[Q] The first thing I did when I got my ET4G was...

...install launcher pro and not look back.

I've got it downloaded and almost ready o switch, but I wanted to at least give cheezwhiz a chance first. Not loving it, but the phone is awesome.

I have never seen it run smoother in my life. Holy crap.
To be fair Touchwiz is, well, cheezy as hell...but...I like it more than Sense, which I also hate. It's more stock-like than sense and nowhere near as fat....too ugly looking though.

I like Touchwiz (I'm also a big fan of MIUI). Even if it's a rip-off of iPhone, it's still Android we all love.

I have everything set up to my standards and am just trying out touchwiz. The folders help now. I just hope we get the ability to do a little more. I am just letting it charge now.

I come from the touchpro2 and good god, holy crap this is totaly rocking. All I can do is just play with it.

Yeah it was, I sold that damn phone within the first month of owning it, ended up buying the EVO 4G, what an upgrade lol.

Look for a way to get into a developer group so we can get this thing rooted and make it usable. I'm way to use to having a rooted device.

i know touchwiz 4.0 or at least i think i do, is hardware accelerated so i think if you install a third party launcher you lose some of it.

Perhaps LP uses those same hooks (I though it was all UI elements via the existing UI API). Launcher pro is so smooth that I don't even care if it isn't accelerated (which I think it is).

what bro how could u say that touch pro 2 is an amazing phone of its time ok. but the galaxy s 2 epic touch 4g does destroy it completely i wont disagree there.

Popped in my 16GB SD card, installed ADW Pro Launcher and Handcent. This phone is crazy fast.

Came from an Epic 4g, and this is my first all touch phone. I'll say with the giant screen size, my sausage fingers do quite well and rarely make a mistake. First thing I did though was pop in a 16gb card I had floating around, reinstall most of my apps, and then set it up how I wanted it. I actually don't mind Touchwiz 4.0 at all.

can you please tell us about how it feels in the hand, what the screen really is like, battery and wifi performance etc.

Im interested to see if faceunlock burns any noticable battery. Turning the camera on/off so much might take up some battery life

hmmm not yet...i have played on track so far though and my current thoughts are that the Nexus speaker is extremely quiet compared to the S2....also is anyone any good with facebook integration? it seems totally broken on this nexus...it may just be because of pre release software though

That's a damn shame. I'm coming from the HTC Sensation, for which the speaker volume is decidedly anemic. This better not be a trend amongst phones :\
I wish I could be of service in terms of Facebook integration. I'm assuming you mean integration with your Contacts and stuff? Aside from removing/re-adding it in the Accounts & Sync settings, I'm not sure what options you have.

Not really until the dev calibrates Quadrant for ICS (it might just start a lot of unnecessary rioting)

Errrrm Screen seems really nice...but coming from an S2 doesnt really seem that much of a step up. I do like it though. Feels lovely in the hand...and wifi seems good and stable. No idea on battery yet. will keep you posted

Is it better or worse than the SGSII?
As far as a know the headphones on the SGSII isn't the best and I listen to a lot of music commuting so don't want to spoil my experience

i had motorola atrix before...as u know the device is using pentile matrix
also Galaxy Nexus is using pentile matrix.
atrix display is getting pixelated upon a closer look ...grainy or any thing u call it..
does GN have the same problem when u look at the screen?

Hmmm what kind of earphones are you using? I only ask because I left my "top end" sennheiser earphones at work....so I decided to try the samsung pair that came with my Galaxy Note, my sennheisers just got totally blown away they're that good.
Anyway in answer to your question output is louder on the Galaxy S2....but sound quality on them both is very similar hope this helps

my galaxy s2(I9100G variant) was stolen and I'm thinking about getting a gnex for the updates and long developer support(there are other stuff I like about gnex but that's my main reason for getting it) but one thing is holding me back,the camera(also the lack of sd card slot but I can give that away if it's worth it).My phone is usually my main camera,I got a kodak digital camera but I use it in special events only.I mainly take pics with friends for uploading on social networks and stuff like that.So I wanted to know your thoughts on the camera,also would be nice to get some feedbacks from people who switched from S2 to gnex.Thanks in forward

The camera isn't that bad, sure its only 5mp compared to the 8mp on the s2 but its not the end of the world, its acceptable imo.

You wouldn't be able to tell the difference in picture quality if you took pictures outside with good lighting.

Hmm what about night out door photos ? like photos with a black sky and maybe a few buildings in the background ?

I believe there's nothing in my thread that's against the rules.And yes I did search before posting and I couldn't find what I'm looking for.

I personally will choose GNex mainly cuz I want Google experience (pure)
If you can get S2 for a really nice price (REALLY NICE), and you want that slightly better camera (GNex isn't bad either btw, night shot is pretty bad though), nobody is stopping you from getting S2.
Bare in mind that S2 is almost dead in both updates and for developers, since S3 came out.

Edit:Btw when I meant night shots,I was talking about taking pics of PEOPLE at night,not landscape pics if that makes any difference(sorry I'm in a noob in photography actually lol)

Which commercial... Graduation party (pool/BBQ/hot girls) or the Graduation ceremony (receiving diplomas)?
I thought that it was cool when the guy was jumping into the pool and the girl snapped pics and it came out all as one picture of him jumping in the pool; also the eraser shot is pretty sick too.

I have the files, DONT Flash the .zip tho, I have never made a flashable zip before, all i do is use root browser and copy the library files into /system/lib/ then install the .apk but I am WAAAAAYYY too noobish to telll you how to do it... Don't think this rom will work on out S3, we are in a Sprint section, that rom seems to be for the Intn'l version

What 4.2 has to do with this flip cover ? To get the incoming call ui we have to get a mod which shows it on top. Nothing to do with 4.2

I already have that ui...I dont know what sort of 4.2 or else you are using...But for me in this ui i need this kind of a cover thats y i crated this post...I always found u thorough out this forum insulting others and having fun with that:silly: u are a jocker that i have nothing n to do with

First of all I was not insulting you , what you think about me I don't care and what you found about me :flipoff2:
First of all it only shows miss calls there , on S4 there is incoming dialogue ui. Upper cutted flip cover will only let you know about the miss calls may be more . But until a mod is out you cannot use.
