Hi XDA-community,
I've just unlock/root/flash my Bell LG-P930 with CM9 and my wifi isn't working properly. I mean that I can connect to my wifi but the wifi signal doesn't turn blue. I can go on a web site but I can't download anything (apps, files). If strange because if I unbrick my phone, the wireless seem to work correctly. Any ideas?
Thanks
Here's my phone info:
Model #: Bell LG-P930
Android: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: P930MDM9200B-V10f-OCT-31-2011-XX 1
Kernel: 2.6.35.11 - cyanogenmod
CyanogenMod Version: 9-20120525-NIGHTLY-p930
Ok, I know it will sound funny but I solved my problem by installing the "google apps package" named gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip file
thanks
LG Su640 Wifi Problem
I have a different Wifi issue with my LG SU640.
It's currently on Cyanogenmod 9, version "9-20120422-NIGHTLY-p930" with Reloaded ICS and everything works well.
I downloaded and tried flashing the phone with about 10 newer versions of Cm9. Actually, all of them were successful except that when I tried enabling Wifi, the phone would reboot endlessly. Noob that I am, I can't even email the pros at the Cyanogenmod website.
Can anybody here help out?
Probably has to do with the fact that your phone isn't a p930 and you shouldn't be installing cm9 on it due to different kernels and hardware

If I may point out, my LG SU640 is working really well with a Cyanogenmod 9 ROM meant for a P930. I don't believe that the updates are incompatible with my phone since like I mentioned before, I could flash it properly. In fact, I was already using the phone for almost half an hour until I decided to sync my Gmail account to the phone via Wifi. That's when the boot-loops started. How is this so?
Update: I downloaded and flashed HO! NO!'s kernel for CM9 v2 and it worked properly. This leaves me even more confused why the newer CM9 revisions give me the same bootloop error when I try them on my LG SU640.

Hi,
I just flashed the latest MIUI on my DInc. On my old ROM I had the Wireless Tether app and it worked fine. With this ROM there is an option of "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot". I can get it to connect to my laptop but my laptop shows limited or no connectivity. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?
Here's my phone info:
Android version - 2.3.5
Baseband version - 2.15.00.09.01
Kernel version - 2.6.36.6-cyanogenmod+
Build number MIUI-109230
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
I tried using mine for the first time in a while on Monday and ran into a problem.
If you are not tied to the MIUI apps, try OpenGarden WiFi. It works well with my DInc running a modified stock GB ROM.

+1 for this. Works great.
I got annoying and strange problem. I've been running Andromedus Test Builds, but after 75 bulid I lost wifi, so I installed CM9 beta5 and everything was fine. Today camcorder did force exit and didn't want to run properly. Did nandroid, upgrade to beta6 w/ kernel 7 and lost wifi additionally. Then did recover of beta 5. Nothing changed. Now I'm running again Andromedus Test Build, but very low number - 64. And it seems to work right. But why, for sake, any new upgrade goes crazy? Any ideas?
Have been trying different kernels. DZ unlocked by htcdev (so every one must be upgrading manually).
Hope my english is good enough to understand me
Those are still beta builds - expect bugs if you use them

What do you mean by lost wifi? It doesn't toggle or just doesn't find your network?
Also, I assume you're doing full wipes between roms as the test builds are odexed and the cm9 unofficial rom isn't. If you don't wipe you're gonna be boned..

Title = Question.
The closest I got was the MIUI ROM that's up on the front page of the development forum right now. It was so close to working. It said "No SIM Card" but the calls worked!! And the -36 baseband was recognized! The only problem was that with that status message, the phone would not allow me to save any APN settings, therefore I could not get data access.
I also tried it with the -42 baseband. These should be the newest AT&T specific basebands available that are AT&T specific.
The real problem is, I can install 62 just fine, but it only supports the slower HSPA data speeds as these are for the R800i.
I don't really expect a solution but I thought I'd ask

Thanks! Do you use a specific CM9 build?
Also, which baseband do you use?
Do you have the call volume problems that many CM9 builds have? What about your proximity sensor?

