I . ROOTING :

II . BACK-UP STOCK ROM/ ROM DUMP :

1) ROOT is necessary. It is recommended to put the phone in 'Airplane mode' so that it won't disturb the process and make sure you have ~500 mb space in SD card.
2) Download 'BackUpTools.rar' from Tools Box (scroll down) or attachments and extract it to your SD Card. You'll have 2 folders - 'gscript' and 'Install'.
3) Install 'GScriptLite.apk' from gscript folder.
3) After installation, open the 'GScriptLite' application -> Menu -> Add Script.
4) Tick 'Needs SU ?'
5) Click 'Load File' and select 'Back23.sh' and then select 'save'
6) Now Click on 'Back 23' and Super User will ask for Permission and allow it. Nothing more to touch. Wait for few minutes. After few mins, it will say 'Auto Close is Cancelled'. Now its safe to close.
7) Your Back-Up will be in 'backup_' folder located in your SD card's root.
It will have files named ' firmware.info, preloader.img, nvram.img, seccnfg.img, uboot.img, boot.img, recovery.img, secstatic. img, misc.img, logo.img, expdb.img, cache.img, system.img, data.img' in that folder. Copy it to your computer and keep it at a safe place. More Over if you are posting in the forums or sharing it online, don't include ' data.img, cache.img and nvram.img' as they contain your personal information.

III . RECOVERY :
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Default android recovery lacks few important features such as 'Back-up/Restore', 'Partition SD' etc.
Here is a working recovery that can be replaced with your default recovery.
-- MODDED RECOVERY (4pda.ru):

It is a very useful recovery with many features. It is a must if you want to mod your phone !
Downloads: download from the Tools Box or attachments.
Installation Instructions:
Extract the downloaded 'Modded Recovery.zip' to you SD card. It will have a *.img file.
Download and install MobileUncle Tools. Get it from Tools Box or attachments !
Install and open MobileUncle Tools -> Get Started -> Flash Recovery from SD -> Select the extracted *.img file. Allow it when it asks for SuperUser permission. It should take less than few minutes. Enjoy the new features !
IMPORTANT TIP: After installing modded recovery, do a full a nandroid backup.
Intructions: Go to Recovery mode[HOME button + Volume Up + Power Button] -> Backup/restore.
[IMP: NOT WORKING]ClockWorkMod [CWM] Recovery(China-Iphone.ru):
It is claimed that it works with every MTK6573, 650mhz, Android 2.3 (B63M) device.It is not working with our device. No problem. Modded recovery will do everything for you !
Download (AT YOUR OWN RISK): download from the Tools Box or attachments.
Same installation instructions. Even if you try this and it doesn't work, don't get afraid. Boot normally and flash MODDED RECOVERY through MobileUncle Tools ! Enjoy !

it's one of the most important file. my video recording is not working because i messed up my build. prop. .. so don't mess with it if you don't know what you are doing. use root explorer and find it in system folder.. ..
copy the build. prop and give me if you can.

These are the current instructions and download:
1.) Rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk in system/app to GoogleQuickSearchBox.bak
2.) Rename the "signed_velvet-voicereco.apk" that you downloaded (link below) to: "GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk"
3.) Place the renamed .apk in the system/app folder and set the permissions to rw-r-r
4.) Reboot and enjoy!

I also believe that the voice searching feature is currently borked. But people are working on it as we speak

Everything works as advertised on stock, not sure about any other roms.

used the 2nd method. regular search is odd, because it will come up with a blank screen for your results and then if you touch it and scroll the results will show up. also kinetic scrolling doesn't work on it.
also it won't let me select a favorite sports team, for some reason.

So I keep getting a network error at the beginning, but it allows me to do searches. Are you getting the card screen with the Google logo at the top? I only get the search box screen.

Doesn't show me Cards on my AT&T Galaxy S3 running Diet ICS

Everytime I go to system/app and try to remove or rename googlequicksearchbox .. it says failed operation or it can't be removed

Try starting over. I had to do it a couple times before it worked properly.

Unfortunately the voice search portion doesn't work for my Galaxy s3 on sprint. It'll show initializing for a brief second the it'll say it could catch what I said before I have a chance to say anything. Any suggestions on what I can try to get it working?

yep i want to test it but why don't you make MiniCM10.1? CM10.1 is more faster and beautiful than cm10

MiniCM10 is after market ROM like ParanoidAndroid, AOKP, Cyanmobile, etc. It is totally different ROM Created by NobodyAtAll (RD), Dark_dog (RT) & Team. It has more features then CM10 Plus It is specially Built For LDPI Devices. MiniCM10 is specially made for msm7x27 semc devices (Low Legacy Devices)

you can PM me its link so i can test that rom and see what bugs i found.

