My phone doesn't start...when i press the power button..the samsung logo comes on for a few seconds and the phone turns off again...if i remove the battery and insert again...the phone automatically starts without pressing the power button and the same thing happens as mentioned above...does this mean i have bricked my phone??? I wasn't trying anything fancy with my phone...when my phone was working before the "brick",on pressing the lock screen button..the turn off menu used to appear

Check whether the download mode appears(press vol down+home+power button)....if it appears then you still have a chance to recover your phone back.

no the same thing happens when i enter download mode or recover mode...it starts just for maybe 3 seconds and then again the phone turns off
Then you need to post your problem here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600373. Maybe they'll come up with solution. Btw what were you flashing that your phone is bricked this kinda hard??

i wasn't flashing anything...just using it normally and then tried to lock the screen but instead of locking the phone switched off....that's why am not sure whether the phone's really bricked or there's some other problem
well...it seems that your batery is empty. try to turn it on with charger plugged in.
i think it's battery problem.
try this :
remove the battery from your phone
wait for atleast 40 sec
insert it
connect your phone to charger
wait till the charging icon appears
switch it on

Hey guys,
Was just looking through the market and saw an animations app, so i downloaded it, installed as normal, accepted the superuser request and chose what animation i wanted, (I chose blur if it makes any difference). It then requested a reboot, so i rebooted, but now nothing happens to my phone, It is just like the phone is powered off, nothing comes up on the screen. Ive tried booting normally and booting into recovery but nothing
Any ideas?
I'm using Leedroid ROM and Kernel, both on the latest versions.
Thanks in advance.

Take the battery out again, put it back and then hold volume down & power button. You can also connect the charger to be sure that this is not caused by low battery level. If it still stays off, you should send it to HTC.

You have no other choice. Software mods do not void warranty, so it should be ok.

Hi
I have the same problem. When I put the Battery and plug in the chagher the red led start to flash.
After 1 minute stops.
If someone can help us we will be very happy!!!!!!

Got the same problem after starting to format my sdcard with cwm. Just nothing happens anymore, but when i connect my dhd to my computer its indicated as device "qhsusb_dload", but i cant access it with adb or anything. Tried to foce install htc-drivers, but didnt help. Gonna take it to a local o2 store and check if there can be anything done bout it.
when i drained my battery fully to the point that it turns itself off, when i plugged it in it sort of looped into boot, but after i remove the charger and plugged it again, the red light turned on and i just left if for ten minutes, then pressed the power button then i turned on as normal.
i'm thinking it might be because the battery is just too drained at one point.

Guys
I had the same problem.
I charged aways the phone by the USB on my PC.
But this is a problem.
Try to charge for an Hour or two your usb original charger your phone.
My problem was that the battery was so empty that the PC USB coudn't had the power to charge it. The Original Charger CAN.
So dont wait more and put it and Charge.
Tell me if this was the resolution.
Bye bye
i don't know what happened, i didn't root it or did anything to it. it just randomly turned itself off and didn't start up again. then suddenly it happened to load the battery again and i was able to boot it, but here the ****ed up part came... it showed me the samsung startup logo and everything but then weird green vertical stripes(like the matrix) appeared and nothing more happened. few reboots after, same problem as in the beginning, it's not starting up again. help me please

I was rooted with CM10.1.0 and was casually using the phone until it randomly turned off. I turned it back on and the only thing that happened was the "Galaxy SIII" screen flashed and turned off again. I popped out the battery multiple times to be welcomed with the same problem again. I can't boot into Download or Recovery at all. Anyone know how to fix this? (btw im on AT&T SGH-i747)

Please don't provide false or miss leading information.
To OP. Fully charge your battery or use another one if its corrupt.
Try booting up into both recovery or download mode using the proper combination.
Use this guide to get your phone fully working again.

In some instance (very rare) your phones hardware can malfunction, but seeing how it still boots up I doubt its that's.
Follow my guide and you should be fine.

What about with it plugged into the charger and try to get to download mode. I thought I bricked my s2, took the battery out but it stayed on. Thought it was possesd bit it was plugged in to USB.
Can't hurt to try.
Definitely recommend download mode with cable plugged in to computer. Are you sure recovery doesn't work while plugged in to power?

Yep. It just loops on the splash screen. I'll try charging it to full and repeating your solutions. (It died off at 80%, very strange). Thanks for your replies though!
Ok guys, seems that my issue isnt the phone being bricked. I left the battery out all night and popped it in the next morning. CM loaded just fine. However after about 10 seconds of it loading, the power menu flashed, i clicked cancel, and then it immediately shut down again, and the usual problem continued. Any thoughts? (btw the phone died at 80% battery the first shut down it had, right now it should have been nearly 100% after charging) Also, connecting it via USB doesn't help at all. Sometimes the blue recovery words flash when i try to boot into recovery, but nothing happens after that.

