Hi All,
The in call volume even when set at the max level is very low and it becomes very hard for me many times to understand what the other person is speaking on the other side. Please help me with this problem as I am not sure if there some issue with my handset or this problem is faced by many others using this cell phone. All other features are just awesome but this problem is really annoying me.
Looking forward for a quick help on this.
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes I have the same problem. Some calls have normal volume level (however max could be louder) and some calls (not too many) are so quiet that I can't hear the other person.
I tried to disconnect the person I had problem hearing. Then called back and the problem reappeared (however volume level was enough to communicate). It was fixed line, not mobile. So it may be something with carrier but it has never happened before with other phones.
Even happened with me!
It's not a problem. I'm sure it's not.
Yes I do agree that on my Xperia Mini and LG Optimus Me (P350) , I could hear louder voice, but the One V is just made like that.
And when I tried to talk to a friend who's voice was always a little unclear and a bit low on One V, the voice wasn't that better on Xperia Mini. :cyclops:
Conclusion - The ratio is same.
Voice quality of One V : Xperia Mini
1 : 2.
Something is blocking its microphone. Remove the micro sim card cover, make sure nothing is blocking its microphone/speaker such as sticker (not the guarantee seal)
Source: own experience

I have the same problem. I guess the front speaker is just really small. Can anyone confirm this? Or is this a problem with my phone?

Is there any way by which the default volume can be increased in HTC one V? I am really facing lot of trouble while talking to people. Other HTC devices like HTC Desire V, explorer has better sound quality. Can the hardware be replaced?

Hi everybody
I'm suffering from a sound problem while making calls. Sound in call got buzzes sometimes, seems periodically, means that i can guest when it is muted completely (about 0.5s duration) or when it's like strong wind sound beating at the opposite line's micro. I tested this with a waiting piece of music from a friend (his provider offer a waiting song when people are waiting to get connect to him) and the song got buzzes and muted at exact points.
It's not caused by ROMs, as i change rom almost everyweek and the issue remains constantly.
I did some testing methods relating to sim:
- Put my sim in other handset, sound is good.
- Put other sim in my DHD, sound is bad but with other buzz and muted circles
- Put other provider's sims in my DHD, same stories
So i guess it's not because of sim-card.
I've had this problem for a while, and decide to ask here because i cannot find out a proper solution. My phone has the latest radio.
After clarifying and asking some of my friends, i found this problem is not speaker-related (which i fear the most) but mobile signal-related. The symptom is getting better or worse when i "touch" the two prongs next to the simcard, under the bottom hood. They are the antenna of this phone, right? I tried to raise them a little bit, or lower them a little bit (of course very small changes because these components are tiny and seems fragile) because i heard somebody in XDA told so to improve signal strength or something like that. But the issue only changed (better or worse, hardly to realize), it didn't disappear.
So anyone can give me a suggestion on this case? What do i suppose to do to make call quality better? Because it is annoying really! Have ever imagine a high-end device would provide such a poor service for a basic purpose like this. I often lose information or important points during conversations because of this f***ing issue! Not good at all!
Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone? Anyone can help?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
i had this problem before. Its the hardware. Brought it to HTC 3 times before they exchanged a new set for me
Really? Sounds very badly! Is there any other way to repair, because my handset is rooted and not bought officially from HTC agents so it's a pain to contact with HTC, especially when they appear to be not really helpful like in your case @topucash
well, you can always flash a RUU or restore from your backup of the stock rom. I actually had to request for a 1 to 1 exchange , else i expect myself to visit them forever
Can not really follow you. What did you mean by "else i expect myself to visit them forever"?
And what did HTC tell you about this issue? Did they call them "hardware problem" or something?
Any one can help me please, i'm dying of suffering from this awful issue
Hi, i've had my Arc S for 3 Months and my microphone has been playing up for the last few days, when i'm on the phone , people say that they can hardly hear me, and it sounds like i'm on the other side of the room. i have tried the option to turn off noise suppression and although it makes it slightly better, my microphone still sounds quiet and muffled. i have also tried the phones hardware testing fuction and it still sounds the same.
I have used the sony site to unlock my bootloader so i don't think sony will do a warranty repair
What should i do? Is this a hardware problem in need of a repair or if there is a software tweak that will help.
Please help!

A friend of mine had a very similar, if not the same, issue as yours in the galaxy s2. You have to replace a certain part in your phone because it's a hardware problem.
Good luck!

Hi Guys ,
My Xperia Zl is just 3 months old. Its unrooted , Bootloader locked and its running stock 4.3 from sony.
So , Coming to my problem.
From past one month , few fellas of mine are complaining that whenever i call them, they are unable to hear me properly at the other end .They are reporting that they are hearing faint voice .Well , few other guys tell me that my voice is reaching them just good.
So to get rid of confusion i installed a sound meter app from play store to see how much it measures .Mine measured 30-37 DB in a quite room [47-50 DB When had a conversation at 2ft from phone ]. But my friends HTC Desire X measured 50-54 DB under same circumstances [Quite room]. But this way of judging is quite wrong i felt, since both of them are from different manufacturers .
So all the bros of XDA , I am asking a small favor from you fellas .Can you please install the sound meter app [Freeware on playstore so no worries admins ] from the attachment below and give me the reading under these two scenarios .
1) In a quite room.
2) When had a conversation at 2ft from phone .
Your inputs are most required for me. Bcoz i am planning to return my ZL to service center if my reading are below than another ZL .
Waiting for your inputs guys ....Please ...!!

