It only works if voice recognition is set to Google and no additional TTS (such as SVOX) is installed. Even then its flaky (eg "what its the time?" gives a time 14 hours ahead). Not sure this is beta software yet.

This is Siri
This is Currently in Beta Version
The Developer Mainly Develops Siri for Older iPhones and all iPads because they don't have Siri Support
It is the First Version and it will take some time to release the second version as he is mainly an iOS developer
He has told me that he Will release a Windows Version Soon
You are missing how siri works
It is a cloud based system
You can't port it
These are all fake apps

New Korean firmware on the way with some interesting additions.
Samsung has released a new update for South Korean Galaxy S (SHW-M110S) owners. The update DH09 is not a Froyo update but it does bring worthy additions to the handset. Few visible features are the inclusion of Swype keyboard, ability to record conversations and an app to detects the slope of the magnetic field sensor. Other than that, the DH09 features RAM management, includes a 3G data widget, downloadable fonts and improves on many other fronts like Allshare, Google Maps software, call quality etc. The update is available via Kies.

Wait, record conversations you say? Phone conversations?! That's AWESOME if it works properly! I've been looking for a call recorder for quite some time now but never found a working one since Google provides no APIs for it apparently. This is GREAT news for me if its true!!!

It is also legal in many countries. Why should they be denied the feature simply because it is illegal elsewhere? I find that argument absolutely rubbish. I was able to record my calls perfectly on my Symbian phone 3 years ago. You can do it fine in WM as well if I'm not wrong. It's the lack of VERY basic features like call recording and proper sms delivery report support that I find extremely disappointing and frustrating about the whole Android platform.

Yes, you can do it with Windows Mobile.
There are several applications if your phone supports it.
new voice conversation record button replaces one of big green buttons that show up while calling and all recorded voices are stored in internal sd card within a folder name "sound".
YES it is true!
If someone wants to tinker with the Apps from DH09 release, send me pm.

about an hour ago i was skimming through the new apps in the marketplace and came upon an engadget app (not engadget reader). I went ahead and downloaded it. Right off the bat i could tell this was the official engadget app. Great metro ui integration, very smooth interface and offered podcast and videos integrated into the app. I was a little suspicious of the app and whether or not it was the official one, but it had an about page with all the copyright info from engadget. Right before typing this I searched once more for this app and it seems that it has been pulled from the marketplace as well as the engadget reader.
Did anyone else download this app before it was pulled?
It's unfortunate that it got pulled down before I could get it. I have the Engadget reader and it's lacking. I want an official Engadget app ASAP!
Good to hear about it being smooth with metro UI integration though.
I managed to get it before it disappeared.
Wonder what got it yanked?
What is it like, screenshots?
Microsoft seems to be really strict about their guidelines. They have guidelines for everything from User Interface to how long u have for the app to load/resume to distributing it on the marketplace, lol.

I got it. Settings button restarts it, might be why they pulled it so it's fixed. Give it a go and see if it's the same for you.
Ok it wasn't an offical Engadget app or they would have had an artical on it. much like all the BBC apps none are offical BBC apps. the apps that Engadget has for IOS and Android are offical. from what I was told they will be having one soon but it wasn't that app.

I have been trying to get this app since it was discovered on the 16th. My guess is that it was released, found to be buggy, and then pulled back. One thing about the WP7 marketplace is that Microsoft actually QA's the apps during the approval process. Android, never. Apple, yes. But it is to look for anti-apple or sexy stuff(j/k).
My buddy has been trying to get his WP7 GPS app approved for quite some time now. It keeps getting rejected for various QA and functionality requirements that keeps the WP7 ecosystem efficient and functional. So props to Microsoft for being sticklers about the quality of apps released(the purpose and types of apps release is another thing).
In case people want to keep checking for the app, here's the link to Zune d/l: http://ow.ly/3ZWl0

The ATRIX 4G lagged its way to a 9/10 (or was it 9.5?) on Engadget and I believe the Galaxy S[hit] got a pretty high score as well even though its lag and GPS issues were well-known at the point of review...
Update 3:
UPDATE from the developer (MrGreg -- post link):
The developer, MrGreg, has created a dedicated website for the distribution of Roam Control. The application will remain off the Google Market for now.
Relevant blog posts from the new website: http://www.roamctrl.com/
Jan-03-2011:
Roam Control 2.1.0 is now available. It contains the same functionality as versions 2.0.0 (which were previously available in the market), but it was updated to be compatible with the new servers. Please see the download page for links.
Jan-01-2011:
Roam Control for Android is now available through this website! We appreciate your patience while we transitioned from the Android Market to our own site. The website is still under construction, but we will be adding more information in the coming weeks.
Many things have been implemented from the ground up (PayPal integration, licensing server, etc), so please let us know if you encounter any issues or have any suggestions. Thanks!!

