! Oh I'll be getting a Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid case where I can test with that on as well. I don't foresee any problems, but just a FYI.

Might be a strange question, but has anyone actually bought a Montar mount and received it? It seems like every review I have seen was when Montar has sent the person one to review. I tried to order one last year and I found a lot of negative feedback about the company claiming they never received their item or it took months for them to actually get it. I ended up buying a similar mount on Amazon. But yeah, just curious has anyone actually bought one from them and what was the service like?
EDIT: Sorry, disregard my post. I just saw your Amazon link. When I originally was going to order it it wasn't on Amazon but on their own site which is what was getting negative feedback.
I received mine long time ago ... Amazing mount , built to last ...
Nice review. Thanks
no doubt .. it's the best !
+1
Can you give us the measurements of the dock? I'm mainly after the height and also the max width of the grip. I have a 9cm mat that I want to mount if possible. Thanks!
Nice
