[Q] Voice Search - speaker & car bluetooth - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
I have an issue with voice search and voice dialer app. I recently came from a SGS with cm9 and these features worked well. I replaced it with a gnex and it does not work well. I am on stock ICS (rooted).
When I use my Bluetooth earpiece I am able to hear commands and it seems to work reasonably well. When I use it over the speaker or connected to my car Bluetooth I do not hear commands and I get off the wall searches.
Any assistance or thoughts on this?
Thanks

Best Bluetooth Headset For Me?

Well I'm pretty new to this stuff and was wondering if there was a bluetooth headset out there that will do what I want it to do and if so, what is the best one. I've got a AT&T Tilt running Duttys WM6.1 release and I also have voice command installed. Is there a BT headset out there that will allow me to listen to audio from music and videos and also act a a voice headset for the phone that will work with MS Voice command? Right now I just have a regular Jabra BT headset that works fine with the phone and voice command, but I would love to be able to have music played through the headst as I'm driving down the road and also have Tom Tom directions come through the ear piece.
Is what I'm asking for possible? If so what headset should I get.
Thanks in advance,
JMan

Hi JMan -- I just got a Tilt and made my first call today, so I'm really new! Seeing that I only occassionally can actually see the text on the phone, I am also looking at MS' Voice Command as a possible solution. While music would be nice, it's not a deal-breaker for me, but everything else you mentioned, is. Any gotchas by going to a different ROM along with Voice Command? Thanks.
Google BTAudio - it'll direct all sound to your headset, VC still works. Only gotcha, (at least with TCPMP) music doesn't stop on an incoming call or if you have notifications for email/txt, etc to your headset.

[Q] Bluetooth Headset and Hands-Free Actions

Hello, I'm a recent owner of the Galaxy Nexus. (VZW LTE) I normally use my Bluetooth headset while driving for hands-free actions, usually with Vlingo. However, I am not getting it to work properly on my Galaxy Nexus. I can trigger voice action from my headset, but I get awkward actions:
With Vlingo no voice input is picked up. Vlingo works perfectly fine when I use the phone's mic.
With Bluetooth mic test the app always force closes.
With Voice Dialer voice input is picked up, but it never performs the right action. (ex. dialing random numbers) Voice Dialer works perfectly fine when I use the phone's mic.
All of the above work perfectly fine on my previous phone, and I can use the Bluetooth headset during a phone call just fine on the Nexus. I just had some questions:
Is anyone having a similar issue with any Galaxy Nexus?
To fix does it require updates to the apps, the OS, both, or none?
Has the dev community already resolved the issue? (assuming it is an issue)
I'm having the same problem with mine. Using the BlueAnt Q2 headset and haven't found a solution yet.

[Q] Bluetooth woes...

So recently I received one of those cool bluetooth to FM car transmitters and yes it works beautifully on the PAC man 4.3 rom, but sadly i cant use google now. When I call someone, It intelligently uses the mic in the phone since the transmitter is just that, a transmitter with no mic. But when I use google now or any sort of voice our side a call the phone thinks i have a mic in my transmitter. I wanted to know if there is either a work around or a solution to this horrid problem! thanks in advance!

Bluetooth 4.0 experience

Hi there!
Does anyone here have any experience with connecting bluetooth low energy devices to the GNex?
I'm trying to connect a Wahoo Blue HR heart rate belt to my Galaxy Nexus but its not really working out for me.
I'm currently using a nightly AOKP 4.4 ROM, I think 3 days old. They claim to activate Bluetooth LE on the GNex.
Any input / discussion is very much appreciated!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Confirmed
Hi!
In case anyone likes to try this:
I can confirm that the Wahoo Blue HR belt is WORKING with Bluetooth Low Energy / Smart.
I'm using the Runtastic App and the AOKP ROM with Android 4.4
So it actually IS possible to connect Bluetooth Smart devices to the GNex!
If anyone has difficulties, i might be able to give some advice, tips..
Headset using Car Audio
I understand you say that AOKP 4.4 has the latest bluetooth stack. I am trying to get the device to use the car's system to act as an input device also:
When using an iPhone 4s (I know, blasphemy!) in my car, I noticed I could press the button and give commands to Siri. The radio would stop and the result would play through the sound system. With my gNex however, I can only use the phone function. There is not way I can find to use the car Bluetooth as an interface. There was a setting in "Language and Input" -> Voice Search -> Bluetooth headset that states "Records audio through Bluetooth headset". But it doesn't trigger the car to go into BT mode and just simply disables regular microphone for "Ok Google" functionality.
I am sure there is a name and Acronym for this behavior, but no idea how to Google it.
Do you know if gNex can be set to behave the same way as the iPhone to use the car as a true device?

Bluetooth microphone and OK Google

Having an issue where I can't get the microphone on any of my Bluetooth devices to work with OK Google.
I have a motorcycle Bluetooth (china brand) and also a set of Jabra headphones. Both work done playing music and using them on phone calls but for the life of me when I activate OK Google it defaults to the internal microphone only and won't use the Bluetooth microphone.
I've tried changing all the settings under voice in the ok Google settings and also the settings to do with Bluetooth headset and hands-free bit still can't get it to work.
Is it just me, is it my settings or has OK Google stopped working via Bluetooth (I've read others have no issue)
Running 8.0 but have also tried it on a 7.2.1 S8
Any help or ideas?
Hi!
I just have to ask, did you ever get this working, and if so, how?!
I'm having the exact same problem as you, with a Galaxy S6 on 7.0 and a BT-S2 chinese helmet intercom.
I'm going crazy and really considering going back to iphone just because of this.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. Did not get any notification about the reply.
Did not get it working. Turns out it needs to be included in the headset as a standard feature (which the china headset did not have) Now use Sena headsets and they work great.
