[Req] Dialer with contacts shortcut

Hey,
I'm on rooted stock XWLPG and I'm asking for a dialer apk with contacts shortcut like the one that come with stock 4.0.4.

I don't see which shortcut you're talking about !?
The only difference between 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 contact dialer for me is the "Phone" tab" on the contact management part !?

hello Sir.. I not sure if I could do this. anyways, u must have deodexed phone.apk from a deodexed rom first b4 u could theme it like in the picture shown. not sure how to theme a odexed .apk..

No I'm still on odexed stock rom....actually i want to stay as close to stock rom as possible.. Actually I'm close to the editing of the xml's...so far i just added contact tab into the strings.xml and managed to add a png in drawables-hdpi, but i also need to add the code in drawable right??

Good stuff! Is it possible to do this the other way too, where contacts has a tab to open the dialer? In 4.0.4 both way is possible.

Thanks but it won't work on odexed roms(xwlp7 stock) and anyways I'll be probably waiting until Nov to get Stable JB on my phone which of course has dialer with contacts tab!!

According to me you have these possibilities, try this:
1) Before all backup your Rom and also contacts.apk! /I hope you have root/ Download dialer, which you want. If is for deodexed rom do this. move the .odex file from /system/app to your SD for backup. Then flash dialer.
second possibilities is:
download stock Sammy UHLPS ROM or maybe you can try also 4.0.4, extract it with 7-zip, take contacts.apk and replace your, then restart.
Try and give report.

I tried everything a long time ago but nothing seems to work i tried modifying the xml's but it won't work and system just keeps rebooting with different rom's 'contacts.apk'

Is his phone rooted?

Here you go, I have extracted it from a Galaxy Pocket ROM, transfered to my Galaxy Y to test and it seems to work well.
Apk is attached in my post.
If you're not sure what to do, here's what I did:
Transferred apk to my SD card, then used a root browsing tool and moved it to /system/app
No reboot was needed, you will immediatelly see the updated one once you add the widget.

Yes that what im looking for but... İ do what you sid in the archive but i cant install it. İt says not installed...

İm using root exlporer is that can being a problem?

All you do is replace your old one in your app folder with the one I provided, then try adding the widget like you normally do to your homescreen and it should appear with no problems.
Deos it say not installed when you try to add the widget on homescreen or are you trying to install the apk?

No no don't install it.
Just move the apk there and then try adding the widget to your homescreen, the updated one should appear without the need of rebooting.

Forget what i said to you.. İ did it... İ just make widgrt settings rw-r-- or something like that.

still the same problem

Doh, I made a copy of my clockpackage (well, renamed it), flashed the zip, and the apk is corrupt (can't be passed). I tried copying manually, but it fails. Only happens on this apk file as can copy others in fine. Now I can't get my old one back either....
EDIT: Turns out my system rom was full (only 200k remaining). I removed a couple of frozen system apps and it appeared copied fine

Why did you decide that I will make the keyboard port? I do not see anything useful in the S3 keyboard to deal with it...

Or you can also take TouchWiz30Launcher.apk from the ZIP and place it on /system/app and give right permissions using root explorer.

CAUTION :
This works only on deodexed systems! Also, make sure you have a secondary launcher in case if anything goes wrong.

Is your system deodexed?
If yes,do this :
1.Copy the apk from the zip.
2.Go to /system/app
3.Delete your TouchWiz30Launcher.apk
4.Paste the new touchwiz30launcher.apk
5.Give right permission.
6.Reboot.

That's the problem. You should have deodexed ROM in order to install it. You can deodex it by yourself. It's easy. Use xUltimate 2.3. There are many guides fpr deodexing

It will work. Follow the instructions for installing.

This archive is meant to be flashed via CWM or TWRP recovery. Not the stock one. I guess you can search the web for genuine .apk and try installing it as a usual app.
