Buttons not working? - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Hi, my back and android / option buttons don't work at random intervals.
I don't understand the fix though, tried the following with no success:
1- custom Rom, kernel
2-update touch ( or what its called? Dial some code and click on update)
3- cleaned my phone with a neat cotton cloth, Lol.
4-tried freezing some system apps that keeps running.
My doubt is that this happens overtime my ram consumption goes above 230.
Any help / suggestion is appreciated.

Sorry, but it happened again now, even at ram 182 :-/
Also, restart fixes the issue.

Try to enable vibrate if you click the buttons

Sweaty hands. I have em and it makes using the capacitive keys a pain. I've activated key vibrate, so I'll know if I've really touched it. Drains battery cuz Ima call and text person. It isn't meant for this device, but it kinda feels good. xP

rub your thumb to get it warmer before touching

Alternatives/Mods for CM7 call screen ?

As many of us have experienced the hold button on CM7 screen gets activated accidentally most of the time . Are there any mod's or alternatives to change that screen or button ??????
Dev/ Themer's any clues on how i could go about it
+1. It bugged me so much I had to switch my rom. I want to go back to CM7 but cant as the hold button gets activated each and everytime i put my ear to my phone. The only way i can use my phone like a phone with cm7 is when i am holding it a mile away from my ear.
I just installed CM7 yesterday and tried this now. Why doesnt the screen turn off when you put it next to your ear? Silly decision.

Use the DHD proximity tool to fix that. I had/have this issue there seems to be an issue with kernel or some thing
You know .. i think we should post this on the cm7 website. I know the in call screen is from google, but surely cm7 people can do a better job.

[Q] Screen doesnt come up in sunlight..!!

Hello all,
I have this very annoying problem from so long now.. and I guess I am not the only one who has it.. Whenever I travel on bike and I take my cell out of my pocket under sunlight to change the song or to call someone, the screen doesnt come up.. it goes blank, even if I am listening to some song, still I dont see anything on the screen... Its really annoying.. Also whenever I receive any call under sunlight, I can't disconnect it.. Why the heck sony doesnt have a stable GB software even though ICS has been rolled out now.. Sometimes I feel Samsung is way better than Sony.. seriously.. I feel that I should have gone for the SGSII rather than Xperia Arc.. And u cant compromise everytime when u r investing more than 25K bucks...
In wat way you mean that the screen goes blank? I couldn't get you,

I had the same problem. The first one was after a trip on motorcycle, phone in the pocket. Impossible to have something on the screen while i was able to see the backlight turned on. I left it like that all day long and it resuscitated. Then, recently, it made me the same thing while it was in my bag all day. And even by leaving it on a table, later it was not resuscitated, I have reinstalled the rom, twice to resuscitate it.
During the first crash I was able to see the log file, I remember that there were lines in red which indicated " starting of the module LM365x (or an equivalent number) failed " very numerous times.
Good luck to you to resuscitate your phone!
Do you have screen brightness on automatic maybe?
It could be the sensor think it's bright enough not to switch on the backlight?
Hi, what do u mean by having auto brightness on? How to do it?

Auto brightness is on by default and there's no settings for you to change it.. Try keeping your finger closing the sensor and wake it up!

[App] Flip Case Control - Auto Screen On/Off

I need help with testing for this device and flip style cases.
I had a bunch of requests for Wave Control to have this functionality. Flip Case Control simply turns off the screen with the case is closed and turns it on when it is opened and it is designed to work using as little battery as possible. (I left it running all night ~8.5 hours and the battery dipped 1% more than usual)
IMPORTANT: If your case is black or dark on the inside, the sensor doesn't read correctly when the case is closed. To fix this, put a piece of light colored tape on the inside of the case where it lines up with the sensor (located next to the front camera)
Note: A Samsung based ROM is required. CM doesn't seem to work well.
Demo video:
Thanks! (crossing fingers it works without needing modification)

I haven't tried the app yet but I would recommend a setting where the service can be disabled/suspended while charging for people who leave the case open or take it off while charging.

I use smart screen from the play store. Allows the phone to turn off when light sensor is covered and turns back on when light hits it. Works good for me

Hmm, yeah I could put that option in. Also probably need to have an option to disable if in landscape mode so fingers don't set it off.

This should use quite a bit less battery than that app. The method employed on it prevents your phone from reaching deep sleep when idle. But, because of that will react quicker. So, it's a tradeoff. I chose battery life over response.
Also Flip Case Control is compatible with lock screens if you need the security.

You can just hit back or home and it will stay running in the background. I think I'll add in a close button to make it more intuitive.
Neat Idea
Great Idea .. And Seems to work really well
However I have a Black Flip Case ..
So Doesn't Work for me .. but adding white area to case idea did
You Def need a button for main screen thats says: OK
Or better yet .. ON - Off Buttons lol
Will See how it does on battery life.
Great idea, looking forward to getting my new case and trying this. Thank you

Really - Really Liking the new program ..
Its Soooo nice to have the phone turn on automatically!
Not sure whats up .. But I rebooted and the program didn't restart
with the phone .. had to restart the program and it started working.
Also .. Over night I checked battery level it was at 81% when I went to bed.
In the morning I had 78% - 3% over night!
Just a thought to save battery ..
how about from 12am - 6am have the program unload / turn off ?
That way should be 0 loss over night
BTW .. I removed the white tape ..
And it is working fine now with my leather gray case! LOL
No Idea why it started working.

