Does anyone know where the microphone gain value is stored in the registry???
The earpiece speaker in my Desire has started buzzing and I'm looking to replace it. There are plenty available on-line but I'm struggling to find a guide before I start.
Has anyone done this? How easy is it, and will I need any soldering or are they just push fit?
Thanks in advance.

Much appreciated.
did it work?
Hi,
just wondered if you were able to change the ear piece and if so, did it fix the buzzing sound?
The reason I ask is because I have a similar problem
thanks
I have a problem too. When i call or receive a call i cannot hear unless i use the speakers or the headset. And i wonder if that ever happend to anyone and if that could fix the issue. Thanks in advance to whoever takes the time to reply
ok so the loudspeaker is absolutely terrible.
The only reason i want to install a new ROM is to improve the loudspeaker, if its even possible.
anyone got any thoughts on this? can anyone recommend a ROM to improve the loudspeaker on the galaxy nexus?
Check here if this mod can help
you should get the phone fixed. a rom isnt going to repair or change a speaker.
So during a phone call if i push speakerphone i can hear the person on the other side but they can't hear me, if i switch back to regular mode they can hear me again.
anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?
running Wind 3.5 and the rom in my sig v7.
i'm not sure if there are two mics in this phone but i don't think so.
i have read that noise cancellation can cause this issue but i can't find any settings for it, any help would be greatly appreciated.
any suggestions at all? i'm using wind kernel should i try reverting to stock? does anyone know what handles speaker/mic functions? rom or kernel or both?
i tried flashing an older version of wind kernel no luck, i'm hesitant to flash back to stock rom tho...
nobody has any suggestions?

i just dont use speakerphone, i considered it to be a hardware issue but not 100% sure
V500's microphone gain is way to low. It cannot even use it well with Skype or any other communication app. Does anyone know any remedy?
