Would like to keep track of who all is having issues, or experiencing better signal with the latest FE13 modem (either leaked or official).
If you could please vote in the pool, that would be wonderful.
Tittle should say FH13.
I have crappy signal with almost every modem except for EL29 and now FH13 still kind of crappy but definitely in same league of EL29 for me. I'm at Puerto Rico 00612
Will answer your poll as soon as I get home.

Improved for me pretty much everywhere but work. I roam there now for some reason but get better signal pretty much everywhere else. I am using my stock rom based off the leaked tar provided by Sextape.
I havent noticed anyhing spectacular with any radio since el29. But here in mexico only 3g works. No issues with phone calls or sms tho

I don't know if it's network/tower congestion or what but fh13 seems worse than el29. I don't know if it makes a difference because I used to run different modems than the rom I was on but lately I've been using the same modem/rom.

I was in love with EG31 for a while, but, EL16 ended up being better in the long run... EL26 didn't impress me so I didn't keep it for more than a couple hours... But given all of the positive responses I'm flashed it and I'm going to "let it settle" for a few days.
... I'm skeptical that "letting it settle" has any effect, but, it seemed to for EL16. Anyone that has any technical explanation (for or against) would be awesome.

I may be crazy... it could all be in my head or just some luck with the GPS process, but since I put on the EL26 stock rom, kernal, and modem (then rooted) it seems like GPS is much better. Satelites synced in few seconds when outside.
Anyone else? I have not applied any of the GPS fix to the stock EL26 yet, may not need too. Have not done any type of testing other than just using navigation and noticing the faster GPS connection (from GPS being completely off too btw).

As far as el26 modem for me it was worse. I used it for 2 days and my speeds were half of what el13 was. I was having worse service and some ghost Los where it just wouldn't connect. Still liking calkulins 2.7 but had to revert my modem back to el13.
I wish Sprint would release an OTA update for this already.

Its odd....at home, fe10 is my best bet. When I was in Hawaii earlier in the week, ff11 worked great. Choose one and use apps like open signal and GPS status to test what results work for you. Both free from the market.

EL29 seem to work fine in the east coast. Lets hope they release ICS before june is over
somebody just needs to make a poll so people can see who and how many are using what modem. Then underneath the poll educate people by saying, " experiences may vary". That way at least people could get a baseline and see which ones are popular.
Ek02 works well for me. Stronger wifi at least than ff11.

It really depends on your phone and the towers you are connected to. Different modems behave differently on different phones, so to find out the sweet spot, you must try them all out and see which one suits you the best.

I havnt tried them all..but I have tried a few from el29 to FC22 to FD16,19 Fe22 to FE02,11,18 and not a single one has really done anything. Where I live, I am literally right on top of a tower and still only getting about 200-500kbs download and 200kbs upload
it does depend on the phone, current rom and service around you. as each phone handles different. for me FF18 is the best for my phone. but even still, I hit around those numbers and a tower is half mile away. lol. just a testiment to sprints wonderful network.

proximity to the tower wouldn't really matter if the sprint service in your area is like it is in my area.... mainly "3g" (don't get anywhere near 3g speeds) only and extremely oversold, theres just too many people trying to use the same tower... hell i average 100-200kbps down and like 30-50kbps up, reallllllly makes me feel good about that $10/month per line over 4 lines....
Very true.

This is a thread to discuss the FG20 build for the Boost Mobile version for our phone.
As to my knowledge there are no issues running it on our Epic 4G Touch without of course a simple APN fix to get MMS.
What we've noticed is that its a more polished version of FF18 and what we should have essentially gotten for our phone.
I would like to know your experiences on FG20 and how it's running for you.
And note any bugs you notice please!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Everything seems fine, some (but fewer than FF18) apps FC on me. The multitask bug is still there, I haven't tested if the exchange bug is still there. Battery life seems a bit sketchy, but better than FF18's. This is near 92-95% percent of what our ICS update should have been in the first place.

I not sure to try the full ROM because I only flash the modem and can't even make a good call 95% of calls drop on me and the people I tell to call me they all went directly to my Voice mail.
Maybe I should try full ROM but dunno.
Edit: I just notice a few hours ago service get a Lil better, I will try again maybe was Sprint Service problems.

I've been on the fg20 modem for a few days now and not had any problem, I've have no 4g in my area and spotty 3g... my 3g speeds have been more or less the same as they were on ff11, but the consistancy and stability of the connection has improved and this has helped my battery life, not that I had an issue with my battery life... voice calls have been good and I've not noticed any change from what I experanced on ff11, which prior to this was the modem I got best results with

Hello, I tried the FG20 rom and noticed that there was no Roaming option in the settings, so I did a quick search for Boost mobile roaming and found that BST doesn't allow roaming. So for now, it's back to the somewhat unreliable (WiFi) FF18

No, sorry. And since my last post, I've gone even further back to old reliable Blazer 4.1. But am keeping the FG20 modem however, figuring that it should be at the very least no worse than either FF18 or EL29.

I'm not sure what you're questioning, but I'll try to be more specific. After trying the FG20 ROM/Modem and realizing that it had no roaming option, I first reverted to a backup of FF18 ROM, keeping the FG20 Modem. But FF18 has an annoying WiFi issue where it often disconnects while in sleep mode. So I then restored old reliable a.k.a Blazer 4.1 ROM which doesn't have any issues whatsoever, or at least any that bothered me. The modem itself, whether EL29, FF18 or FG20, all performed about the same regardless of ROM type, so as of yet, there is no reason to go back to an earlier version than FG20.
Bottom line, when I mentioned WiFi issues, they had nothing to do with modems..... I think.
I am still trying to figure out what makes these builds so different.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm running this but I'm also on boost. Find it to be an improvement over the last few ics leaks. Using agat's latest release 4 which I loaded thru Odin since mobile Odin doesn't recognize the device anymore. All in all pretty smooth with good battery.

+1:good:
I am in Seattle and the only 2 places I ever saw 4G is the Sprint store or the Sprint stand in the mall.
Soon as you leave 4G vanishes and only 3G exist.
Since sprint is going LTE I will stay with them. If they was not going LTE I'd bail.
Need to look around at the kernals, modems and roms as well.
My ET4G died and got a new one and they loaded with ICS.
