hello, ive been having this problem for quite a long time and im getting tired of it. it all started a while back when i finally got my wfs rooted, i was trying out the few roms that are available for the marvelc when i got stuck on the htc screen after trying to flash hensemod 6. to get my phone to boot again i installed the metropcs RUU, but once i got it to boot i come to find out that i get no mobile internet or any of the apps that come along with that such as gps or google maps.
at this point i am unsure of what to do as i have tried most everything i can find on google to no avail, so i have a few simple questions that maybe someone can answer.
1. do cdma phones use APNs?(metropcs specifically)
2. what are the HA and AAA codes i just recently read about used for?
3. is there any way i lost these keys when i flashed my phone?
all help is appreciated and i will be sure to give thanks as i have never gotten a response on this site so even if u respond to me you deserve my thanks.
bump...... does any1 from cali have the metropcs apn settings?
Search Google for your APN then add it

if it was that simple i would have already had it done. ive tried plenty of apns for metro with no success. also the only way i can seem to access my apn settings is by using a few different apn apps because in my mobile network menu it doesnt have an apn section. is this normal for metropcs phones?
I heard insink's rom works for pcs.

Hi i have been unable to find any information on this and i am new to android so i thought i might ask
I flashed my HTC Wildfire to wildpuzzle version 8.0.11 last night and i am now unable to get 3G on the 3 network. My phone is rooted using the unrevoked method. I know about the problems of not getting weather, location etc. but I cant seem to find any info on this problem. I have checked that my carriers network is correctly selected and it is.
Any help in fixing this problem would be much appreciated
Have you checked the APN settings for Three? Are they the same as the ones set in your phone under the mobile internet settings?
Same problem, pm me when you found a solution.

wow this was an old thread as the above user said its probably your apn settings. have you tried going into the 3 store and asking them to set it up for you? they are usually quite happy to
Unable to set or change the APN after flashing cm7. The list shows up blank and while I do get a signal and can make calls I cannot use cell data. I did the process from scratch twice and even flashed down to .368 which did not help. I saw a guy using Telia with the same issue on CM forums. I use AT&T with LT15a, bootloader remote unlocked to preserve DRM keys.

But you can MANUALY set this settings?
Sent from my MT15i using Tapatalk
No you cannot manually set the APN. The problem has been acknowledged and fixed.
Fixed build is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18361893&postcount=1393
Hi,
this build does not work for me.
I´am the last with this bug?
I tried these builds
- update-cm-7.1.0-XperiaArc-LT15i-SELFKANG-RILTEST-signed
- update-cm-7.1.0.1-XperiaArc-LT15i-signed
- update-cm-7.1.0-XperiaArc-LT15i-KANG-signed.
Always the same with data connection.
My provider is t-mobile.de.
My sim-card is realy old, i think 10 years. Is this the reason?
regards haudegen
Yeah actually a sim that old will never work with 3g. I learned this on T-Mobile in the US. From what I understand there is a 3g component in the newer Sims. Just get a new card.

A new card solved the problem.

I have a U.S Cellular htc one v. I was able to unlock the bootloader and root the phone with no problem. I installed Vanilla ICS The phone started fine, calls and messages work fine but I dont get any data. Is there something i did wrong? Are there any settings that need to be changed. I am open to some ideas. Thanks.
All cdma Roma are for virgin mobile. So virgin apns are used

Usually Some ROMS include a Cricket.zip that does it for you.

Almost ready to root my buddy's E4GT on Virgin using the one-click Virgin Mobile method, but can't seem to get an answer on APN settings once it's done. Planning on doing PACman rom for him, but I'm guessing I have to set the APN settings correctly to get MMS to work?

You just need to flash one of the zips from the following thread.

Here is another thread that I've heard gets a lot of success. Good luck, let us know how it works out.

I ported my phone to straight talk from sprint and my data is working but the speeds are very slow. Straight talk told me to manually enter APN settings they provided me but it's not where it is supposed to be under the mobile networks settings. LG support told me it should be there and if it's not that Sprint has removed, hidden or disabled it. Does anyone know how to access APN settings on this phone?

I'm not sure because Ive never had to do it on this phone. I know Sprint has removed/hidden/disabled it. Certain 3rd party messaging apps will allow you to change the apn settings but I dont think it's system wide. I'm not by my phone currently so I cant test this right now but we do have a hidden menu. From your phone dial 3845#*970# to access the hidden menu.
If apn settings aren't in there you could always try a different rom. You would have to be rooted and unlocked with a custom recovery but most of them will allow you to change the apn settings. If you go that route, head over to the original development section for our phone and read the root guide by engine95 found there VERY CAREFULLY. Sorry if this isn't much help but like I said, Ive never had to do this because I'm still on Sprint Stock.
I tried some apps but they don't work on android 4+ they say and I've tried some secret menus with no success. Can't remember if I tried that one or not. Ill check real quick. I am rooted but I've been hesitant to switch Rome since stock works so well but I may have to look into it. Can anyone recommend a hassle free rom?

Yeah I was worried it wouldnt be in there. Most roms have some slight issues, I prefer stock myself and have been modifying it manually. Cyanogenmod 10.2 is probably your best bet though. It's based on Android 4.3, CM 11 is 4.4 based and mostly smooth but still not labeled as stable.
EDIT: Just make sure you make a full backup of what you have now in TWRP. I'd use TWRP 2.5.0.0 btw. Backup all partitions so if something goes wrong you can restore it back. And follow the install directions for CM precisely. Good luck!
try thisOffline SIM APN Database Otherwise consider using a custom rom or even a stock variant.
I'm not sure that database will help me since Sprint is cdma, but also I already have the correct apn settings from straight talk. My phone just doesn't doesn't have the option to input them thanks to Sprint. Cell providers really need to stop locking people in at this point. If your services were good and your price was competitive then people would stay with you, without the gimmicks. Sorry to rant I'm just really sick of all the cat and mouse games of unlocking a phone. I think I probably will just use a custom rom since my phone won't have anymore limitations after that, but that is still more work than I wanted to do just to change apn settings. Thanks for the feedback guys!

I have heard of other apps not having much luck with changing apn settings for us. Even tho I dont currently need it, thanks for the heads up!
It didn't change it for me. It said ICS or later prevents it but it did allow me to open the menu which was good enough for me. Still having a problem where after a reboot it keeps creating the sprint apn after I delete it but I figure that's baked into this stock rom somehow. Prob still be switching roms but I will play with it some more. It also keeps trying to reactivate on sprint but I was glad to at least see the menu. If it were not for some clever sprint engineers that app would have worked perfectly.
