My white HOX has it too. But I can only notice it when it heats up significantly to reveal a slight gap between the screen and body.

...

I have it to, and it is also noticible when the phone gets warmer than normal. Im somehow trying to convince myself that it is not big deal
Sent from my HTC One X

'm going to replace it .. I think the screen is not installed properly .. There is dust from entering the place where the body separates the screen on the right and left, above and below .. And also I can see the light of the alerts from the place that separates the body above the screen under company logo and front camera
sorry for my english..uaing Google Translate

Same here. It pisses me off because I actually never put it in my pocket and only got it 3 days ago. I want to replace it but here in the Philippines they wont replace it in store. I don't think I can wait weeks for a replacement. Its not that a big of a deal to me, I can only see it when I really look for it.

Phone dropped :-0

Hey everyone
I have put in a request to get my one x replaced with phones4u due to the screen flexing issue and a creaking case. Yesterday my friend wanted to see the phone as he was thinking of getting one and he dropped it! It wasn't from much of a hight but it has left a few marks in the case...
Should this affect my replacement?

Maybe, depending on the rules of phones4u. Any pictures?
Depends how bad the scratches are and if it's really visible.

They are quite visible scuffs on 2 corners

you might have some problems because they'll try to say the problem was due to you dropping the phone =\
well i've emailed my account manager to ask now, hopefully they will still swap it for me as its not related to the original fault although i guess there's no way to prove that.
If not that my phone is insured so I'll get a new handset one way or another.
body scratches shouldnt hinder the replacement as long as screws and warranty stickers are untempered.
I think its no Problem, until something is broken. I worked for 3 Years for a HTC Repair Center and we are only look for broken displays and broken Cases. Scratches makes no Problems. Good luck Man

it was dropped from around pocket hight to the floor, its left it with scuffs in the top left and bottom left back corners.
Clearly only scuffs to the casing, no cracks or anything.

You should be fine. If they ask about the scuffs, you don't need to say you dropped it, but just that you had it in a jeans pocket with those metal rivets and you didn't realise it was rubbing against it, or something like that.
By the way is it the grey one? If so, did it go shiny where there scuffs are?

You should be fine I read somewhere they'll class it as DOA and they don't bother with DOA phones. They'll make a claim on it or something. I could be wrong though but clearly the screen issues were the reason you were sending it back as long as that is still there you'll be fine, worse that will happen is that they'll just send it back.
EDIT: Ouch, definitely need a case as I'm just like your friend prone to dropping! No replacement housing available as well for the time being so need to be extra careful.
Ohh nasty, I think it should be fine since its getting replaced for another reason, but they could refuse since the screen flicker issue is getting fixed next OTA update

Its not the flickering, its where the screen goes black and ripples when you press the edge of the phone slightly, plus the case creaks in places.
I dropped my phone yesterday when my team scored in the last minute of a cup semi final. It got trampled. Screen smashed to bits. Remarkably it still works and its still in one piece.
Screen is smashed but somehow held together and still responsive

OneX dropped screen down on concrete floor...

...and screen didn't even show a scratch
Happened of course by mistake, i don't recommend anyone to try it on purpose unless you have unlimited budget or are addicted to adrenalin rushes...
i ****ing froze when i felt it slip out of my hand and took an eternity to hit the concrete floor with a dull *whack*....it just layed there, the white backcover, the HTC logo laughing back at me kind of saying "idiot, pick me up, turn me over and stare at the cracked screen"
moral of the story: i'm getting a ****ing case and a screen protector
You're lucker, the guy in youtube dropped his and the screen completely shattered
LOL beginners luck. Time to get case for me now.

I might do the same, but on purpose out of frustration with this piece of pap device. Good thing im not epileptic otherwise I'd have a fit looking at the flickering screen on my one x...
dunno man, it's a nice phone and all but sometimes it behaves like a ****ing bar of soap...taking no 2nd chances, i'm looking for a cover/pouch tomorrow
I dropped mine onto a tiled floor today
Never dropped a phone before!!! I didn't want to pick it up because I thought it would be damaged. BUUUUT...........not a mark!!!! Literally not a single mark anywhere Phew
It's all to do with the way it lands but happy for you

I dropped mine the day after I bought it. It fell out of the pouch and landed screen side down. I took it back to the shop for a replacement the next day and got it replaced. It had some scuffs on the edges

Owners of white phones

Any issues with the phone getting dirty and not being able to remove dirt or stains? I do like the way the white one looks and the grey one seems to attract quite a lot of fingerprints. Just worried about how white will be long term. Not interested in using a case either.
My one seems doing fine so far, but I always use leather case with my phones.