The mic on my phone does not work at all. I have had the phone since April and it has been perfect. Flashed 4.3 and I am completely dead in the water on handset calls. Xperia diagnostic app from Playstore records and plays back "white noise".

its a hardware fault. take it to service center. they will replace your phone with the new one for free provided you got warranty.
My ZL has been replaced with the new one for same reason along with IR reciever problem.
Im using d855 , from the beginning the call clarity is very poor, calls are having distortion like broken voices
while talking with the phone ear piece. The other end ie the person receiving call is having no issues at all.
Headphone and loudspeaker clarity is better.
Is it a faulty ear piece or a some software problem.
Is there any one else facing the same problem.
Please help.
Maybe faulty, have you tried rebooting and seeing if that helps?
I have to say my G3 is much better than my previous note 3 or Htc one for call clarity

Great to hear that you getting good clarity on G3 than other devices.
Tried rebooting and resetting the device but no luck.
My intention is to make sure whether its a software bug or hard ware fault before handing over to the
service center.

Hi @mpt123
I have the same problem here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/poor-call-quality-distortion-noise-t2808530
But, I can't consistently reproduce it - last evening it was consistently terrible, this morning it is consistently fine. I haven't rebooted in-between so I can't work out what is going on.
One thing is - I do frequently connect and disconnect from Bluetooth headset in my car - and I wonder whether this has any influence. Do you use a BT headset?
Also, do you find it is ALWAYS bad, or is it inconsistent like mine?

Hi, this problem is consistent for me all the time.
I'm using it with my headset, speaker mode and bluetooth , all of these worked well without any problem.
I have given this to LG service center and they confirmed it is due to the faulty earpiece.
They asked me to wait for 3 days to do the repairing . I took it back given to the showroom where i purchased
it, the manager promised me tomorrow they will get it replaced with a new one as my demand.
Also for your information in my case i did reset my mob, flashed it with the European firmware to make sure that the
problem is with hardware.
Hope this information will be useful for you at some time.

Yes I had the same problem with my earpiece. I went to CPW and got it exchanged, which was a bit of a hassle because I had to set the phone up again. Although I do have to say the LG Backup software is actually rather good. Backed up my homescreen layout and settings so not too bad.
However I now have a brand new phone and it has exactly the same issues with crackling and vibration. Almost like the speaker is too loud for itself but it really is not that loud or clear.
Do you think I should try to get another replacement?

I'm interested to know what network you are on? And does the crackling always happen, or is it only if you're in bad coverage area? Or some other cause/factor?
Tonight my phone behaves fine, but I'm worried there is some problem.

I am with Vodafone. I had the same thought just this afternoon and I think maybe it might be a signal problem. It seems to be worse when I am at home where I have full 4G coverage. I am going to turn off 4G tomorrow and do some testing just using 3G and see the difference.
Will keep you posted!

Hi I made a post on the other thread as I have the same problem. I'm also on Vodafone. I'm only in a 3g area not 4g but as I'm using a Three network handset I have no option to just switch to GSM.
I have however tried Skype through wifi and data and the earpiece is crystal clear so I agree this appears to be either software or network related.
Will keep you posted!

I called CPW today and they were great. Took it to my local outlet and they swapped it out for a new handset without any hassle at all. They have a 28 day exchange policy which they totally seem to honour.
Not had a lot of chance to test the replacement, but the calls I have made have been crystal clear with no noise, crackling, or distortion. Will update again after a few days.
To re-cap: I had crackling and distortion on the majority of calls but only when using the earpiece - sometime it was worse than other times. It was always fine when in speaker mode or using bluetooth. New handset doesn't seem to have this problem.

the weird thing is that when using skype its always crystal clear. its just GSM calls, so surely can't be hardware issue can it.

I had my phone replacement yesterday with a new one ,the earpiece is very clear though is not that that loud but iam very happy
with it bcz the earpiece on the previous one was so noisy with crackling sounds and i had to use my headphones all the time.
I have seen many reviews with excellent results on call clarity and all , so its shouldnt be a common problem with the phone.
Try to switch the network and compare the clarity , if the results are same then go for replacement.
I have exactly the same problem... All the way here in HK!
There may be a Faulty production batch. Unfortunately the retailers in HK only do 10 Days Swaps so will have to hit the LG Service Center... hopefully it is covered by the Warranty!

Got the replacement already! I've tested out the earpiece and definitely no crackle and its loud.

LG G3 Earpiece Noise Problem
Unfortunately before buying this handset I have not checked about the problems that already exists. I also got G3 with same earpiece digital noise/ buzzing noise problem which usually comes when it first try to connect after dialing the number and then it comes during the call also.
I got 1 phone replaced in Bangalore Sangeetha within 2 days of purchase and the 2nd phone also have the same problem. It seems some batch problem. This is my first LG phone and hopefully the last one.
I have given 2nd phone back to Sangeetha although they suggested me to go to LG center. I don't know where this phone will take me, preparing for a customer court :crying:
I've got this problem with my D850 in the UK on Three, I hear a crack or pop a few times during a call. Has anyone tried turning off noise suppression and voice enhancement in call settings to see if that makes any difference?
I turned off voice enhancement and call quality has improved so far.