Update 2:
It once again appears that the application was pulled off the Market by Google.
UPDATE from the developer (MrGreg -- post link):
NOTE (12/21/2011): I'm sorry to report that Roam Control has pulled from the market yet again. It's the same story as before...I received an automated email from Google that did not provide any specifics on why the app was pulled. I have tried to appeal the decision numerous times, but I have yet to receive any type of acknowledgement or response from the Android market team.
As a temporary solution for customers who have already purchased the app, the app can be downloaded here:
- For users who purchased the original app (version 1.7.0 or earlier), please use the version available here: LINK
- For users who purchased the new app (version 2.0.0.g2), please use the version available here: LINK
I'm obviously not going to put the app back on the market unless I get the go-ahead from Google. As an alternative, I will likely either make the app available through the Amazon Appstore or directly through this website. Please stay tuned for details.

UPDATE from the developer (MrGreg -- post link):
NOTE (12/05/2011): Roam Control has been re-published in the market!! I appreciate your patience while I worked to resolve the situation. I still have not received a response from Google indicating why the app was pulled from the market, so be aware that it's possible they may pull the new versions as well.

NOTE (11/29/2011): I received an email today from Google indicating that Roam Control was removed/suspended from the market. I did not receive any explanation, other than it was "due to a violation of the Developer Content Policy." I'm working on getting the app restored, however I've come to understand that Google is incredibly unresponsive in these situations. If I cannot reinstate the app, I will certainly make it available in some other fashion. To those who have already purchased the app, I certainly do not expect anyone to pay for it a second time. As a temporary measure, the latest version of the app can be downloaded here.

That is my question, too.
It is based on the IE9 engine, I doubt. So is it just a different way of UI Design or are there any other additional features compared to the IE9 on Windows Phone?
If I like what I hear, I am ready to invest some time in beta-testing your app.
So make us happy with something special.

Next Browser is based on the IE9 core, but it is meant to be a different experience from Internet Explorer. It is fast and can support up to 10 tabs, and has features like pin to start, and is gesture-based to make browsing simple and clean. You can easily switch tabs by swiping left or right, which makes it easier than in IE. There are bookmarks and history, as well as switching default search provider and even changing the look of the tile.
Please post or PM me your Live ID if I don't already have it, and you want to beta test.

Awesome, glad you like it.
I'm actually really close to finishing Next Browser. The current beta is pretty much useless as I've done so many changes that I don't really trust feedback anymore, because I've been using the newer version that doesn't have most of the bugs the beta has. I'm considering a beta 2. Post if you want to vote.
i thing the bigest problem with browsers on windows phone is that no browser can be set as default...
btw i like NextBrowser i think its better than IE.

In order to connect an android device to a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, you must do it for a specific device, and that device's manufacturer must have released a bluetooth 4.0 SDK. "I want my gb 6900 g-shock watch to pair with my GS3!!! UGH"
I am a app developer and I need Bluetooth 4.0 in order to develop hardware for my own phone. As of now i'm using Apples Iphone 5 " Samsung's Competitor" to develop my apps and Hardware. This does not look good on Samsung's part. I really hope this gets figured out. The Galaxy S3 is the top selling phone as of right now. It is also my favorite in terms of use but. The fact that they advertised 4.0 support this sucks!
I am with you on that bro. Got the gb 6900 on my wrist right now but no application to really take advantage of the ble. Just in case you dont know, you can always check that the SGS3 can see the GB 6900 using the "Bluetooth Smart Scanner" application tool found through play.
I also have a Moto Droid 4 which can natively see the watch using the Bluetooth page in settings but I am afriad I have to perhaps look into the developing my own app.

