Hello everyone,
i would like to switch my Desire HD back to the delivery status. (No Root, S-on ...) because i want to give it to my girlfriend and she doesn´t need the special software.
I think i found a why to do the reset ( only in German:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/anleitu...sicherung-s-off-fuer-das-dhd.html#post1197635 )
My question is now: if i reset all, will i be able to make automaticle updates from htc? because i heard about a new update (i think sense4.0 and anroid 4.0) coming sone for DHD.
I hope someone can give me an answer or tell me how it would work
Thanks
Honestly there is no reason to go back fully son. I would just flash the 3.12.405 ruu. You will still get the ics update whenever it shows up.
But if you want son use the ace hack kits bact to stock option- though again not needed unless for warranty purposes

If there will be an ICS upgrade how could I upgrade to it without loosing root?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA
Yep! i also want to roll back to original ROM , but i dont want to loose root.
So know i want to know if it is possible ?
Regards,
Sandeep Singh
You can try ota rootkeeper from android market. It makes a backup from of the Su binary so you can restore root after ota(when and if ICS come to Desire HD).

Sup guys. I need help with rooting my HTC Desire HD, i want to use Unrevoken but i have a problem: in the compitable list it says htc desire not htc desire hd, does the hdh also counts as a desire? Thx guys and sorry for my bad english
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Hi xOMG. I am not sure about Unrevoken, but as far as I know, the Desire HD actually can be rooted using VISIONary+ app.
The app has been removed in the Market. But you can go to this site and download the apk file for installation. http://android.modaco.com/content/software/320350/19-nov-r14-visionary-one-click-root/
You may consider downloading any file explorer from the market so that you can install the apk file. Read the steps carefully before you use VISIONary+. Do it at your own risks. Lol.
EDIT: Oh by the way, your English is not bad and its perfectly understandable. Really.
Cheers. =)
I tried V+ but it "Crashes" after the black screen, had to wait more then a minute, is that okay? Should i try it again?

I am at version number 1.8....
I need to downgrade to root. I was always of the understanding that my device was already rooted I have s-off and i just checked in bootloader.
I just want to know what is the best way to back up my data before hand?
So once i am rooted i can put it straight back on?
Yes. You have to have build number below 1.72xxxxxx in order you to use VISIONary+ to root your device. Else the rooting process will not work. I have my build number 1.32xxxxxx when I first bought my Desire HD. So it means I do not need to do any downgrading.
Pauly_k, in the first place, what are you planning to back-up? The stock ROM? If you are planning to switch to other ROMs, the app ROM Manager from the market, can be used as a tool to switch ROMs and also back-up ROMs. If apps and everything I would recommend Titanum Back-Up app.
When you do a Radio S-OFF and/or ENG S-OFF exercise, you do not need to on and off it back everytime. You can just leave it OFF all the time. It will not affect your device in everything e.g. performance. OFFing it allow you to gain full access into other area in your device such as to flash new radios.
Unless you wish you send back your device to HTC for say, warranty purpose, then yes of course you have to ON it back. Lol.
Cheers.
Last night, I bought a new HTC Desire Z. After that, I received a notification said that there's a software update, its version is 1.75. So I updated is through wifi and now it's running version 1.75. I've read around and some people say that I must have version 1.34 or 1.72 If I want to get root.
I really want to get rood and install recovery to upgrade to custom roms. Anybody help me how to downgrade or the new way to get root on my phone?
Thanks all for reading.
Could you go to about phone and see if your running Android 2.3.3?

