Why are some of the Inc dev's leaving XDA?

Ok. So i have been away from the form for a couple of weeks (family emergency) and I noticed that some of the dev's are packing up and going to different forums JoelZ9614, ihtfp69. What did I miss?

I'm kinda wondering that too tbh

devs should just ignore the crap and keep doing what they do.

Stuff like this makes me want to stay with CM even more. CM is my first love for custom ROMs and my favorite so far due to it's speed and features and open source model. Since they packed up quietly it just would make you speculate.
I like looking at the front page of Inc development to see what's new. We'll still be seeing new ROM on xda, just from fewer devs.

They are doing what they do, just decided to do it elsewhere. A few things have happened on xda that ticked a lot of people off.

im staying right here. doesnt matter who leaves, who stays. people need to grow the hell up and grow some thicker skin. this childish behavior HAS to stop for the good of the community. we will implode if all our devs leave. its like a joke to them. were not in third grade anymore guys. grow up, seriously......

thank you. this was the best phone i ever had. one cause of development and two cause of service. now im regretting it for more then one reason.

I thought I would stick with this phone way past my contract because of the development but I might have to second guess that if the developers become too hard to locate . Like they say " There is a beginning to every end "

if i could get my hardware fixed id be okay, but i digress. and i hope it blows over, cause i need someone to learn from!

I liked the way xda had everything in one big forum.

Don't start that flaming crap, just left the 3d and most of the threads are filled with flame this and flame that. Just sick of people talking **** because they don't approve of the location the op might have chose either on purpose or accident. Just saying that this forum is a nice change where you actually get help or learn something by reading the thread instead of following 9 million different arguments over bull.

There is a poll on Facebook facebook . com/questions/217517851641131/, go there and vote, just make sure you scroll down to epic touch 4g , because most people see galaxy s2 at the top and choose it

Okay... Look... This is a bad ass phone. But what make this a DA **** is Dev's and we don't have that yet, but it's coming... The phone is still new so PEOPLE JUST CHILL-LAX....... ITS COMING PEOPLE, ITS COMING!

Perhaps it does belong in the general but i chose to put it in the section i thought would get the most dev attention.

What they said, great things are going to happen in no time, we have a great phone, its going to be barely 3 weeks old.

Agreed, I always thought his posts were so similar but avoided passing judgment without knowing, but that screenshot proves it. It wouldn't be so bad if he would just own up to it instead of lying.

No one here wants him to quit developing.. But we want him test his roms himself and only build them if he owns the device.. And I'm sure the Devs here would appreciate it if he wouldn't pull things out of their roms and use it without permission

Speak for yourself. I'd love it if our dev section didn't have any garbage that bricks peoples phones. This guy's been on a roll for a while. Honestly I'd love it if he'd stop dev'ing it'd save people a lot of time.

+ a googleplex, this guy wants recognition without putting in work or recognizing anybody else's. He needs to stop pestering us and go get some psychological help.

So anyone know what happened to his "illusuon" ROM post? I was waiting for a mod but went to bed and when I woke up it was gone. I'm guessing he deleted it to avoid the ban hammer that was coming.

First of all this is a project im looking for any help to get our devices to boot sense please refrain for telling me it is not possible that i sould have gotten an htc phone if i wanted sense. I wanna live in the xda way and develop for our phones which have better internal specs then the htc phones for our carrier. Also i would like to see our phones run diffident flavors of android. Please don't tell me its not possible i have a ics rom port in alpha already i've gotten to the boot animation and it locks up i have both the logcat and rom to prove it. Im looking for help within my forum to get it running.

So, what exactly do you need?

Any help im a complete noob on how to develop im learning as i go along see if someone can kinda help me kinda understand the logcat im honestly surprised ive gotten to this point.

Have you look the sense4all projet? There is already a rom working for the internationnal GS3 (SO DON'T FLASH THIS ROM). Maybe you can try to port that one.
Also our phone have the same processor than the canadian HTC One X, maybe you can go in that direction.

Actually that is what i was waiting for. Then i got impatient so i thought to try my luck im actually using the att one x as a base same proccesor

If youre a "complete noob" as you stated, might not be the best idea to start with a project like this...just saying

I'm sure Thomas Edison got some good laughs when talking about the light bulb too. You don't know him or know what he's capable of; nor will you ever find out with this attitude. I envy his will to learn, and to take on a big challenge like this. I don't envy, I even despise attitudes like this that try to put people down who are attempting to do great things. To OP: even if you do fail at this, with the attitude you have, you will do great things.

One has gotta start somewhere, I started with ports.
To OP, try porting AOSP/AOKP ROMs from a similar device (like the other SGS3 variants). Those are way easier to port and will give you a chance to learn the basics.

In the same way guys... There's a learning curve. It could have been approached differently. But speaking from the position as he stated that he is completely new to this... If I was a sherpa and someone who had spent their life on a couch says they're interested in rock climbing, I'm not going to say, 'awesome, next week when your equipment arrives go to mount Everest and have fun!' There are ways to train and become better at things. Would suggestions have been better than simply stating that it'd not go well... Yes. And coming here to help where there are experienced devs is good hopefully their guidance will be enough to get him on the right track with this project and if not maybe he can start out smaller and build to this project.

I mean lets be realistic has sense ever been ported completly stable to a non htc device before? Dont go swimming in deep waters if you dont know how to, start off shallow then work your way up.
Being real about the situation might seem harsh but it is what it is......but if he does have some sort of coding skills than by all means do whatever

Today ubuntu has released some dev builds for the Nexii(?) and I'm hoping some dev's will pick it up and learn how to apply it to us

we think for the developers, we are not saying anyone to stop eating and keep develop the rom until it finish, We people also have heart, they can port it when the feel comfortable and without burden . if i would be a developer i would like to port but unfortunately I'am a first year engineering guy (CSE) so please if you can't do something good don't do some bad !

I dont think GUImess forced anyone to build this ROM, nor did he make anyone "stop eating and dev over it". He just made a post saying that Ubuntu Developer version is released just to let everyone know about it, and seriously i don't find anything wrong with that.
