I am not sure if it's the camera or gallery I want but what that lady did on the commercial was pretty cool.

Which commercial... Graduation party (pool/BBQ/hot girls) or the Graduation ceremony (receiving diplomas)?
I thought that it was cool when the guy was jumping into the pool and the girl snapped pics and it came out all as one picture of him jumping in the pool; also the eraser shot is pretty sick too.

Don't think this rom will work on out S3, we are in a Sprint section, that rom seems to be for the Intn'l version
All users need to be reminded that odds are bad for you if you flash international version material on US phones. This is typically the standard, and all users take chances if they desire to try something that destroys a 600+dollar piece if equipment.
If you do it - don't cry, and be adult enough to not defraud the carrier or your insurance company if you do, in fact, turn your phone into a fancy paperweight.

So I thought now that we have Instagram, we should get an Instagram pictures thread going.

n00b question. What's so different about instagram from other camera filter apps that already allow you to share with many social networks?

Had this same question. Nothing, it's the social bit that people like I guess. It's twitter for pictures. The expectation is people you follow / follow you are going to get pictures, not witty status updates/tweets. I didn't understand the hype at all, but did install it and can see that it does have a place on my app drawer.

I want this on my nexus galaxy.
Too bad it's on Gingerbread. Porting this over seems like a step backwards.
Maybe if they actually upgrade it to ICS...
But the 3d launcher is just too cool.

edit: My result. The google search didnt really fit and the sound bar was way too cramped. Works better on HDPI I guess. I will just have to theme my google search myself.
Google Translate much? Looks very promising and cant wait to try it out unfortunately I'm *Nexusless for the next few days.

Yeah I used Google Translate, and watched the video. The video guides you through it step by step.
My SH-06D has a 720p screen, so the theme looks perfect on it.

Hello,
my galaxy s2(I9100G variant) was stolen and I'm thinking about getting a gnex for the updates and long developer support(there are other stuff I like about gnex but that's my main reason for getting it) but one thing is holding me back, the camera(also the lack of sd card slot but I can give that away if it's worth it).My phone is usually my main camera,I got a kodak digital camera but I use it in special events only.I mainly take pics with friends for uploading on social networks and stuff like that.So I wanted to know your thoughts on the camera, also would be nice to get some feedbacks from people who switched from S2 to gnex. Thanks in forward
The camera isn't that bad, sure its only 5mp compared to the 8mp on the s2 but its not the end of the world, its acceptable imo.
You wouldn't be able to tell the difference in picture quality if you took pictures outside with good lighting.

I believe there's nothing in my thread that's against the rules. And yes I did search before posting and I couldn't find what I'm looking for.
I personally will choose GNex mainly cuz I want Google experience (pure)
If you can get S2 for a really nice price (REALLY NICE), and you want that slightly better camera (GNex isn't bad either btw, night shot is pretty bad though), nobody is stopping you from getting S2.
Bare in mind that S2 is almost dead in both updates and for developers, since S3 came out.

Does this help us with our camera driver issues?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/htc-8mp-cameras-by-omnivision-use-universal-drivers/
Our camera is samsung S5K3H1GX 8M
according to /sys/android_camera/sensor
How would one go about doing this?
I'm more than ready for a good camera again. I flashed a gingerbread Rom to compare them and I forgot just how good this phones camera actually is.

Then it doesn't help much. The universal drivers are for omnivision, not Samsung. Although, reading the thread linked in that article, it looks like other devices have the same camera model. Might be able to pull drivers from a different device.
Edit: disregard this, read post below.

changing the drivers of the camera meaning that the omnivison and samsung are interchangeable since they use the same camera drivers and if we port the omnivision it means a fully working camera on ics for us

Has any of the Dev's tried this?
If so, is it just for Sense ROM's or can it be used for AOSP ROM's also?
Would be nice to have some progression on the camera for sure. It always seems like the lynchpin for me switching. Kind of sad when I have a perfectly nice camera to use, but it's not something I carry all the time. I just want to be sure I have a working camera at all times, just in case I can get that irrefutable proof of extra-terrestrials. Can't afford a force close in that kind of situation lol.

I'm coming from the Evo 3d. The S2 came out a little while after the 3d did so i was already stuck. I wasn't disappointed because i loved my 3vo. It was a great phone. Dual core and all. The screen on this new phone is just insane though. Watching 1080p movies and the way the colors just pop is unlike any mobile screen i've seen. I love the NFC too and how you can link nfc stickers to tasker profiles. i know you could do this with the s2 as well but its new to me. Theres just a bunch of little things ya know?
