4g problem with manual 4.0.4 update - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I recently flashed the 4.0.4 leaked update to my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. The zip flashed successfully, but my phone still showed as running 4.0.2 in the about phone section. Worse, now my phone only picks up 3g, which defeats a big reason I got the galaxy nexus.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so, has anyone found any solutions? I've tried flashing my recovery, but the phone remained stuck in 3g. I've tried toggling in and out of LTE/CDMA and just CDMA, battery pulls, flashing to other roms etc. and nothing works. All the other radios still work fine.
Sorry if I'm breaking any protocols, this is my first post.

Update
It seems my 3g is pretty fast now. Also, when I put the phone into cdma only mode, the phone loses 3g signal. Is it possible I'm still receiving 4g, but the phone is just showing it as 3g?
Also, would use a one-click unroot to take the phone back to full stock solve the problem? Kind of like a mass reset?

Not connecting to 3G EVDO, only 1xRTT

Hi, I was hoping someone here may be able to help me out with this problem. Last week I had a weird issue where my GPS signal stopped working, text messages and phone calls weren't coming into the phone. I've since been able to correct that issue with flashing to a clean Sense based ROM, and updating the profile and PRL, but now I can't seem to pickup 3G EVDO signal, only 2G 1xRTT..
My phone is(was) rooted and flashed with Calkulin's EViO 2 v1.77, most current radios. I thought maybe something got messed up, and since 1.8 was out, I flashed to that. Same issue, updated the radio from his package, same thing. Then I thought, ok, maybe something with this rom is messed up(unlikely, but I was grasping at straws at this point), so I flashed to a different rom, think it was sprint lovers.. same thing. Flashed to CM7, same. Unrooted and flashed back to stock, took it into Sprint, which they did a hard reset and told me since it shows the 3G icon in the top bar, it is on 3G and working fine. This is ofcourse bull**** since the Evo shows that 3G icon even if its on 1xRTT signal..Sprint tossing out wrong info, shocking I know. I've used Antennas and OpenSignal apps to show that it is indeed connecting to the 1xRTT signal. Downloading anything on the phone is ofcourse slow too, I've had google maps updating now for about 15 minutes, and it is 5.86MB.
Would anybody have some suggestions of what I can try to get the 3G radio working again?
Anybody have a suggestion of what I could try here? I've changed my PRL to the Verizon one, which gives the same results. Still having the same problem.
ya its calkulin's 1.8. the new extended mobile data menu hack has a messed up default that sets it to evdo only by default, messing up everything else. switching roms doenst help. go back to calk's 1.8 and type in the dialer ##3282# select view only and make sure mode of operation is on automatic.

[Q] Synergy rom stuck in 1x

I just flashed the new synergy rom on my new evo and my phone keeps getting stuck in 1x. Is anyone else having this problem and can anyone tell me how to fix it? I'm pretty new to this, but I'm almost positive that I did everything exactly like I was supposed to when flashing the Synergy rom. There is no reason for my phone to be stuck in 1x with the coverage I have where I live and I did not have this problem with the stock rom. I have tried to look for solutions to this problem on my own. I have updated PRL. I tried to increase 3g speed using the method explained by Avalaunchmod. I have also tried performing a hands free activation. When I restore back to stock rom the problem seems to go away. Tried reflashing synergy and I'm back in 1x. Thanks for any help.
If you ignore the fact that it shows 1x mode, how does the speed compare to how it felt before?
Synergy shows 1x mode, whereas the stock rom doesn't. You may have been 1x before and it just didn't display it.
The speed is definitely slower. If I am able to start a download while it is in 3g, it seems to stay in 3g and download faster. I understand that the speed can fluctuate some but if I am in 1x, the speed seems to be significantly slower and it stays that way.
Maybe my friend's problem being stuck in 1x mode only is due to Sygnergy ROM. I'm going to have him flash another ROM and hopefully that'll fix it.
I've flashed Synergy, Mikg2.2 and Mikg2.3 and with each one I'm only getting 1x. I've tried updating the prl, profile and radios. I even did the whole ##DATA# and changed EVDO to Auto, but the setting always reverts back to CDMA only. Not sure what else I can do.

