Rom/governor/frequency?
I'm currently using ICS Reloaded, 1.2ghz hotplug, and there is still quite a bit of lag to it.
EDIT: Oops, title should be *so that.

Try Hashcode's new kernel. It has a better GPU driver so it might run smoother.
Right, the new driver is awesome.

Regarding the newest doomkernel, is the xLoud working for you guys??
No, pretty sure it was confirmed it was the new firmware that broke xloud, not the kernel.
However, I'm not sure if 4.0.2.A.0.42 has this issue or not, I haven't updated yet.
It seems to me that the volume has increased from the last firmware, regardless of xloud, so it doesn't bother me.
yea, it sure is louder I noticed, but not as loud as I remembered lol..
Btw, do you experience any laggings when playing games such as Backstab HD? Mine is lagging pretty badly from time to time....

Try changing the I/0 scheduler to noop
It's still lagging for me =(
What's the difference between those profiles? I use the default governor.. should I change to something else?

I mean the I/O (Input/Output) scheduler not the CPU Governer You can use no frills CPU control to set it
https://market.android.com/details?id=it.sineo.android.noFrillsCPU&hl=en
I did that in the nofrills already.. even overclocked to 1.5ghz but still lags=(

Can I use this even on stock rom? I have some laggy games too..
Yea you can use it on stock rom.. But it didn't help my case at all though..
Hmm, updated to the latest generic rom but still didn't solve my lagging problems
xLoud's definitely working for me with Firmware 4.0.2.A.0.42, and DooMKernel 5v2. I haven't had even the slightest bit of lag either (once the bloatware was removed of course), in fact I find it's the fastest firmware yet for me. Or maybe it's all DooMKernel that's making it speed by. Either way, no problems to be noted.
Hi. I want to know which kernel is best for the best gaming experience. I want to play without lagging. Can anyone help me?

I have already try this but the games are lagging (Reckless Racing 1 and 2, Rainbow Six, etc..). Can it be beacouse i am on stock rom?
What version of Doomkernel do you have? v11 and v13 2013 have a GPU overclock which caused some of our phones to underperform. v13 3013 should be fine for everyone.
I actually got very slightly higher 3D graphics Antutu scores with Darkforest kernel, but the battery life was better on Doomkernel (this is judging on JokaWild 2.5 rom) so stuck with that.
I am using Doom Kernel oc'd to 1.6ghz on a Stock R800X build, and game performance has improved dramatically over the Stock Kernel. Shadowgun and GTA3 used to be stuttering, laggy and unplayable. Now they are both smooth and enjoyable.

Good point, I would steer clear of ANY gpu overclocking. It has always had bad effects on my devices. Cpu overclocking is fine and recommended.
What about best Rom for gaming ?

The Rom I'm on (JokaWild 2.5) has boot scripts in \system\etc\init.d\ ...
I/O scheduler is SIO (I don't know what's best here)
CPU max/min on boot I'd modified to 1017600/364800 (SmartassV2). I only overclock as and when I need to.
I bought Reckless Racing 1 and Shadowgun when I was stock ROM + kernel and they never seemed to lag, although I didn't play them that much. Just reinstalled and had a spin of Reckless and it seems fine.
Do you find the homescreens / interface lagging as a whole? I had a problem on Doomkernel to start with where it would boot up at 921MHz max, and lag like crazy. I think it's because the CPU frequency table in Doomkernel is different to stock (eg. 1017600 instead of 1024000). Using OC/UV Beater 1.7 or SetCPU etc, or the boot script I've just mentioned, makes sure it's at the Doomkernel frequencies, and made the problem go away.
This might be someone else with the same issue on the Arc, I never took a logcat unfortunately.
Hello guys!
I have Xperia arc(LT15i) running modded .587, running on Lupus v10 kernel at 364-1612Mhz, ondemand, sio, with the kernel memory enhancements written on unit.d.(+ disabled cpu rendering and several other unit.d scripts).
Recently i downloaded CSR Racing, just to try it. The problem is that the game is RAM and CPU hungry. The gpu handles smoothly the game, but when the cpu is overloaded, the game continues to run, but the touchscreen is irresponsible for a moment(the problem accures at most of the time, but not always). I tried performance governer with several other schedulers but the difference is bearly visible.
My opinion is that the touchscreen suffers of insufficient priority. Is there any way of having this fixed?

