Is there anyone running these leaks in Houston? I have tried all modems but just not getting good coverage or speeds. Was wondering what others have used or are seeing to help narrow down some options. Thanks in advance. Thanks to the devs for all their hard work and the community here.

I live in Austin and the last time I was in Houston I was on EL29 about 2 months ago. In the downtown area both 3g and 4g were solid as a rock but outside the loop it varied greatly just like it does around Austin. Speeds should be picking up shortly since Houston is an early LTE city. Im currently running the FE16 modem in Austin with a FE16 based rom and its as good as anything else. Its not the modem its Sprint
Thanks and a thanks sent your way!

Are you making sure to update profile and prl every time you flash a new modem?
Gps okay, speed slooow

I live in the Katy area and tried the FE modems and they did not do as good as the FC18 one in particular, great speeds and kind to the battery
I am updating the profile and PRL then rebooting all successful, but the speeds just stink. I have tried all leaked modems but think there are so many i was losing track. Thanks for the input and advice. Appreciate it.

I know its been asked before. But what modem do you guys get the best performance on? I'm pulling 50% of my el29 speeds on ff11. Unless I got tower upgrades in my area. Lol

Modems are always different for different people and areas. The one that works best for you might suck in my area.

This.
Nonetheless, I've had the best results with el29 ek02 and fc24. Make sure you update your profile and prl.

Its odd....at home, fe10 is my best bet. When I was in Hawaii earlier in the week, ff11 worked great. Choose one and use apps like open signal and GPS status to test what results work for you. Both free from the market.

FF11 is the first modem since EL29 that I can honestly say performs good enough for me to leave EL29.

For me the best one is EK02. EL29 and FD26 the FFXX ones sucks in my area no signal bars no data most of the time.

EL29 seem to work fine in the east coast. Lets hope they release ICS before june is over
somebody just needs to make a poll so people can see who and how many are using what modem. Then underneath the poll educate people by saying, " experiences may vary". That way at least people could get a baseline and see which ones are popular.
Ek02 works well for me. Stronger wifi at least than ff11.

This works best for me as well.
Okay so here is my story.
I have had this phone since it was first released. I have rooted my phone successfully and I have been using custom rom's since gingerbread.
Whenever I install ICS roms, the 4G will always fall to <100kbps on the speed test app. When I go back to gingerbread the 4G speeds are normal.
I've tried about 20 different ICS modems and kernels on various ICS roms and I get the same results.
Just today I went to the Sprint store and got my phone replaced thinking maybe I just had a bad phone. I just installed another ICS ROM and I'm getting the same Bull**** 4G speeds... WTF (I'm tight)
Any advice, tips, ideas, or am I just a duncebat?

When I talk to other people on the ICS Rom threads it sounds as if I'm the only one with that problem and everyone else's speeds are just fine.

I get that same problem. And it gets stranger still. I pay for 30Mbps internet at home. If I speed test on my computer, I get 30, or damn close to it. But when I speed test on my phone, I get a whopping 10. Since wimax is wifi, I am guessing that its a problem in the modem related to wifi. Anyone else experiencing this?

How it runs with your phone etc? location doesn't matter just wanna see if its worth checking out
I've heard some bad things about it. It was just a leak and never went official. So I would not recommend it. I ended up having to flash fc09 back on because it went out of service and wouldn't come back on.

Just wanted it so when my wife messed with me I could flash it so when I killed Kissed her she wouldn't have service. lmfao
Idk what you're all talking about. Been using it since it leaked and my connection and speeds are fantastic.

Thanks for confirming that different modems react differently for different phones/areas!
As mentioned above, YMMV. But here was my modem test (4-5 bars signal, 3 tests each) using SpeedTest.Net's app in Raleigh:
FC09: 0.69 Mbps download, 0.67 Mbps upload average
FC19: 0.31 Mbps download, 0.5 Mbps upload average
FC19 Tests
0.27d/0.53u
0.29d/0.39u
0.37d/0.57u
FC09 Tests
0.67d/0.69u
0.66d/0.65u
0.75d/0.68u
Each phone reacts differently to modems. Plain and simple. Try each modem out until you find the one that works best for you.
I ended up back on EI22.
Would like to keep track of who all is having issues, or experiencing better signal with the latest FE13 modem (either leaked or official).
If you could please vote in the pool, that would be wonderful.
Tittle should say FH13.
I have crappy signal with almost every modem except for EL29 and now FH13 still kind of crappy but definitely in same league of EL29 for me. I'm at Puerto Rico 00612
Will answer your poll as soon as I get home.

Improved for me pretty much everywhere but work. I roam there now for some reason but get better signal pretty much everywhere else. I am using my stock rom based off the leaked tar provided by Sextape.
I havent noticed anyhing spectacular with any radio since el29. But here in mexico only 3g works. No issues with phone calls or sms tho

I don't know if it's network/tower congestion or what but fh13 seems worse than el29. I don't know if it makes a difference because I used to run different modems than the rom I was on but lately I've been using the same modem/rom.
Howdy, Well i've been a member for a bit.. Just picked up a Touch for little to nothing. Moving from the Original Epic to this. (Was running CM10/Crespo (NS4G) modem. Just finished installing CM10 on this one. Wondering which modem would allow fastest speeds. Any other tid bits of info are welcome too.. Like i said, new to this device specifically. Devs, if this belongs somewhere else, please move and i apologize for posting in wrong location. Community, Thanks for the help!
Módem speeds depend mostly by area and coverage. I remember a thread about modems and people reporting their experience by area and modem, but can't find it.
As soon as I find it I link you to the thread, if someone happens to find it first better yet.
Edit: Finally found the thread.

+1:good:
I am in Seattle and the only 2 places I ever saw 4G is the Sprint store or the Sprint stand in the mall.
Soon as you leave 4G vanishes and only 3G exist.
Since sprint is going LTE I will stay with them. If they was not going LTE I'd bail.
Need to look around at the kernals, modems and roms as well.
My ET4G died and got a new one and they loaded with ICS.
