[Q] How to verify unlocked bootloader? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys can some give me some info.
On my arc s lt18i android 4.0.3 my bootloader says,
bootloader unlock allowed:yes
And when i unlock using Sony's site with my key in fastboot i get this message:
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
version: 0.3
finished. total time: 0.001s
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x1756AF
FE28FD0496
...
(bootloader) Unlock phone requested
FAILED (remote: Phone is already unlocked!)
finished. total time: 0.03s
But when i go to check if unlocked i still get,
bootloader unlock allowed:yes
And not bootloader unlock:yes
Is there another way to verify unlock?
Cheers Tony

Try booting a custom kernel by this code.
Fastboot boot boot.img
Where boot.img is the name of the kernel.
Sent from my Xperia Pro using XDA

Cheers, kernel flash successful, now to choose a rom.

kernel must match with rom!

Yeah did that, Cheers.

Ey bro!! Can you please tell me how you fixed it?? I have the same problem to do it ;confused:

Hi it's been a while since i've had my arc. But when flashing any kernel you must flash it as boot.img through fastboot. As a safety measure i always have a stock rom downloaded in case of any errors so you should download a matching Tft rom to yours. Have a look at some roms you want to try and see what kernel will suit you best as they are all different. Hope this helps.

Please help

First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

Because Im askin for little help and step by step guide from people who mastered that, from this forum.

Oh, OK then. Your phone doesn't have an unlockable bootloader because it's SIM locked to a network provider.
You can unlock it unofficially for a few bucks.

You CAN unlock it -- just not for free.
SIM/network lock:
[Dialer] > *#*#SERVICE#*#* > Service Info > SIM lock
- Network
- SIM
0 = unlocked, 1 or otherwise = locked.
Paid bootloader unlocking also SIM/network unlocks, as shown in the video above.

In case if your phone is NOT sim-locked,try this :
check your IMEI number,if it starts with 0 (zero) then you MUST enter 0 while typing your IMEI number at SE site while getting your unlock code.
EX: IMEI no. is 012342565325431 then you must start from 01234256532543 and ignore the last digit. Then, you will get a code which when entered, will unlock your bootloader.
I have the phone ARC S LT18i and my phone says in the Service Mode:
"Bootloader unlock allowed: no"
Is there anywhere a tutorial how I can get a unlocked bootloader, or it is not possible to unlock?

The solution is in that thread:

Don't forget to do NAND Backup if you start root or try install custom rom. The backup is for any case if something goes wrong . But for me for now stay on STOCK. Because no more RUU after 3.14.401.31 only nandroid backup.

Don't worry bro..... I have simple solution for this. You don't need to download that SDK(1.6GB) file.
firstly, download "android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows" on sony website otherwise you can find in google also.
secondly, install that and open "SDK Manager" .

lmao, did you guys unlocking bootloader via fastboot cmd?
Your motherboard memory is locked, next to the device state section you have no rpbm, that's Replay protected memory blocked.
You can do nothing, I'm in the same case.
All replaced motherboards are being blocked by rooting.
You can read about it in reddit, everywhere.
Only commands are workable are some kind of WRITE, READ.
That's a ****, I know. I'm trying to complain about refund my money or for a new device. Do the same if you don't want to leave in current stare.