Hello guys
My friends DHD had mainboard changed (warranty) but now he is not able to receive even gingerbread update. so the guy has to stick with Froyo for now. He does not want to get root just the the regular updates
At software menu it says that phone is up to date haha
Any suggestions?
is it possible to force an update? (if it is not getting gingerbread so I doubt that he gets ICS later on)
Regards

What is your friends firmware version? Not android version, but the HTC Firmware.
Should look something like. x.xx.xxx.x - e.g. 1.32.405.6
Software version 2.50.405.2
Kernel 2.6.35.10
Baseband 12.54.60.25U_24.09.04.11
Hope will do any help
Anyhow the question is if (even phone is rooted) it is possible to apply updates without changing ROM?
I have rooted my phone and already tried a bunch of ROMs (currently using Revolution HD 6.3.1) but thats not for my friend. As she wants to have regular HTC rom and get updated version of software.
thanks again
If your looking for a fairly clean rom try leedroids he only works with official releases...there's a list in the Dec section of purely stock Roms bit just rooted I'd go there..If its a lady I'd try the bliss Roms they were designed for the woman apparently lol

thanks arknailed7754 for your post
though my main question still remains if it is possible to force update to original rom. (rooting is not a problem)
regards
Froyo was 2.2..gingerbread started at 2.3 so he's over the original release..I think you can apply the update through adb..with an official ruu. I'm not as knowledgeable as some on here but that's how you can push the phone to the new update..the official are also in Dec section..there's probably a guide in there if you need help applying, surprised he can update though HTC released the official sense 3.0 etc last year q4.
As I said I might be talking out of my ass but go to Do a search in Google with your keywords its in there..

If your unrooted & don't want root, just want to update to the latest firmware then download the RUU in this post -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22871910&postcount=33
Before you run it, make sure you've got HTC Sync installed (for the USB drivers).
Your current firmware is a WWE x.xx.405.x and matches that of the update posted 3.12.405.1. You should update with no issues. It will however wipe your device, so make sure you backup what you can before you run the RUU.
Thanks for your help.
Will try as soon as get my hends on friends phone.
Will post results.
Thanks again

I had the same problem with my DHD. Whenever I connected to WiFi, I never got the update. What I did was when I connected my DHD to PC, I selected "Internet Passthrough". And voila, I got a message a few minutes later that an update to Gingerbread is available. Try this and I hope this will resolve the problem.
is this even possible anymore?
Im hoping to sell on my HTC desire HD As i have just acquired an ARC S, so i want to UN-everything (unroot etc)
HOW??? the guides that are left are all too old and have broken links? and an RUU i tried doesnt want to connect
currently the phone is running blakcice CM7 so maybe i need to go to a sence rom first???
Don't you have a NAND backup from when you first flashed?
Use the hack kit. It has a return to stock option

Hey guys...
Last week I bought a second hand( used in good condition) Desire HD, which also has a warranty of local HTC dealer. When I had received it, I realized that ROM( probably Basedand and Kernel) has changed also. Even everything works good, I'm wondering is there a way to change back everything to stock, so I can achieve warranty if it's needed.
Also I found SuperUser Icon in menu, so It means that phone is rooted.
I don't know how phone is rooted, so I can unroot it.
Sorry If I sound like noob(cause I am first time on Android phone, I've used Symbian and WM before). I'm trying to adopt in Android world, but this for warranty really concerns me.
Thanks in advance
P.S. I've received phone with this on it:
Android Version
2.3.3
Baseband version
12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel version
2.6.35.13-Buzz_2.2.1_OC+g2ad4ce3

theres definitly a way to unroot your phone, but its not as easy as rooting it as i was rooting my phone bout 6monthes ago i found a how to unroot ur dhd, but dont remember where i found it. ther stock roms (original) u can find in dhd section here on xda
as long as u dont need to unroot it, i would prefer u flashing a more actual rom or update yours. just take a look in dhd android dev forum. im sure u will find something for u
here a link to the newest version of ur current rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
Thanks....
I couldn't find any original ROM here
And If I just flash the original, will everything back to original(will root remain) or...?
Can anyone even help to find out how the phone was rooted...?

There are tons and tons of custom ROMs in the development forum. They start with [ROM]. If you flash the original stock as a ROM, it will retain root.

What does HBOOT say? Boot while holding power and volume down.
Make sure you switch off, remove and insert battery, then hold volume down and power!

Advanced ace hack kit (AAHK), is the simplest way to achieve root, although it's not quite one click and you wont find it on XDA although googling it will bring up links for you.