My girl has had a white EVO for over a yr no case. We got rezounds two months ago and gave the EVO to the kids all the crap they get on their filthy little hands and play on the phone there is not one stain anywhere.
Sent from my Rezound running stock/leaked ICS.
the evo has a gloss back though...
different material but i've seen a dirty one x but it will wipe away with alcohol wipes and it look shiny brand new
this was a concern of mine too but I'm using the white one for over a week now and it's like the day one! i think it's quite safe to get the white one and use it without a case

Mine on tourmate transparent casing from day 1, therefore stil hace the white with min added bulk.

After 2 week of using my HTC ONE X not white anymore. It is now "quite" white only. As i remember there are a liquid that can wash this phone White back. Do you guys know what is that liquid ?

Bad news. I read a post that suggested rubbing alcohol.
Had my white one x since 30th march.
no case, and the white is still the same as day 1
Still as bright and white as day one, 4th if April.

Once I had a blue stain on the back, I don't know why it happened. I gave it a good rub and it's white again.
I had a smudge on the back of mine after dropping it once at the gym. I was able to rub it off with my finger. I don't use a case (until the nice ones come out)
Sounds like white is generally fine. Thanks for everyone's input.
I don't want a case to ruin the great body of the One X, but if I get one I think the HTC one seems best.

Go for a full body skin..u won't even notice that its there n will protect the phone from scratches n smudges...

I've had mine for a few weeks now, no case. In and out of my pocket, on desks, next to the bed, on the floor, pub tables, handled by adults, children, sat on by my cat.
Still as good as the day I opened the box
Had.it 3 weeks not a mark still Like new
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
Had mine for two weeks now and no problem (but I use a case). I did read in another thread that window cleaner is great for taking off any stains :/
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I got myself a case for it,but even so i still find it a little dirty on the back sometimes but i just clean it with some wet napkins.
You won't need alcohool, just a wet cloth or kleenex will do the trick
There have been some reports of staining that won't come off, but nobody is sure "what" has stained them. The important thing is that you do NOT rub hard on a matte surface otherwise you may change it permanently.

Privacy screen protectors

Guys I want to go for a Privacy screen protector..are they good enough n do they spoil the color reproduction or anything?
N can anybody suggest a good one?
Thanks

Tried one once. Not too bad until you are out in strong sunlight, then its sooooo private not even you can see the screen!
Alsoa pain in the car using sat nav. Holder has to be pointed right at you.

Did you ever get one? I want one mostly to cover a nasty crack on my screen (only visible when screen is off). I figure a privacy or mirror screen protector might hide it.
I see 2 brands coming up in my searches , Empire (inexpensive $2-$6) and Clarivue (expensive $19).

Never got one..wasn't able to find 1 here..but dropped the idea ..I have heard good reviews about Empire n its cheap too..n if it reduces the brightness or anything then u can remove it without suffering huge loss..

I ordered one of ebay and used it for a few months, I wrote a review somewhere on the site, it covers the screen well and can be taken off and reapplied, the problem was that I suffered an almost 30% decrease in brightness and so when out in direct sunlight, you have to change brightness to full which is even more of a battery drain, hope that helps

I got one from Empire. Looked awesome before applying, covers most of the screen. However, after applying I get diagonal annoying lines on the screen . Its unbearable. i took it off.
i want privacy screen protector for my HOX too, but the problem is i also want matte, anti-finger print
at first i was using this kind of screen guard. but after 1 month i changed it to clear one and yeah the screen even better than before..

Just got my one x back from HTC but shall I return it?

I sent my phone away last Friday to get the screen repaired as it was separating from the phone. I got it back today (quick turn around).
As soon as I took it out of the box my misses noticed that the screen on the bottom right corner of the phone was sticking out (pronounced). I put a little pressure on it and the screen clicked (popped) back into its proper place.
The screen now seems fine. It feels the slightest bit looser in the area of the recent apps button, and there is slight screen ripple in that area if I put excessive force on the recent apps button.
Should I send it back for repair. are problems likely to develop in the future in that area?
I assume that when they assemble the screens they are popped into place, and some numpty didn't do my phone all the way around.
Thanks

THanks for the replies. Problem I've got now is that my phone looks and feels perfect. I'll give them a ring later

Well explain what happened. But if its perfect now no point in returning it.

I used the online chat with HTC. They said they will arrange for collection but if it's found that there is nothing wrong with the phone I will get charged for postage. I've decided against sending it off
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
due to the way its assembled, you're probably alright now it's popped in properly.
it was probably just not popped in properly in the first place, if it comes out again, leave it out and send it back
