From a computer or your phone?
Phone....I came from the evo 3d and was able to download any rom off xda on my phone without it failing just seeing what I'm doing wrong g on this one lol

Try download all app from Google Play.
Is your internal memory full? Happened to me before, after I filled my phone up with music. And it wouldn't even tell me memory is full, it just failed downloads. Moved/deleted some files and downloads worked fine after.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Did you buy a used phone? Might be an internal hardware issue.
Firefox or Opera are the only two browsers that work to download anything. Plus while downloading do not exit the app.

Its probably the network.. I noticed running on sprints network whe the phone would go into deep sleep the radio would turn off and download would fail.. My suggestion is to try force roaming with another prl and try to download while roaming.. For some reason when im on sprint prl 60687 using sprints 3g data i have to keep screen on until its finished.. While roaming i can throw it on the charger and come back to a finished download. Or get a browser that will allow you to start/stop the download but this way you might get a bad download.. I wish more devs would use torrents since its way easier to download using adownloader

It's because the file type is not compatible with any apps you have. I had the same problem. Download any file explorer from the play store and it'll work

Go into the market and search "Astro". Its a great file explorer and if you go into "Menu"......."Preferences"....and check box that says "Enable Browser Downloads" then reboot. You can now DL anything from any site.

I've actually done research and there are a few that do work. Avast and Zoner work. You can test it with a file from the market. Search for 'Zoner antivirus test' and DL that to test your av app. Its not harmful to your phone, just has a piece of code that is recognized by av software. That will tell you if it works. Personally, I've used both and have found Trojans in apps on the market which are immediately scanned and deleted automatically. So I know they work for me.

Yeah I've used Avast but don't you wish that these so called security programs would scan the apps for unwanted ads instead of trying different 'Ad Blocker' apps that most times don't work anyway lol, I guess the only way is to get rooted (soon) so I can use 'Lucky Patcher' just nervous about rooting even though the 'hereric rooting' thread looks easy enough but I had it easy with HTC/Android phone rooting cuz it's just one click programs and your done with basically '0' chance of bricking

Uncool. Using lucky patcher is, first of all, illegal, second, these devs who give you free apps need to support themselves somehow. So they put ads in their apps. If you're not willing to see a few ads for the functionality of the app, you don't deserve to use it.

I am not talking about ads just in free apps but also 'PAID' apps, which should not be aloud and I do pay for apps and I agree all devs deserve to get the money for their work so if your the first to cast stones do so but not in my glass onion.
Rooting the nitro is a process but its quite simple. As long as you follow the instructions you shouldn't have any problems. Ad free usually takes care of ads on a rooted device, without having to use lucky patcher. You should definitely give it a shot once you root.

A new app popped up in the Play Store to fix the ongoing lag issues. It seems to work on a number of devices including the Nexus 7. It is called LagFix (fstrim) and is a free app. There was a good review on AndroidPolice. You must be rooted to use the app is the only downside. Here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix

I can confirm that this works, wasnt having too much lag just barely a little but still decided to give this a try and I'm noticing a major difference with everything, stuff just feels liquid smooth
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
what lag issues does it fix?
I can confirm that it really helped my GNex. Says it trimmed approx 3gb!? I do know the smooth scrolling came back immediately. I'd like to know what it'll do if I check the "system" box. Gotta research more tho before diving in that.

My N7 is laggy as hell and I really want to try this. The problem is that I never rooted before and will have to wipe my device to root (which I really don't want to do). Is there a way to execute the Trim command via ADB or some other USB debugging method that will not require me to install this app and root my device?
Installed it and ran it. Not sure if it made a difference. Are you supposed to run it just one time or whenever you reboot?

That's a good question I've been wondering that myself and here's a little something I found out while running a rom (2.3.3 Verizon with timescape) that from is from the UK firmware which has the .145 baseband which is also included into the cm7 builds I was looking at the build props of both roms and noticed the base and was the same, so my thoughts were rebasing a cm7 build on that 2.3.3 gingerbread .145 baseband would everything still work? Or would there be to many problems with cm7 sources and stock sources causing it not to load?

isn't the baseband independent from the rom and just the firmware for the modem?
i thought the framework.jar is the problem or what i thought lately that the synaptics touchpad drivers aren't in the cm7 kernel.

Well here's the thing, sorry if I lose anybody here lol.
The touch pads and game pads do work but they don't work (if that makes sense) some games the game pad will work I.e off road legends sonic 1 but like gta series they don't register, I found an app that checks if the touch pads register it shows two yellow squares when you touch the middle "analog sticks" so they work and register but not on every game like sonic for instance the direction pad we can control him the x button makes him jump as well as pressing up on the left touch pad so they are there but not constant if you guys follow what I'm saying

Has someone tried with semc prop values? As for Rockstar Games games (lol) you need these values
Code:
ro.semc.product.model=R800i
ro.semc.product.name=Xperia PLAY
ro.semc.product.device=R800
ro.product.model=R800i
If still they don't get activated, it should be a framework issue, rather than a build.prop one

Lol that line (mod.touchmpad.startfrom1=1) is a custom property that will be ignored by the system unless you implement farenheith's code into the framework (that isn't compatible with pre-Ics frameworks unfortunately).
The only chances we have are those values (and fixing the others of course)

I don't think the part that is used for data/3g is the same as what's used for texting and calls, but I am no expert, if u wanna make free calls get magic jack from the play store, as for texting I know multiple methods, but they aren't exactly native they are just apps, and sometimes you have to pay.