Tried to replace its some meta-inf files but problem still persist. >_<

Now need to investigate its some files that makes device not to install the rom.
EDIT # 3:
Tried to remove some useless "Set_perm" lines but it still says that error
EDIT # 4:
Seams to be "audio_effects.conf" permission is wrong in /vendor/etc instead of /system/etc.lets try to flash again.

Ok guys I've made some tweaks to the Mms.apk,
1) Auto SMS to MMS conversion disabled.
2) Ulimited lines for text typing area.
3) Fixed issues with delivery reports.
4) Minor tweaks.
Next build:
1) MMS fix (First I need confirmation of it's not working from at least two people)
2) Dark them.

Instructions:-
Download the Mms.apk file and copy it to your fastboot folder. Open command prompt and enter the following commands:-
Code:
adb remount
adb push Mms.apk /system/app/
adb shell
chmod 644 /system/app/Mms.apk
exit
adb reboot
Make sure to press enter after each command. Also, make a backup of your original Mms.apk in case you experience any problems.

I'm uploading the the latest CM10 with your mms.apk in it now. I will clean my github and then sync in the device/vendor/msm7x30 trees that I have so far for them. The latest build I have done have two main issues, firstly the kernel isn't building properly, it comes out around 4kbs too small, and won't boot very far. Using a downloaded version of hellboy the rom boots past the htc screen onto a black, with the latest version we should be able to pull a logcat to see more closely what we need to fix.
Once I have it all uploaded I'll start a new thread and add any and all stuff I know so far, so that anyone can pitch in if they feel like it. I think we should make it a rookie friendly as possible so that anyone here can contribute.

[TOOL]SplashInjector[OP5]

SplashInjector​splash injector is a tool created by me based on the work done by @makers_mark . it is a basic command line interface but it gets the job done. it supports all oneplus devices so far except the oneplus x :crying: i can add support once someone gets me the logo.bin file from that device. The tool is pretty simple its based on the work here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/mod-splash-screen-image-injector-t3441999 this is where i got this all from. i know it can be kinda hacky and only supports unix systems i think you can get it working by using git bash on windows. In its current state it can decode and encode all oneplus logo.bins (Including the OnePlus 5!) it can also pack flashable zips for you automatically. all you need to do is run the decode option edit the file you want in the output folder. Then you can run the encode command and it will pack it all back up. Then package it with the package command. Once again major credit to @makers_mark he did all the leg work. i just made it a little more friendly. lmk if there is any issues you find

1.52: Ok guys im not a windows expert...i barely use it so the tool does support windows now but it cant package files. it does give you all the tools and files you need to package one tho. you can use a tool such as this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-6-feb-android-flashable-zip-t3551772 this update also includes a completely revamped system. lmk about any bugs you find. for windows you need to install and use GIT bash. i also added a update function to easily update the tool. its simple but it works. heres my git again for you guys https://github.com/ethanbanker2428/SplashInjector

click the help option. i feel it explains it pretty well. to edit the png in the output folder use gimp or photoshop

Ok just an update windows support is finished and in the tool now. I'll push probably tomorrow it works and packs and unpacks fine just getting issues with packaging the zips. It corrupts them. Im gonna switch to 7zip and see if that works then I'll push

Other option is to move the files to the output folder and ask the user to manually zip them, it's available on windows right click menu.

I have a question, what's the BGR option for? I thought it was for op5 display but it only change the color of the pngs, so I switched it for RGB and now my logo looks good.
I share my mod, original was taken from CUSTOM BOOT LOGO PACK FOR OnePlus3.

bgr does **** up the colors a bit or fixes it. its one of those things where you use it if you need it and you will know if you need it.
also update to anyone else that update will have to wait. im a perfectionist and im revamping the whole thing to alot cleaner code. windows should work tho and the oneplus x will be supported hopefully too

Update: Ok guys im not a windows expert...i barely use it so the tool does support windows now but it cant package files. it does give you all the tools and files you need to package one tho. you can use a tool such as this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-6-feb-android-flashable-zip-t3551772 this update also includes a completely revamped system. lmk about any bugs you find. for windows you need to install and use GIT bash. i also added a update function to easily update the tool. its simple but it works. heres my git again for you guys https://github.com/ethanbanker2428/SplashInjector

Hi, I created the zip but it won't flash in twrp. Is there a compression method to use? Using 7zip.

Of course you need root，The right command is
adb shell su -c dd if xxxx
