I have a strange problem. I like to flash roms... I always wipe everything 3 times between flashes. I currently run DigitalKarma seduction and the latest SOS rom with no problems. I used to run nitrous but lately I cannot get the nanroid to flash nor can I get a new flash to work... It just sits on the white Htc screen forever. It also does this on Decks Reloaded. Why can I flash certain roms while others wont even boot. I'm an using ramonra recovery ang im on hardware version 4. Any ideas?

When I had nandroid problems, I just re-flashed recovery and it fixed them. Give it shot
Thanks for that but I did flash recovery again... Still nothing. Nitrous and decks reloaded just get stuck on boot and wont load. Frustrating...

Are you partitioned using ext 3?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Yes... ext 3. I can flash sos, digital karma seduction, supermagic but I still can't flash decks reloaded or nitrous rom...

I have the same issue just with different roms. I can't flash Infected roms, Derp3D, or the anthrax kernel no matter what I try. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
SD is partitioned with ext3, hboot 0.97.0000 s-off
Try upgrading your Hboot, also had the same issues at one time. Started useing Ra 3.11 (or smelkus 4.2) and havent had any flash issues since. As far as nandroids, sounds like data corruption.
Once you resolve your flash issues you may have to make new backups.

I've been using ra 3.11 for a long while now, still can't flash certain roms. What hboot should I be using? Currently on 0.97.
Cant really say what you should be. Useing, myself, Im useing HBOOT 6.16.1002 with RA 3.11, check at htcdev for more info about it. I was on HBOOT 1.5 (Ithink). Whan i got s-off it upgraded it to 6.16.

Found a solution... I used rom manager and flashed the clockwork recovery. I was then able to flash Decks and Nitrous. I dont know why that worked but it did. The only bummer is when I want to restore a nanroid from Amonra recovery I will need to flash back to Amonra, I believe.

Yes that would be the case, but glad you found something that worked.

I can't seem to flash any roms that have anthrax kernel. Can't seem to flash the kernel by it self either? Any suggestions?

if your hboot is 0.76 ENG you have to upgrade your hboot for anthrax kernel
My hboot is 0.97 and I'm using ra 3.11.
The rom goes through the entire flash process up to the boot.img then flags error or hangs on the HTC Evo splash screen indefinitely. I've waited to over 30min before.
I flashed back to ra 2.3 and have had no problems flashing or restoring at least 4 different roms.

Hey there, was wondering if the newer clockwork mod recovery would install the updated amon_ra? Or is the only way to get it in that annoying instruction thread where I feel like I'm being talked down to in the disclaimer?
Thanks!

I also have the Amon_ra on HD 004 and would like to use the new clockwork mod. I might give it a few days until all the bugs are worked out though seeing that alot of people are having problems
Do you have Rom Manager? I use it to switch between Clockwork and Amon Ra. You don't even have to power off the phone for the switch.
No I don't have It as of now, but 1 click of the a button I could.
But does the amon_ra that clockwork install have the new partitions? Anybody know?

So? Anybody know? This seems to be a huge oversight that could eff people's phones.

Your best bet is to download a copy of the modified Amon RA and only flash that one. Once you get the hang of flashing images it's simple to do.

For some reason I can't flash my radio/wimax/pri to the latest versions for some reason, I boot into ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0 and run the .zip file and it looks like it's running and it says updating radios for a split second then it takes me back to recovery.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
I think you have to reboot before it flashes the images
I have tried first flashing the rom and then reboot into recovery and flash the .zip file but it still does the same thing, run for a split second and then go back to recovery and when I boot and check the radio version iit shows no change

Try using a lower version of clockworkmod... lots of problems for people with the versions 3+. I currently use 2.6.0.1 and everything works perfectly. 3+ is meant for the newest of new Rom's like Cyanogen 7... if your not on that, flash an older version.
P.s. stick with 2.6.0.1 as it backs up your wimax keys...
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I will give that a shot. Thanks for the help!
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
In rom manager it only shows 2.5.0.7
Is there a link to how to flash to 2.6.0.1?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yes I'm on my evo so I'm not going go searching for it... but you should be able to find it fairly easy. If I remember correctly I had to get the correct file, then rename it to pc3600.img then boot into bootloader and it will auto find it and ask you if you want to start the update.
Or you could just use the version that Rom Manager has but it wont back up your wimax and if you somehow lose that you'll hate your life...

I have a rooted EVO running the AVA-FROYOZ3 ROM. I has to has Clockwork Version 2.5.0.7 to install this Rom because it wouldn't work with the newer version. I am going to install the OMGB Stock Gingerbread ROM. Do I have to update to clockwork 3.0.0.5 before I flash the Rom?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I would recommend the latest cw 3.0 or amon ra 2.3. Preferably amon ra 2.3 imo.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026
The bootloader method would be the easiest to flash amon ra but if you do kiss rom manager good bye (if you use it).
So if I want clockwork 3.0 I can just flash it through ROM Manager and it won't mess up my current Rom?

Correct, and it shouldn't break or mess up anything.

I doubt it, however and as has already been suggested, you really should consider switching to amon-RA v2.3. I don't know of a rom yet that can't be flashed with it and when you run into trouble, more than likely, you will need amon-RA to get you out of it. At least that has been my experience.

Yea I switched to Amon-RA and all went fine. Thanks guys. Quick question. Can I restore the nandroid backups I made through Clockwork with Amon -RA?

Flashed cm7 on bosses Inc and then gapps. Got the phone booted then went to file manager to move the radio to SD root then rebooted to hboot and it doesn't see the radio image which is named correctly.
So I can't flash the new radio but the phones ril is working so...
Next, the market will not open... just hangs at the white screen the shuts down and goes to the home screen

I'm having the same problem with Market right now. Just flashed CM7 7.0 final. Tried several other ROMs too. They're all doing the same thing.
Had the wrong gapps flashed lol. Funny thing is had a customer come in with a stock ally doing the same thing and a rooted d2 doing it too lol.
Still doesn't change the cackle I can't flash anything through hboot on this phone

I've tried 3 different GAPPS packages, plus Sense ROMs are doing it for me too.
Is your sdcard formatted to fat 32? Necessary to flash via hboot.
Ill have to check that, the one thing I forgot, what is it stock?
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
Before you install your ROM make sure you wipe everything. Make sure you format /system
Doing those 2 things will fix most people's problems.
Also CM7.0 is pretty buggy, I would suggest flashing RC1 or preferably one of the latest nightlies.

FAT, so if you didn't format it, that's your problem.

Okay, so the phone was running awesome. Then he went to hang up on a call and the phone rebooted. It went into a boot loop. So I restored stock nandroid. Then wiped and reinstalled cm7 and all was good. dropped back down to recovery and flashed gapps and the phone boot looped again... I'm baffled.
Running cm7

When upgrading from nightly to nightly, I only do a dalvik wipe which can be done via RM. But when going from different roms, you need to do a full wipe, including system, which can only be done in recovery.
I don't know much about this stuff but what I have experienced is that rom manager sometimes doesn't fully wipe cache and dalvik cache and it makes my phone loop

You don't. You learn how to flash a ROM/kernel via Among RA by reading one of a thousand tutorials on this forum. Use the search feature. That's what its there for.