I run FXP127 which I beleive was released fairly recently, Video does not work... ALTHOUGH if after installation you flash the Mjolnir4 Kernel and the modules (wont get wifi if you dont install the modules) the video works fine... the only problems I am having is the proximity sensor (just realized that today) as long as you dont leave the number pad up and close it when you dont need it, it doesnt bother me much. I am however going to research a fix for it this weekend.
baseband -62 It runs at the same speed as with at&t's newest BB I flashed back and forth from stock to CM9 ran speed test results are identical

Thanks again. The proximity sensor is one of those really tricky things. I don't mind Bluetooth audio not working, and other minor things like that. Video does have to work for me.
Actually I never had a problem with a non-working proximity sensor, except for Skype handling it very poorly. So I basically need it to work.
I have gotten all ICS roms that I've tried working on my AT&T play 4G(lol 4g). On some I may manually set the APN. I've tried KA11-14 Rom, Xdarkmario's Rom in .42 & .62 Firmware with Doomkernel ICS beta v.3, & CM9(can't remember which build) with CM's Kernel & recommended FW. I haven't tested for differences in speeds(data), but I got the H signal on all.
Edit** In NY area I hear that the. 42 FW with -56 baseband gets better call reception & less drops then newer .62 fw.

Hey guys, I try to do my research before posting (this is my first post) but I am stuck on this one.
I have:
PrimoU
Llior's CM9 Rom
Titanium Kiss kernel (ICS)
on Koodo (Canadian Provider)
Problem:
I was running the latest Hellboy kernel, but noticed I had better GPS signal with KISS, so I flashed back to KISS to see if It improved the GPS. It did, but now I have no service! I tried restoring to my last Nandroid, but still have the same problem.
WiFi works, but I have no cellular network connection. This is my daily use device so I would love to get some help on this one if anyone has some ideas. For now I am stuck texting on my old optimus one.
Confused!
Thanks in advance!

Well, like it's on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757323 for CM9, DONT FLASH THE BOOT.IMG INSIDE THE ZIP, and later, use Maxwen... - and that's a http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954967
Also, on the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765687, it is almost in the first row: IMPORTANT for CM users
If you want to use CM or a CM based ROM choose the correct kernel! CM9 needs a different ramdisk."
On DL web page: http://www.mediafire.com/?lo2ctaplonbdh you'll see a lot of kernels for CM9 - it's not always the latest on that will work with your phone. Try them...
Just courious - why are you on CM9?
I made sure not to flash the boot.img from inside the zip and always ensured I used a CM9 kernel which I flashed before installing a rom. I ran CM9 with the KISS kernel originally as it was what was recommended at the time. Upgraded to HELLBOY to try out new kernel features but reverted to see if the GPS worked any differently. (Tangent: It SEEMED to be better with KISS, but i could be wrong...)
I like CM9 for the stability and less glitchy video/pano modes, which I use often.
I have since gone back to square one.
Tried CM10 with CM10 hellboy. No signal
Tried CM9 with CM9 hellboy. No Signal.
I'm at a loss as to what could be the problem...

I don't know to much about other carriers, but does your phone require a sim?
Yes. It requires a sim.
Tried the sim in my old p500. Sim card works.
Power off the phone and remove the sim for some time(10~15mins).
It always works for me
Or,there may be a problem in the sim slot.

Thanks. Tried that, but no luck.
There is no way I could have messed with the radio or baseband by flashing a kernel, is there?

One more thing that you can try:
- flash stock rom
If you don't have signal with stock rom, might be hardware failure. If you still have warranty, just go and replace it...
Got my phone rooted and installed CyanogenMod version 10-20121125-NIGHTLY-toroplus. now WiFi will not connect. It will see the networks and save them, but will not connect. It will broadcast as a WiFi hotspot.
Any idea on how to get it working again?
I suggest updating to a stable release I am running the most current version with virtually no problems

I tried 4 different releases and no WiFi was the best result, so I went back to the stock ROM rooted
Tried posting in cm thread? Could be rom related

I had the same issue with many cm based roms. I switched to aokp based roms and problem with Wi-Fi has been solved. I hope you will find the right Rom for you soon
