I'm thinking about picking up the can Asian version of the one x on Friday when it comes out but I have a few questions if you guys don't mind.
Will all the roms work with the dual core version?
And is there a sim unlock for the one x?

One XL and One X will have different firmware. The CPU and baseband are completely different.

Don't know of one for the One X.
Ok thanks so is the dual core called the One XL?
Cause Rogers is selling it as just HTC One X

If its dual core and has LTE then its the One XL. The One X is quad core and doesn't support LTE.

The Asian One XL won't work on Rogers as they use the 700MHz band for LTE. The AT&T version might if they use the same part of the 700MHz spectrum (VZW uses 700MHz but AT&T phones won't work on it and vice versa because of slight frequency differences). None of this applies if you're just using it for HSPA+. Also, Asian phones don't have true English keyboards so you'd have to root and ROM it eventually.
HSPA/WCDMA:
•ATT: 850/1900/2100 MHz
•Asia/AUS: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
•850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE:
•ATT: B4/B17
•Asia/AUS: 1800/2600 MHz
http://www.htc.com/asia/smartphones/htc-one-xl/#specs
so is it one x really ready for LTE?
Thats a completely different version called HTC One XL.
You can find it if you search on 'find your device'
I think AT&T's version of HTC One X is equivalent to HTC One XL, which has LTE but no quad-core processor.

Question - Is there more than one hardware version for the HTC One X in the USA? If so... how are they identified and what are they called? Thanks!

there are many versions of the 1x. there is the xl for north american carriers with the qualcomm s4 chip, then theres the international 1x for europe, asia, hongkong, and taiwan, which has the tegra3. then, there is the xc and xt for chinese carriers, both supporting s4 cpus i believe.

Pure One X are only two I would say. The others have some other letter behind the X.

well, name and shape wise no, but class wise yes lol. the sprint evo is basically a customized one x for them, where as the one xl on at&t is basically the northamerican one x with the s4. Also, lots have purchased the one x international from importers in the us, do...we are looking at two different htc one x with differeny innards, and one special variant of the one x with a totally different look.

Anybody have any experience with this? Like any issues with getting 3g/4g data mms etc?

If you have an unlocked at&t One X(L) you should better ask there, as we can only speculate here
But straight Talk uses at&t's network (right?) so it should work.

I don't have one, I am thinking of buying one but want to make sure before I sell my verizon 4s and buy a one x that it will work with straight talk.
So you're getting one from at&t?
Then head over to the at&t and Rogers One X forums, because we have the international One X here.
If you get the international One X and sraight talk uses at&t's network it should work, because some users here use at&t and zedomax got a video of his One X running fine with at&t.

I was looking at the coverage map and it looks terrible for android users. is it really that spotty?
Hi all,
I have a question maybe people who know more than me can answer easy on that.
My wife contract is done and i want to upgrade my own phone.
Wonder if i get the HTC One X at Rogers if it can be unlocked to Telus network or not ?
(mostly about the frequency)
Also is my HTC Amaze 4G (current phone) can also be used on Rogers network.
The plan would be to get a contract at Rogers for a new HTC One X and put it for me on Telus.
Give my HTC Amaze 4G to my wife on Rogers.
Any help would be appreciated
Eric

Well, this is the HTC ONE X (Tegra3) sub forum, not the ONE XL (snapdragon) or US network compatability forum.
So you're in the wrong place on multiple counts.

Wrong phone. The Rogers One X is actually the One XL. Get out of this forum and never come back because installing anything here on a Rogers One X will give you a very pretty brick.

Tanks
But I can unlock it myself.
Did it many time on many devices. (Tanks to all How-To on XDA)
Question was about compatibility of frequency.
About the actual device on Telus band.
Telus just release the One X, is it the same device?

then get the one we are using, the international htc one x. better support, bigger storage. the telus and rogers xl has only 9.9 gb of user accessible storage, while.we have 25gb. 10gb is not near enough to what people put on phones these days, pics, movies, videos, games music

But this phone doesn't do LTE, so if you want stupid fast downloads, maybe it isn't the best choice.
Also, mainboards for this can't be imported to USA due to frivolous Apple behaviour, so if you want a warranty, maybe this isn't the best choice.
This guy needs simple answers.
Rogers HTC One X (16GB) will work on the Telus network if SIM-Unlocked. LTE
Telus HTC One X (16GB) will work on the Telus network. LTE
AT&T HTC One X (16GB) will work on the Telus network if SIM-Unlocked. LTE
International HTC One X (Quad-core nVidia Tegra 3 processor, 16GB or 32GB) will work on the Telus Network. It comes factory unlocked. NON-LTE
Australian Telstra HTC One X (Dual-core Snapdragon with 32GB) will work on the Telus network if SIM-Unlocked. LTE
Hope that helps.