It could be a bad battery. Might also be the battery contact points. Worse case is something is wrong with power channels on the Mobo. If it is the last then you will have to warranty the phone if you're still covered. I would borrow a battery first to rule out whether or not it is the battery itself.

The power button seems to operate normally, but that could also be one of the things that are causing problems. Once i find someone nearby with an S3 battery i'll see if it's actually a battery problem (most likely the case).
I'd thought i'd mention this as well, whenever i pop in the battery, the phone vibrates and tries to turn on, but doesnt actually do it. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? power button maybe, but battery?
If the battery out all night boots past the splash screen maybe you could, if you haven't, leaving it out and first thing try download mode. I've been in bad spots but this pretty crappy. Probably to technical for me but Good luck. Let us know how you do if none of the posts help.
Found the problem. The power button is always acting as if it's being pushed down when it actually isnt. The phone starts up perfectly when i hold the phone horizontally with the power button facing down. then when i put it back into portrait mode, the power menu flashes, and its turns off. any knowledge on how to fix this then?

Warranty it. Mess witht power button some more. Sometimes it will get unstuck.
So my HTC One V suddenly got hanged when I was using it. I pressed power button once instead of holding it so the screen was locked. However when I pressed it again to unlock, nothing happened. Holding down power button doesn't work either to reboot. The low bat orange LED is blinking though but nothing else. In my previous phones I would just take out the battery & put it again but this isn't possible with this phone. Please post any suggestions.
I am using this custom ROM: ShenDuOS-v4.1.2-130607-Primou.
Any urgent response would be most welcome. I am worried about it. I tried taking sim & memory card but it didn't worked to wake up phone. Tried calling my One V from another phone but no avail. Please help!

It didn't work. I had to wait for few hours. When the battery drained off completely it forced to power off. Then I was able to switch my phone on after charging. Still I think there might be some other method to resolve such problem instead of waiting for hours for battery to end.

I saw a suggestion in another thread that supposedly worked. Pull out the Sim card. Not sure why it does
Hi guys,
yesterday I tried to recover the original ROM for Desire HD. During the process in bootloader, my phone shutdown, and I can't turn it on now, even the bootloader wont run. I think my battery was too low, even tought the phone showed 99% (it happened before, even though the battery was almost dead), and it died during the update. Basically, I'm not able to access any feature right now, I'm not sure, if the phone is charging - when I plug it in, the orange light turns on, but when I unplug, the light stays on. Bootloader won't start, but when I press both volume buttons and power button, the phone vibrates 3 times, green light turns on, and thats all.
If you need more info, please ask.
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
You were recovering official ROM from the RUU? This should not result in your device being bricked.
Please try removing the battery for about 10 seconds, then press Vol Dn+Power button and a partial bootloader showing RUU failed or a similar error should open.
Then connect your phone to your PC and again run the Official RUU Setup.
Hit "Thanks" if I helped you. Also click "Donate to me" on the left if u wanna give something in return

Hi, thanks, nothing happens when I push down volume down and power buttons, even after removing batteries. I believe something is actually happening ,but nothing shows on the screen, because when I push volume down and power, and then I plug in the power cable, the orange light does not turn on, while when I plug it in without the combination, it does turn on.
I think that was an official Rom, because I've used it before, and my phone was not rooted afterwards - I did this successfully two times before. However, I recovered it from SD card (pd98img zip copied on the ssd).
Maybe you can try it...just try let the charge is plug in...n leave it be for a hour maybe...don't try to turn on the phone..
After a hour you can try unplug the charge...and remove your battery first...then put it in again...then try power on with pressing volume down+power button..just let see if this time the phone can go to bootloader or not..
Hope this can help..

yeah. I thought about that, but I dont have any desire hd battery here, and I don't know how to charge this one without the phone.
I appear to be having similar problems with it not turning on. when i plug in the charger i get no orange light atall.. if i leave it plugged in (usually within 1hr to 2) eventually it will boot to custom recovery and from there i can reboot the phone and will boot to android. but it does not last very long atall usually about 30mins. have reset battery stats from recovery but doesnt seem to help.
from what i can find online its dieing but can anyone advise on if it will be the battery or the phone itself???
i have just spent $30 fixing digitizer and lcd in the past month. if it is needing a new battery i will proberbly do that but if not it can go..
hope this may help with your problem or any other....

but to solve yours, download one of the apps that tells you how much battery health you have. You might also get a pretty good deal on a new battery from ebay