Ok, weird. Just reflashed Mikg2.3 and updated profile and it gave me 3g... Must have screwed up somewhere.

[Q] 3G Network Extender Problem following OTA JB Update

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, Stock ROM, running 4.0.4 until the OTA upgrade yesterday morning. Prior to this, I had no problem connecting with my 3G Network Extender. Following the JB Update, I can rarely connect to it, and when it does connect, it drops it quite quickly.
I am Stock ROM - haven't had time or motivation to deal with rooting and such, and have been reasonably pleased with the stock ROM's so far.
I have reset the Network Extender by disconnecting from the power source.
I have reset the Phone, by pulling both the Battery and SIM card.
I have set the Network Extender to "Open" status.
I was on PRL 14012 yesterday, and had occasional connection to the Extender.
As of this morning, I went to 14013, and it doesn't seem to connect to it at all.
I use a bunch of Apps, but no Launchers, Dialers, or anything else having a major systemic effect on the phone that I'm aware of.
I have called Verizon Tech Support, who so far haven't added anything to the situation. They are supposed to call me later today for a status update.
They are already talking about a full Hard Reset of the Phone, which doesn't thrill me, as it would require reinstalling/reconfiguring all my Apps and Accounts.
Anyone else have a 3G Network Extender having any issues with the OTA JB update?
Any suggestions on what else I can try to get this working again?
My home has very poor signal, and my phone is almost unusable without the Extender.
Thanks.

LTE driving me insane, lose it after switching to airplane mode.

Hello, I am on a rooted stock Jelly Bean Telus ROM with default recovery (I flashed the rooted stock image through ODIN). Every now and then I will lose LTE even though I am in an LTE area. I try to do the trick of turning on airplane mode and turning it off to get the connection to reset. This actually doesn't do anything. HOWEVER, if I restart the phone, I get LTE back with 20 seconds. Once it restarts it can stay on LTE for a long time. Even when I get a call it'll go to 4G and then switch to LTE once I finish.
But here's the kicker. If after I restart it, get LTE, THEN switch to airplane mode and switch back, it will never, ever connect to LTE again. I have to restart the phone to get it back. I've just done a hard reset and the same problem occurs. This sounds completely ridiculous and I've tried everything. Has anyone heard of anything as absurd as this?

Had the exact same problem with a Telus rom, I dont suppose you're on ATT by any chance?. Mine wouldn't connect to the mobile data network when coming off a wifi connection and would just hang in limbo until i switch mobile data on and off. Dumped it and went to a ATT based rom, problem solved. One thing I noticed is that the APN options with the telus rom are different than ATT roms, the apn type in particular
Ask in Q&A or the sticky thread for LTE
Thanks

[Q] Galaxy Nexus complete loss of Mobile Data

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2. I had installed AOKP a few months ago and it worked great. On Saturday my phone died and I didn't recharge it for about a day and when I did I couldn't get any mobile data. There are no bars at all and in the settings->Phone Status it says 'service state: out of service' however mobile network state says 'connected'. I tried reinstalling AOKP and then a few other ROMs and every time I still couldn't get service. I wiped everything and reinstalled stock 4.0.4 and the stock radios and still no luck. The system then updated me to 4.2.2 OTA and the radios are the most up to date radios I515.09.V.FK01 FK02 but still no luck.
I believe I am getting LTE because I can get emails and use GoogleChat without WiFi but I can't place any calls or send texts because (I'm guessing) CDMA is messed up for some reason.
I took it to verizon and after they fiddled with it for a while and put a new SIM card in (and did another factory reset) it still wasn't connecting. They say it is just a phone hardware issue and there is nothing they can do and since it is out of warranty I'm sol and have to buy a new phone at retail. Does anyone have any idea of something I could try to fix this? Thanks a lot for any advice
