I've found this thread, which says that CM9 is ported for SGY but yet to be de-bugged
http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-y/551969-too-close-ice-cream-sandwich.html
Devs here can probably peek into it, possibly debug and make the port work!!
I'm merely posting what i saw, I didnt port the ROM and dont know who the developer(s) is(are)!!
you know where to hit 'THANKS'
Its the same thing being done here in dev section, the thread is closed for now till they manage to get a working version

EDIT: It is now fully working except camera. Stay tuned

Here is the issue: http://github.com/loxK/android_device_htc_hero/issues#issue/3
Status:
- wifi ok
- BT ok
- Accelerometer: ok
- Jogball: ok
- HW keys: ok
- Camera: fails
- Touch screen: fails
What about the mic, is it working? Thanks for your help to the hero community. Are you going to return to us?
This happens because some of the libs (HTC + android) are meant to be dl-opened and some are prelinked.
You can always play around with ldd to find which are dynamic and which aren't.
libaudio / libaudioeq / libhardware_legacy tend to cause problems.
Touch screen is now working, was kernel related. But proprietary libs are still not getting linked correctly...

I do not belong to anyone. I do the work I need for me, or concerning Hero, for my girlfriend needs. I just share it, that is all.
But please do respect the " [dev] " in the thread subject and do not pollute and wait for a release.
Can you give these libs a try?
http://www.multiupload.com/EIPA5SFXAW
I created a full Froyo build with HTC propitiatory drivers.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I tried but same error. So u managed to build/run it from source? Is your vendor or device tree somewhere online ?
after having JIT working on Sense 2.1 (thanks for Feeyo) and having the official 2.1 Froyo is the most important thing - I think
The communities eyes are on you guys C:
Good luck!

I have build it from source yea and got booted up. Although I am having a lot of issues with FC's. I used the sapphire tree with edits and used the 2.1 Hero proprietary drivers to compile it correctly.
I got struck on that spl thing, but Darchstar have near working froyo for cdma. So there is probably some solution to touchscreen problem at least. Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686893
and here:
http://github.com/darchstar
It is now fully working except camera (didn't sleep for 24 hours now and still awake!).
Stay tuned!
Woah great work! I'm guessing you will release it when you get the camera working?
I will defiantly flash as soon this is out
Cant wait

awesome stuff, cant wait to try a froyo build.
Now this shows who's the real "ROM assembler". None of the popular* ROM "developers" have achieved this. Thanks and congrats Lox_Dev!
* I'm referring to those people who are considering themselves experts in ROM "development".

in fairness RaduG compiled Cyan 5.0.7 from Source. He's been on holiday since before Froyo sources were released (AND RaduG is 17!)
But definately, Lox is one of the forefront devs to have looked at Hero, along with Paul, MoDaCo who prefers to deal with Sense than Cyan
Im quite looking forward to trying this. Thank you for your hard work!
it doesn´t mind for me if the camera is not working because i do not use it, but only if you can´t solve it, i think that you can release it and then make an update.zip fix for the camera like other devs.
but whitout any hurry, this is only my opinion.
i can´t wait to flash this.
good job man.
It must be fun to know that xda and twitter get hammered by people waiting for a download link . Great effort, Lox. Again you start the route to a great variety of Froyo Roms on our not yet old-fashioned Heroes
Thanks for making your source tree public and let others benefit from your findings. Nice stroke.
Things you might want to test: (you asked on twitter)
- Proximity sensor
- Brightness sensor
- Location searching through WLAN
- Gmail sync
- Full market access
- Alarm clock
- su (root)
BTW: Can't wait to modify my Exchange password policy removal tool to work on Froyo. If you need assistance in testing, let me know
just a question, will we be able to flash it tonight?
Welcome to the Original Development for the Evo
4g
Explanation
This section is for original works of art. It is meant to make developers strive for something better and to push the envelope. Our hopes are that developers will work even hard to get their work in here and even harder to keep it in here. All roms in here are actively being updated and maintained.
This section is for a number of things
1. Source build of original roms- Meaning a build that is made original built from source and maintained by creator
2. Maintainers- Roms that were created by an original developer but they have moved on and another developer has taken over as the maintainer (with permission from the originator)
3. Significant ports- Port of roms that are a huge significant development (one port only)
4. Kernels- Original kernels with open source made public on github and 100% gpl compliant. Source is up to date with current version
5. Mods- Original mods made. No ports at all
Make Sure
1. OP is clean and clear
2 Kernel source is gpl compliant and linked to either the orignators OP(where source link can be found) or to the github of their source
3. All build information is stated. (kernel, build type, credits(with links), changelog, whats broken, and screen shots)
What does not go in here?
1. Roms that are copy/paste, kitchen created, themed copy of other roms.
2. Ports not deemed significant or that have already been ported by someone else first
3. Guides
If you think your rom from development section deserves to be in here then PM a forum moderator and request that it be moved. The forum moderators in the evo section with make a group decision and move it if agreed upon. This makes it fair for all.
Things that must be in PM to get consideration
1. Link to the OP
2. What qualifies your rom
3. You are the owner of said thread
Please do not!
1. PM the moderators asking that your favorite rom be added
2. Try and have old threads that were once original be added (looking for active development only)
3. Get your feelings hurt if your turned down. No one is against you at all and your work is very much appreciated
4. Accuse the Mod team of playing favorites. We are all here to better our phones and put forward the best of the best and no one will be denied based on personal likes or dislikes of a person, team, or rom. It is all based on the criteria set above and thats it.
There are no exceptions of the above guidelines.
5. Post a thread in here without the Moderators approval. It will be deleted no questions asked. I'd hate to see a whole thread get deleted and you have to retype out the OP cause I know how time consuming it is.
Hi, I wonder when they will get cm9 stable for everyday use. or if there is any way to make it work the camera and audio and microphone?
I understand it's very difficult but I would like to have it.
there a ROM like this?
sorry for the bad English. thanks google translator
please dont create threads for this - we have a cm9 discussion thread
The answer to your question is not without building the libs from source - Current work is on cm11 and once all the sources work than it will be rolled out - Thats if it is managable - No ETAs
I refer you to these threads

