Idiot Proof root guide help step 29 download link not working

Hey in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701004
Is there an alternative download link for w.e that file is on step 29 because the link dosent seem to work for me any help would be great!
You might want to watch out.
That guide has an old ROM that it requires you to flash. The old version has SD card problems.
Make sure you get an updated ROM... there are some with the OTA update.
Otherwise, I don't know about the update.zip file.
Thanks for the Info I just want to put a aosp like Rom on here after I am done but I need to finish it says I am rooted is that zip the recovery thing? Ugh this is frustrating. Lol
EDIT: the link says recovery-clockwork 1.8.1.7 is there another place to dl that file

Look around this and the DEV forum. There's a sticky somewhere with the list of ROMS and more information on rooting and whatnot.

seriously if you dont know what you doing you should read up more, what you downloaded was a custom rom, and there is no need to unpack it...... first you need to root and install a custom recovery
Isn't there a step-by-absolutely-every-step-guide for first time users of Android? Cause like PrismExtreme, after downloading a customROM I dont have any idea what to do.
YES, that's what i need, a step by step tutorial.. anyone mind sending me the link or what? =(

it would help if i knew how to use that zip/those files ... i tried copying the file o the root of my SD card, started bootloader and then recovery mode ... that's all i could think of ...
and when i start recovery mode i get this error as seen in the "icon_error.png" and stays like that for as long as i let it ... if i remove the battery and push power it starts normally ... but i guess something ain't right :-s
anyways , if anyone can tell me how to use that safe flash zip, i'd really appreciate it

[XMD] [MANY FIRMWARES] Deodex & SUPERUSERMOD

DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for you bricking your phone, applications stopping working on you phone or data wipes what may happen during the installs of these files. You are installing them at your own risk. Please make backups of the original files as I won't supply you with them.
Hi, I've deodexed the /system partition to the most recent update (at the time of writing), 15.5.A.1.5, of the Sony Xperia M DUAL SIM.
The files have been taken from the C2004 ftf, but will work perfectly fine on the C2005 too. The deodexed files come in a neat .zip for if you have an unlocked bootloader, if you don't have an unlocked bootloader please refer to this guide on how to push the files to your device.
I have also modified the services.jar file to enable SUPERUSERMOD, just push the new file to your device and enjoy. You also need to be deodexed to use SUPERUSERMOD.
I will keep this thread updated if any new firmwares get released. Just check back after about a day and I should have them up for you.
15.5.A.0.18 files:
Deodexed files
services.jar
15.5.A.1.5 files:
Deodexed files
services.jar
I never actually stated how I made these files, for the deodexed files I used the Kamome tool (thanks for your tool @AndroPlus) and for the SUPERUSERMOD I followed the guide by @DavidMKD.

If it has booted correctly, go to /system/app and /system/framework and see if there are any .odex files in both of them folders, if not then it is.

1) This is not the thread for that discussion, however I cannot be bothered to send you to another thread.
2) You need an unlocked bootloader for CWM, you need a custom kernel.
3) Back up all your data using titanium backup, then move it all to your computer.
4) Unlock your bootloader, this will cause a bootloop so you WILL have to flash stock firmware with flashtool. DO NOT make any more threads complaining about what has happened and how to fix it, I have just told you and there are guides on here on how to flash stock firmware, use them.

If you're trying from your phone, try installing something like ROM toolbox (it includes an unzip tool). I'm suggesting this as back in the days of 2.3 I couldn't download zip files unless I had an unzip tool present on the phone.
If that doesn't work, try downloading from a computer.
Also, try multiple browsers. Especially if one browser doesn't work.
But as I have said and shown, it works perfectly fine for me.

service.jar goes into the framework folder. Paper13579 made a guide on how to move it manually, just skip the parts what tell you to download files in their guide.
Or if you have an unlocked bootloader and recovery, drop the service.jar file into the deodex zip in the framework folder.
And I don't think there is a sure fire way to see if it is enabled, apart from installing a modded system app.
please create mirror link for 15.5.A.1.5 services.jar . I cant download it, says network error.

nope you just need to wipe data and cache after that install this zip and if you want it include gapps too, after all installed successfully turn on your phone wait it. for first boot it take a while and if this very longer / stuck in black screen turn off your phone and flash the boot.img from this zip with fastboot mode from your phone and turn on again and it will be worked
And how do i acess recovery to install the rom? Do i need to flash a custom one? And so when before flashing do i have to delete any of those files that are in the root of the zip? And the boot.imh what is, the rom? The recovery?

Yes boot.img is for recovery mode , you need to flash that from fast boot mode after you flash cm12.zip and gapps.zip too and don't forget to wipe data and cache after install both of them
But do i need root to flash the recovery? Isnt impossible to flash the recovery after flashing the new OS? Lolll