This does not look good on Samsung's part. I really hope this gets figured out. The Galaxy S3 is the top selling phone as of right now. It is also my favorite in terms of use but. The fact that they advertised 4.0 support this sucks!

The nRF Utlility from Nordic, i couldnt even download from the Play Store because my phone is marked as "SAMSUNG-SGH-I747" which is at^t's SGS3. I wish there was a way i could download the .apk file from Play Store or even somewhere on the internet.
I am going to check if Nordic has put it on their developer site.
The application i mentioned only just discovers the Bluetooth 4.0 devices and doesnt connect to them. At the moment it is just good enough for proof that Samsung indeed has a Bluetooth Low Energy module in the SGS3.
If you can give me more info on your SGS3 such as network carrier, what rom and kernel you are using, perhaps i might be able to figure out why it is not working for you.

I just checked Nordic's website, unfortunately they dont have the .apk listed in the downloads section only the blasted iOS version of nRF
Also, i attached the incompatibility error i am getting when i try to download nRF from the Play store. Don't think you have the .apk for nRF Utility do you? Any way you know we can actually download the .apk from the play store?

Ha ha! Yeah i was about to head to Market Enabler but just didnt want to risk rooting my att SGS3. The phone is my lifeline at the moment and given I am travelling, i am contemplating if i should root it. I just did the root to a Droid 4 but alas i dont know the market code for japan play store. As i understand google gives each country/region a specific "market code" or a "play code"
I am sure someone has figured out and listed all the market codes for each country... in Xda just going to do that soon after i finish replying.
But hey, thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it.

Hi! yes. You would first need to make sure you have the JB official ROM upgrade from at&t through Kies or rooted and unlocked bootloader SGS3 running JB. Unfortunately, there is no official app from Casio for SGS3 as G-Shock+ exists for iOS yet, but you can download nRF Utility from market and then use the watch as a proximity device.

The nordic nRF utility does connected to my s3 and the casio gb6900.
It even was connecting better than the official G-shock app ( from the apple store) and my partners iphone 5
I'm not a developer but does it mean i have to wait until casio, android, or samsung work on that ?
Does it work with the japanes g-shock app from their store ? (this app supports a gb-6900 bt reports the description)

have you tried to clear the bond between the casio gb6900 and nRF utility and Bluetooth smart scanner or other android apps? I believe you can do that by going to the setup screen on the watch and then keep the split.reset button pressed on the watch. What other apps other than Bluetooth Smart Scanner and nRF Utility have you found on android/for sgs3 that use BLE to connect?

I have yet to try the official G-Shock+ app for iOS. I try to stay away(physically and mentally) from any iOS device. You may be right on the on the "better connectivity " as i know Apple did screw up the Dual Mode Bluetooth chipset on the iPhone 4S...which they might have carried on with iPhone 5.
Yes, you would have to wait untill casio develops something or untill there is a API from Samsung for BLE development for Android. I think the latter one is more important as once there is a API, not only Casio can develop a full fledged app but also many individual developers. Samsung is the real sucker in this.
You hafto go into setup in watch menu then hit "start stop" twice then hold in reset. Then search for the watch again.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app

That is exactly what i said in my reply. Maybe you overlooked it. Oh and there is a newer version of nRF Utility. Now you can have the watch beep or find the watch as you press "Find My Tag"..and the watch beeps in case you misplace the watch. It didnt work earlier. :good:
wait en see

I've mailed casio and didn't get a satisfied answer , they only mentioned the support information on their website !
Samsungs didn't respond at all, and their developsite doesn't show any activity on that matter.
l'll just have to wait and see ....

Well thanks for the effort. Many people before you have done that and got the same response. I dont know why Samsung is not at the top of the matter on this..especially if they really want to seal the deal for SGS3.
It could be that android/google is really pushing for NFC and not so much on BLE because iOS is pushing more on BLE and not so much on NFC.
I tell you these corporate battles just are hindrances to potential opportunity to many technologies and developers. Shame on them!
Update on Android App from Casio
I have some good news to share. We should be getting an Android based app from Casio. See this link
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/49231/casio-g-shock-gb-5600a-iphone-pictures-hands-on
"It will work only with iPhone at present - because of the app support - but an Android app is in the pipeline for release later in the year."
Another site i found reporting says around end of summer.
