Derp i figured it out now, i got the games i wanted to work.
sorry for the dumb questions lol
I've heard most people have better luck using Gederom to play certain games that would otherwise be unavailable for the kindle.

Sure, stock is the best since all games running on it. ICS from gede also not bad, my meaning the games which runing on it just play smooth than on stock ROM but some GAMELOFT games crashed, Modern Combat 3 play very well, better than on stock.

Do you know if there is a difference between gede having the Galaxy Nexus as the build.prop compared to say like Hashcode's build.prop saying Kindle Fire?
If there is a difference then im so going to gedes rom
I should recommend you this ICS rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619550
Why is it better than any other rom for gaming?
Well first of all I am using it myself. Don't have any problems.
Second, as you can see, there is a line in the thread:
Modified build.prop
Most Gameloft games working
Decreased powerconsumption
Gameloft games usually don't run on Kindle Fire. With that rom they do. I installed and played my self Real football 2012. Works like a charm!
And the last thing is that you can remove the status bar while playing or watching videos! Full screen enjoyment at its best. If you`ll install this rom, just hold the power button for like sec or 2, a window will pop up and on the down side you`ll see show/hide status bar.
I hope this helps you, since I use it myself
Also: If you haven't rooted/rotted a while ago update everything with this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
You will have latest root, FireFireFire 1.4 and TWRP installed. This way it will be easier to do stuff.
If any questions: PM me, will be glad to help!
Good luck!
EDIT: If you want also use the Hashcode's kernel. Kinda like it more than ged preintstalled kernel

I'm all about the coolest looking ROMs.lol. I'd like to stick with 2.2 because I still use the original PSX4Droid.. It's the only ****ing one I could find that works extremely well. Plus it's the only one with support for UP+LEFT, DOWN+RIGHT.. etc. At least from what I know. I haven't checked in several months, so if I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know. I can't understand why PSX4Droid worked SO well until he made a new version..and completely ****ed it up.. Makes no sense to me..
Oh ****, ANYWAY. I'm using Viper 5.0 at the moment, but lately I've been having major issues with it. It worked fantastic for quite a while, but now 90% of my apps force close, every other time someone calls and I answer it, it will lag for a few seconds, then I won't be able to hear anything they say until I completely restart my phone. After like the third time I open it, Maps will say there is no data connection, even though there is.. So I have to re-download it.. Makes me sad because I really like the ROM and would like to keep it.. But I can't stand these issues anymore. I just downloaded the NEW Viper Rom. But I thought I'd ask you guys if there is a better, more stable one.. I have used CM7 in the past, and I think I used CM9.. but once again, after a while the bugs start kicking in and drive me insane.. Not to mention when you're on a call and receive a text message your face vibrates..lol. That drove me nuts.
So... if anyone kept reading this.. Thank you first of all.lol. But what are your suggestions? I REALLY wanted to try ICS, but there is no visual voicemail That's a dealbreaker.. I barely check my voicemails as it is WITH it..lol. But if there are any newer roms, with amazing working PS1 emulators (I play a LOT of FF7), please let me know! Thanks guys!!
The Visual Voicemail is working on all ICS ROMs. They took the one from the Epic Touch ICS. If you are looking for the most customizeable options for appearance try AOKP B29.

Lulz this is my help all day long.. I love to play emulators on my phone. I use cm9 and run with the samurai kernel it has a fps uncap to 72hz and runs at 65fps =]. Overclocks to 1.5ghz stable and not warm. I play zelda on n64oid... with my playstation 3 control with sixaxis controller app off the market. I use fpse for playstation one and it runs amazingly smooth.. haven't tried any rpg games on it but crash and tekken run pretty slick at 1.5ghz. If your a gamer then the samurai kernel is a must.. but he makes em for all types of roms. Touchwiz el30 bml or mtd. Cm7,miui gb and v4 and cm9. Hope this helps.. oh and with fpse you'll need a ps bios if you don't already have one otherwise it won't work but I had mine setup and every game I downloaded played great. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys!!! I really appreciate it. If Visual Voicemail is working now, I'm totally gonna give that a try first... Just to check it out. Then I'll flash another one. I don't play the PS1 too much anymore since I played FF7 for HOURS, then lost my SD card (((( I've been too upset to start again.lol.
But really, thanks guys!!
Many of Gameloft games closes on ICS/JB roms,,mostly due to some problem in multitouch..i found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443949 where some tweaks have been done to the zoom to make the games working.can these be done to the epic too??
What games?
I have quite a few running on my Epic with CM9 RC2 with no issues, such as Asphalt 7, Asphalt 6, UNO, and N.O.V.A. 2 - Near Orbit…
I did not do any special configuration to get them to work.

Maybe a bit off the subject, but I had GTAIII on my HTC EVO4G (unrooted) and I loved it.
Now, I have the Epic 4G (rooted) and I have the game purchased on the market but of course it isnt compatible.

I run GTA3 on my Epic all the time, luv'n the save game with a Tank!
I do tone down the details and OC a bit, but it does startup and run with no issue.
Also run Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation and Backstab with no issues
In general, I have no issues with Gameloft games, so I would guess this is just an issue with games Gameloft has not bothered to update for ICS, which kinda sucks for those that paid for them.

1) Watch where you're posting. I know there might not be a separate forum for Micromax A89 (and there will not be!) but anyway one can always go to Android General/Apps and similar sections for this kind of problems.
2) As for what you mentioned, yes I'm experiencing the same with an older version of Asphalt 6, only that it exits ONLY WHEN I do a multi-touch action. The problem exists across Android 4.x. I don't care about that game so I deleted it for all my Android 4.x ROMs. Best bet for you is to see if the game you're playing has any recent upgrade. But then again, if you happen to be playing Asphalt 5 or even older games... Time to move on to better games and a better phone!