That's a good idea. I can set it up like in my other app Data Sleep.
I just put out a new version to the play store. But, now I'm thinking it may behave differently on the T-Mobile version due to the different sensor..
Could you try out this version here and see how it works?
This one is the full so the on boot option is enabled.

weird .. it doesn't turn screen off with dark case - screen time out works though.

the new on - off and start on boot is nice
And works after reboot now - Like the message that it started after boot

How about with the tape again? The changes shouldn't affect that though... I think.. unless the case isn't flush. I'm using the light sensor to confirm the case is closed.

Well .. Something changed .. because it was working fine before update. lol
And the case does fit snug / flush against the sensors.
The inside of my case is a gray .. out side is black.
Yes it works with white tape .. kinda ugly fix though. lol
However .. like i said the screen time out works. ( set to 30secs )
and when i open the case it turns the screen on.
So happy with how it works without tape for now

Huh.. weird. I agree it's a pretty hokey fix. I'm trying to figure out a way to handle it in software but haven't figured out a robust solution yet.
Glad you're happy with how it works for you
Thank you so much for helping test it!
Version 1.10
Just put out to the Play Store V1.10:
-Reworked detection method much more robust now
-Option to disable the sensitivity changes from V1.05
-Option for longer timeout for Screen Off
Let me know if I broke anything!
Works great on Tmobile.
Does the newer version offer better battery savings ?
Im more worried about Bat life than anything else what would be optimal settings for that.

New version should be about the same but handle different open and close speeds better. For the best battery life, don't enable the longer screen off timeout... since this leaves the screen on longer and so that uses more battery.
Next version will have a night time disable option so you can set times to turn off the sensor since you won't be using the phone while you sleep. It won't have that much affect on battery life (only really drains at most 1% overnight as it is) but will keep you from running the sensor 24/7.
Version 1.20:
1. New Swipeable UI - Swipe left for settings, Swipe right for Night Disable
2. New Night Disable Mode - Shut off the sensor at night while you sleep. Saves a tiny bit of battery and keeps you from keeping the sensor on 24/7.
3. Auto Start on Boot works on the Trial Version now.
4. Bug fixes
I'm still not happy with the UI. It's functional for presenting the new functionality but I need to polish it up a bit.
What do you all think?
Any other features/options you would like to see?

[Q] Screen Glitching, unable to unlock etc.

Hi,
I am experiencing some really strange problems with my phone. I have a 2-month-old HTC one X. I have never dropped it, it has never been in contact with any fluids or damp areas, also I have never tried to unlock and/or root it. It started two weeks ago. The screen started glitching and behaving weird. Sometimes it would stay for an hour, sometimes it was just a few seconds.
(sadly I cant post outside links, but if you search youtube on "HTC one X screen glitch" and than scroll down you will see a video uploaded by DjStasV. Thats what it looks like. But instead of only glitching on a small portion on the screen it was always the whole screen.
But now, it has gone one step further. Sometimes my phone won't unlock if I press the on/off key. The soft keys light up, but the screen doesn't. I can even get called, the phone will ring and vibrate, but I can not pickup because the screen doesn't turn on. For some reason it sometimes does unlock, but I have not been able to discover a reason for that. Also when I manage to unlock it, it sometimes just freezes (the screen). The phone still works (it rings, the notification LED works, it vibrates), but the screen is just frozen. (also a reboot by holding the power button does not work 9/10 times)
I am hoping someone will recognize this problem, and maybe even know how to solve it. Thanks in advance

In common usage, "fluid" is often used as a synonym for "liquid". But ofcourse, you are right

An issue with calls dropping on S20 Ultra - Proximity sensor issue?

So I have a very weird issue and I'll try to explain the best I can;
For some reason, ever since the S10+ I've had issues with Samsung phones, I think its something to do with the proximity sensor that's now under the glass, I'll explain as I'm getting similar and more issues on my S20 Ultra.
So last year when I had an S10+ and when I was on a call, which I mainly use my left ear (I think my right ear is a few db less so I use my left) I would quite frequently seem to activate the menu (top right) and therefore end up pressing things with my ear, unbeknown to me, sometimes I'd add a 2nd person to the call or simply put the other person on hold! This happened a lot and I was close to sending it off for repair even though I used apps to test to ensure the proximity sensor was working correctly but in the end, I sold it and got an OnePlus 7 Pro, which I didn't have an issue with. During my time with the S10+ I noticed that even though I held the earpiece to my ear I could see the screen light up and that's where I think I'd end up pressing the screen accidentally as I've just explained.
Roll on to now where I'm facing similar issues but also I'm finding if I need both of my hands and therefore use my left shoulder to keep my phone against my ear the call disconnects as if I'm hanging up. Now it seems a straightforward resolution which is not to do that but I've never had this issue before and I've tested it out quite a bit when I do this the screen isn't on and my face is nowhere near the end button!! It's really driving me crazy at the moment and annoying my other half who's normally on the phone to me when this happens!!
Anyone got any suggestions or thoughts, does it happen to anyone else or am I just being stupid??
I haven't gone down the route of resetting the phone yet but I'm going to consider it.