It's not a matter of touchscreen priority, the game takes up a lot of memory so although it runs smoothly, the touch input will lag.

Try with flashing Adreno v.3 drivers - they will make the phone more responsive in every way with nearly to zero UI lagginess!

Thanks for the response! I've flashed them more than 4-5 months ago(instantly when they were out)
EDIT: I want to flash 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. I looked some JB roms and they were told to be very performance friendly... the only thing which prevents me flashing are the JB kernels which are with disabled 720p support.

Better with flashing an custom ICS ROM that you can mod so it act and looks like an JB ROM - it will give you 720p support without any quality drawbacks!

This.
Overclocking -> CPU heats up -> Heat affects nearby parts -> In worse case, your phone parts get damaged (meltdown!)
Don't do it.

Usually i do not play games, and when required for a moment, when running on 1.6Ghz max i have instant response. My phone doesn't get warm, except when charging and playing heavy game or browsing the net via 3G(from which i stay away from)
Thanks for the warning, as i know the silicon melts at more than 130-140C, which i think are hardly possible. Since a long time i've developed for myself a way of holding my phone while having usage with intense processing. Add that i observe my battery and the temperature was never beyond 40-43C while charging and heavy usage.
And thanks a lot for the responses connected with my phone I'll take a note
I'm currently running PA 3.6 and the AK Diamond kernel. 99% of the time, everything works fine, however when I start running Puzzle & Dragons, the phone gets really hot and more often than not will reboot before I finish playing. I have also tried using the AK Kubo (stable) kernel, and it does the same. I'm kind of a noob so I don't tweak the kernel settings very much, and I don't really know how to go about fixing this. One thing to note is that on the stock PA 3.6 kernel the phone still gets really hot but it won't reboot. I'd like to keep using the AK kernel as it makes my phone run really smoothly but I would also like to try and fix this problem.
The sole common point to that whole story is Puzzle and Dragons.

Are you saying that AK kernel and P&D just don't get along? Because although it gets hot, on PA 3.6 with its stock kernel it won't forcibly reboot my phone like it does with AK. I've found a temporary workaround which is to switch the governor to powersave while playing...but that doesn't really fix the issue...

No, it's just the kernel that doesn't "like" your cpu.

Sorry I'm kind of a noob but...is my cpu not like other Nexuses? Why would it have a problem with mine in particular?

lol
there's this thing called quality of the components used; the chinese can make the best and the worst.
every chip handles the tasks that are required of them yes, but that's why you see devices that can OC to 1.6, 1.7 even 1.8ghz stable, or UV like a boss, and others that can't handle even 1.6ghz oc or huge UVs.
for example, mine can UV like a boss, but not so good at OC'ing.
thermal throttling of the cpu might be more agressive with some kernels.
Anyone playing this game on xperia play? What rom are u using? Any tweak recommended for this game? Im using JokaWildv3 1.2ghz(1.4ghz will overheated my phone and i cant type well on keyboard) smartassv2 sio and init.d file for swap but this game still lag, not too laggy. So if anyone can tell me what rom suite for this game. No lag of course. I love this game. Thanks!

I think the problem maybe it's because you are using an old version of the rom... maybe if you try another rom like Bane of Speed or Gin2Kitkat that are more actual the problem of your lag maybe dissapear... the other thing maybe is your kernel... i found really fast the Lupus Gb-ICS v7, maybe if you try with diferent roms and kernels you can find the best one for you.
