In that case, I reckon you should exchange it for a new one since its still under warranty. My modded Arc stays nice and cool most of the time and only gets slightly warm when charging or gaming..
Yes my arc s after the ICS update started heating up on the top backside of the phone. It is with ICS since the nordic update was released and it didnt have any problems so far just the heating
its normal..arc s has cpu on the top back just below camera..it will heatup like hell if u use mobile data..wats the temp?
Well yes my phone heats up only when i use the 3g internet and i use it for browsing mostly.Even with 1h of talking the phone doesnt heat up i gues its when the procesor is being higly used

My girlfriends phone lasted for 2 days ang 6 hours on stock rom without any tweaks like SuperCharger. Phone activity is texting, games, browsing using data network and music. So it shows that SGY can go for 48hours. My bad i just forgot to have a SS on it to show it to you.

yea downclock possible but only on stock roms. why? not compatible with scripts and he says he downclocked it to 500 something mhz. but since doesnt have a kernel customed, it was only down to 312. tried it a thousand times. i got a CPU checker. overclock it to 1000mhz still have 832. so downclocking would still fall to default 312mhz. so till now u can do so as the author said but better for stock only. it will crash most of your apps on custom rom (so far i tried it on stock and creeds)

Yes it is possible... Use SetCPU to do that... Unfortunatly it needs Root Access... Gud Luck...
Mine only last for 20 hours at least, but after installing HYBRID rom the duration had increased substantially.
Guys, how long does your fully charged battery last on continuous internet 2g / 3g access?
in my phone, it lasted for about half a day only. how about the others.

The stock launcher is icky, and although custom one might use slightly more battery life, I've never seen any complaints about it. Go is fine, although recently I've gotten paranoid about trusting that developer with my phone and switched to ADW. Just personal preference, though. I wouldn't use stock.

lol I was about to say the same.
You should try a different kernel, ROM and/or baseband.
Try clearing your battery stats
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
I got this other weird problem. I wiped the battery stats, use it till it drop dead, then I charged my phone till it shows 100%. Then i power it down and took out the battery and insert it back again. However, once the phone turned on, it shows only 75%.
I read that this usually happens to extended battery coz the kernel doesnt match with the battery reading or something like that. However, im using stock battery and still this happens to me.
My phone had always have battrry draining problem since i first bought it. Been using it for 4 months and the battery still drain ~10% an hour.
Im using xperia s beta rom v5, doomkernel v19,baseband 56

Not another 50Gb its a one time deal. Unless you create a separate account. I think the deal is still active.
would have been nice, though the only thing making Box perfect is the extremely low file size upload limit

My first two setups, if you're into screen setups MyColorScreen is probably the best place to look. Still waiting on the Ion template though /:

I haven't had any issues playing GTA, runs 100%. Only game I have had bad problems with is MC3, when you sprint or turn the framerate drops and I've had the game freeze my phone twice. Another reason I can't wait to get this thing rooted, overclocking would be awesome. If you're talking about MCS than it's an awesome site, I go there just as much as here. I love having a nice looking and still functional Android phone so that's probably the best place to look for ideas/wallpapers/icons.
Working on another setup now, hopefully I can get it posted soon.

Me and my parents got the s3 while ics was still out. We upgraded to jb (4.1) now the battery don't last as long as it did, dad says it has taken at least 24 hours off his battery. How do we fix the battery issue and rooting etc is not an option! Thanks

you might need to do multiple battery cycles. fully drain and recharge. or if your device is rooted. try the battery calibrator app in the play store.
As mentioned rooted is not an option but will try the cycle, also the phone seems a lot slower than when ics

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Ours is still on contract and parents won't root cause they think it will mess it up so need to get it to work properly with the stock rom, update is the problem I flashes mine back to ics and it's mega fast and the battery lasts ages.