Hello. Is anyone else having issues with Yongzh's emulators (snesoid, gameboid...) when running them in ICS?
I get slightly poor performance and sound issues that don't manifest themselves when using Gingerbread. The same happens in Android 4.0 and 4.0.4. I've tried different ROMs too and I even tried overclocking the CPU to 1.5 GHz. Nothing helps.
I'm looking either for a fix or for some nice alternatives (some other emulators work nicely, but they're not as good).
What are you using since switching to ICS?
No kidding. That's one of the reasons the ICS update was dropped, it killed performance.
So if I read this post correctly, I guess its answering my other thread.. that I guess Yongzh's emulators are no good anymore and we should buy a new emulator off the market?

I don't know about not being good, they're still my favorite, but they perform badly in ICS for some reason and they're actually one of the main reasons I can't decide whether I want ICS or GB.
Glad I came across this thread tho.. didnt even know they had issues in ICS.. Maybe I will have to buy a newer version emulator, unless anyone knows if he is still updating for ics on slideme wasnt it?
Hey, I'd like to know if this is ROM specific. Perhaps the emulators might work smoothly in some ROMs that I haven't tried. Please post your experiences. I'd mostly like to hear about CM9 (I haven't tried it yet).
I tried Tiger Arcade and Tiger Genesis and they both work like a charm in ICS. Consider this emulators as an option.

that's easy , just use MD.emu , BGA.emu ... all of them are running smoothly on ICS .
UPDATED:
As of right now I still have yet to add a custom rom. I was wondering since a little bit of time passed and priorities have changes slightly, which current rom (running ICS or JB for Kindle Fire) is the fastest (or smoothest running) while maintaining a decent battery life.
Current Wish List:
- ICS or JB (I have JB on my Razr M so I don't necessarily need it. Whichever performs best with the below wish list works for me.)
- Maintains closest to stock battery life
- No problems playing Netflix or the like (I understand the Amazon Instant Video app won't work)
- Smooth and fast. (Doesn't need to be the fastest as battery life will win out on this for me)
When I choose one to finally use, are there good step by step guides I can follow for installing a custom rom? Rooting couldn't have been simpler, but I'm aware that installing a custom rom is a little more work.
ORIGINAL:
So I rooted my Fire a couple months ago now and am happy I did so. However I have grown more interested in possibly installing a custom ROM and noticed that the options are plentiful. I have bookmarked plenty of possibilities including CM7 and gedeROM. But I have been increasingly interested in possibly upgrading to a Jellybean ROM. Being somewhat uninformed as to what it is that I am looking for exactly here are some of the things that I would like if possible in a Custom Rom and maybe someone can direct me as to which one may work the best for my needs:
- Stability. I don't know if there is a pretty stable Jellybean ROM currently. But things like being able to rotate the screen and just general Android functions present.
- No charging problems. (For some reason my stock Fire cord no longer charges my Kindle.. yet it still charges my cellphone. Now using a blackberry playbook charger for the Fire that works great and is considerably longer than the stock Fire cord.)
- No problems playing Netflix. Video and entertainment are top priorities.
- Possibly a deal breaker. Would really like to be able to play Amazon Prime videos. I'm able to play them rooted through the use of RootKeeper currently, but have my doubts if RootKeeper would work as it does now, with a custom rom.
- Would love to be able to use Photoshop Touch, but from what I have read this probably isn't possible with a Kindle Fire
- I realize battery life may not be what it is right now, but I would like a semi-decent battery life if at all possible.
There may be some other things I'd like that I can't think of right now but those are some of the ones that I have kept in my mind. I may not even really need Jellybean and there may be an option that makes more sense for me right now, but it would just be nice to be running on the most updated Android version and wouldn't mind some of it's features like Chrome. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just shopping around!

I had a similar question and just reread my own thread and someone had mentioned dual booting. Is this something that is easy and viable? Or is it something more for the more advanced users?
Dual booting is advanced.
Dual-booting meaning able to run Amazon's native rom as well as a custom rom? If that was possible and allowed me to keep access to the Amazon Instant Video app, then I would go for it.

Hi there,
I don't know, if it's my imagination, but I think the tegra3 is not powerful enough to play games like "Need for Speed" or "Shadowgun THD". While playing I'm experiencing fps-drops and laggy tracking shots in cutscenes. I've also tested the gaming boost app, which changed nothing in my opinion.
When I look at a friend's Nexus4, everything is buttery smooth. But: 1080p playback with BS-Player also works smooth as hell on my HOX (with MHL to my TV too). So I think, it's a little bit strange, that I can't play properly.
Someone also encountering this gaming-issue or is it just me?
Well the problem is sense is very heavy requires more ram and htc stock kernel doesn't make the most of the phone so if you want to take most out of your phone flash an aosp rom with ncx kernel repacked for it
Sent from my HTC One X using ViperX 3.2.4
Thanks for your answer. But I would miss sense a lot. So is there any chance of a + in performance with a sense rom?
If you are on stock there is not much I can suggest for you to do. With certain games like need for speed, modern combat etc. it is up to the game developer to optimise it for the device. Unfortunately with some of them like Gameloft there games are not properly optimised for the one x.
If you are rooted and on a custom rom though, there are other possibilities. You can go for a non sense rom like Cyanogenmod, stripped down versions of sense like Renovate, or there are even mods which speed up the device like Renovate gaming boost.

Yes, it could definitely improve it if it has this issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971852
Try it, and let me know if there's any difference. Sounds like this might be an issue. The zip only cleans the free space and makes it writable again. Over time it becomes unusable, fstrim repairs it. Doesn't do any harm.
It may be another problem, but this is likely.