Thank you.

Optimus G Owners,
I am working on my first build from source. I noticed we didn't have an updated build of ChameleonOS 4.4 of this forum. I am fairly new to this and have a fully capable pc to build it from scratch. Problem is I need some help with building and some testers. So if your interested in a collaboration with this build please leave a comment or leave me a message.
I have in installed Python, Git and the Sdk and am working on Forks and Repos. If you know of any good sources or suggestion please feel free to leave the below .
Repo is in progress
should be a couple hours to finish downloading and about an hour to build will try first build on my phone to see if it boots. if so I will post a download link to try it out.

I'm up for testing. I use multiRom. That could either be a benefit to your testing or a downfall. I usually like to know and inform others that use Multi what any issues are.

Multi ROm? Yes, the app is not supported on our device, nor is the official recovery. If you are interested, I will link you to the xda thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734551
Follow this and if you have any questions ask them in that thread. I will help if you need. Just don't want to clutter your thread with questions about that one.
nice i never knew that was there.

The build failed, or the rom failed to boot?

Never heard of chameleon os, but I'd love to test
VanirAOSP and Commotio Android MM 6.0.1 for the SPH-L710
Credits go to Team Vanir and DHO for the development of these roms.
Disclaimer : Use these ROM's at your own risk and please don't blame me if you brick your device . If you are new and don't know what your doing please don't flash these ROMS until you've done your research , read through the thread, and made yourself aware of previous known issues. THIS THREAD IS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND BUG REPORTING ONLY EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE IGNORED. Use the Q&A thread for questions and other issues.
Note for mods: I am taking over for MonstaDriva, if this thread presents an issue or there is a better way to do this let me know.
This thread will be updated as I remember to add things.
I do not have this device, therefore I can not test any builds. I am also not known in the Vanir/Commotio community yet. This is my first time maintaining a device, I will probably screw up, a lot, until I get practiced at it. Because I do not have this device, I am extremely reliant on bug reports by the community, therefore if you are not reporting a bug all other questions or issues go in the Q&A thread. I REPEAT THIS THREAD IS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND BUG REPORTING ONLY EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE IGNORED. This is to keep this thread clean so I can keep track of what needs to be fixed.
The following is required if reporting a bug, everything else will not receive a response and the bug may or may not be ignored.
Reporting a bug:
Read through the whole thread. See if bug is already reported
Read through again.
If bug is already reported, provide link to original report, add your logs, and any extra information that expands upon what is missing.
List rom. EG. Vanir or Commotio
List build date
List official or unofficial
Describe issue in detail. All know facts
Steps to reproduce issue
Logs. Any and every log imaginable. Eg. Logcat, kmesg, dmesg, etc.
Read through the whole thread again
Anything else that will help diagnose the issue
If you can satisfy all the above requirements then you may report a bug.

Looks good. Lrs121, for not having this device, you have definitely done a lot for it. Thanks bro.
I was honestly expecting this thread to explode with comments. Well I've gotten a new wireless card and can begin attempting to push patches if anyone thinks they may be necessary.

Vanir run's so good usually that there's seldom any issue even when other devices are having them . You are sort of like the infamous Maytag Repairman Bored for wanting to patch . Sent you a pm .
Anyone install this yet?? Screenshots would be cool...
I JUST reverted back to Wicked X 4.4 because the new 6.0 Roms i've tried (OctOS, AICP) have the exact same issues with phone calls, audio, and especially BT. They're usable, but barely. Takes too long for calls to answer, and it's buggy....after answering, they'll still appear to be receiving a call haha. They're heavily based on CM13. Dunno how much AOSP. If someone had a screenshot of their InCallUI with this ROM that'd be awesome.... if it's different I'd go ahead and wipe 4.4 again to try it.
EDIT
If there's a Q&A thread, I couldn't find it....Im sorry to be so noob but, should I just make a new thread? Again, such noob but, would it make sense to make a thread in QA titled the same as this thread, and link to THAT thread in this thread's OP?
