Do you think that it would be easier to navigate the forums better if we could have a tegra forum and a s4 forum at least in development section. What does everyone think.
If I'm not mistaken, AT&T HTC One X (S4) = HTC One XL, and there's a forum for that already.

The kernel, radio, GPU and drivers, and SoC are different. Other than looking the same they have little in common.

Thinking that the Development forum should be split into two
One for CDMA/LTE
One for GSM
Seems like that would solve the confusion and prevent potential bricks.

I have to agree, it's quite painful to browse to find the correct version of things for the phone you have.

I thought maybe I was a noob and didn't understand why they weren't splitting the forums. It seems like some GSM mods/roms/kernels work on the LTE, so you really have to go through trial and error to see what works?
Splitting would be far the easiest, though, unless developers have to maintain double the amount of threads which could be a pain.

If it's going to be split, it needs to happen sooner rather than later, just because of people posting threads that accommodate both as time goes on.

I agree too, but..... this isn't development and should be in General

Coming from the Nexus S forums...their's is split between the 4G and the GSM version and that makes it extremely helpful...please mod-overloards...SPLIT THIS FORUM LIKE MOSES SPLIT THE SEA
i agree too but the only problem is that a few things work for both cdma and gsm.

I use to have the incredible and incredible 2 and it was frequent to have roms made from the evo and other htc devices... doesn't mean I go to the evo forum for the rom. Even though you are right, the positives far out weigh the negatives here none the less.
Please do!

I'd have to agree. And as for things that work on both, the author can post in both sections. That way they can field questions separately between the two, instead of having people with different devices posting in the same thread. Surprised this hasn't been done already.
Rabble rabble rabble.
Agreed! It could definitely clear up some confusion, even though I assume most members here are pretty smart.
I don't agree. What to do with general development threads, radio independent mods, etc?
Why not just "tag" the threads with [GSM] and [LTE] (like some devs already do).

? I don't get your point. There are no general development threads. Every mod is made for a specific model, they're not both compatible.
Radios are not cross-compatible. LTE radios only work with LTE. GSM .. same thing.
[GSM] and [LTE] are too disorganized. With two forums it makes things more organized and eliminates the chance of flashing something for the LTE when you have GSM (and vice versa).
Also, this is the wrong forum to be posting this. There are two other threads about this, we don't need another one.

Why are we not getting any admin response to what majority of the community wants? What are the pros on cons? I'm no pro but maybe the admins know why there isn't one yet..
This is message to a mod asking for two Dev forums. One for GSM and one for CDMA. Do you want or not want this to happen? Give me your opinions...

Hello. I need to ask you of a favor
I believe you are the moderater of the HTC Wildfire S forums. Could I ask you to split the development forums into two sections like the nexus s' - GSM and cdma. this would help rom builders a lot.

Since most of the posts here relate to GSM Nexus, is there a forum for us CDMA owners? ive been searching for it and cant find one.

Huh? I wouldn't say a majority are related to the GSM Nexus...
Although some may think it'd help, it'd probably do more harm than good considering a LOT of the topics overlap between the 2, and model-specific threads are indicated in the title or 1st post. It keeps us from getting duplicate posts that would certainly crop up in separate General sections, and it gets more eyes on threads.
The Dev sections are separate, that's the only thing that matters.

Yep, this forum is for CDMA and GSM Nexii alike.
If you post a thread though, just be sure to clarify which Nexus you're referring to.
The only difference between the CDMA n GSM are
Different radios (CDMA has a LTE Radio), size, and one is exclusive to only one carrier (till sprint releases theirs )
Other than that its the same phone n 90% if the issues will be mutual

+1. Alternatively give all the relevant details in your signature so that you don't have to repeat the stuff in each post.
There is a dedicated Development forum but, here, we can all be brothers.
I just got the htc one x, and see that there are 2 development sections for it (one x android development and one x original android development). Which sections should I download the roms from ? I'm using AT&T htc one x btw. Thanks in advance guys and sorry for the noob question.

This forum is for the International One X, go to the AT&T forums. You might brick your phone if you use stuff from here.
So..it's time for me to sell off my HOX and i'll probably be getting myself an Xperia SP..i just want to thank the awesome devs here for the support around here. Using this phone was a delight because of you guys..stock sucked but thanks to the epic custom roms and kernels, this phone could be turned into a beast! So let this thread, be one where everyone can thank the devs and the xda people for their time, their patience and their commendable effort..i'll miss this forum. It was a part of my daily life and well, i might still just check things here sometimes because i really cannot forget you guys.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH PEOPLE

General section
What does not go here (by far an uncomplete list, just some examples for topics that are not tolerated)
Everything prohibited by above linked forum rules.
"Whis is the best rom for this device", "Is this rom better than that" (always subjective, prone to fanboy wars)
Device comparison threads (see above)
"What was your last phone/will be your next phone" (Off-Topic to this phone, post that in OT-Forum)
"Hello"/"Goodbye"/"Merry Christmas,Easter,Hannukkah, whatever" (Obviously OT, just imagine every user posts that)
"I'll never buy HTC again", "Why HTC/Samsung/whoever sucks" and all other "hate"-threads (Tell that those guys, not us)
"Help!", "How do I...", "Why..." and all other Questions (belong in Q&A)
