I am needing the email application from the One X to run on my Motorola Xoom as I am finding the stock ICS email application shocking.
I also need the mat hing widget for the email.
Hope someone can help.
Anthony.

Monkey nuts!
I just can't get over how crap the stock ICS mail app is. I can't even search my inbox on my Xoom!
Currently using Enhanced Email, but it doesn't have a widget. It does however have ActiveSync & search capabilities.

FYI, K-9 has horrible Exchange support. It only fully supports Exchange versions that are almost 10 years old now (2003).

Im looking for an app that allows multi-selections on emails to mark as read, the HTC mail app on the Evo 3D allows this.
I tried to take the mail.apk from the evo but it will not install on the gs2, anyone know of an app that allows multi-selection or is it possible to get the HTC apk?
I use the email app called Enhanced Email. Not sure if it does what you want but can't hurt to check it out.
Is there anyway to get the HTC apk to work on the gs2?

Most likely not, as I believe the HTC mail app requires Rosie.apk aka the sense home.

The AOSP email does what you want. Comes built in the AOSP rom.

AOSP EMAIL (my favorite, better than HTC, con I believe you have to have AOSP rom)
Droidmail (market 2nd favorite )
K9 mail (market)
Could someone please give an idea of what the email client on the GN can do? I'm on the SGS2 at the moment and, while not perfect, the built in email client allows to search the server and control the sync via schedules.
Is the Email on the Galaxy Nexus just like the AOSP 2.3 version, are there any enhancements, does it have issues with wake locks?
TIA
I use it to connect to my exchange server at work. It seems the same as the 2.3 app except it has a white instead of black theme. I haven't noticed any other differences. And yes you can set the check frequency to your liking.

Thanks. Can it search emails that have NOT been synced to your device? And can you tell it to push Mo - Fr 07:00 - 23:00 and do manual pull the rest of the time?
TIA
Nope.
If I needed those features, i would use Touchdown.

Yes, I have bought touchdown but sadly it supports push on ONE account only which is unacceptable to me. I need to receive push emails from several businesses and would prefer not to forward them into a single mailbox....
Hey guys,
I was really wondering.. What mail app do you use?
I previously always used the Gmail app, but since I got my HoX 3 months ago I only use the mail app, because of a better ui and usability, imho.
Do you use Gmail, Mail or an other app for your mail services? Tell us and discuss why!

For my gmail account I use gmail. For my work exchange account I use HTC's Mail app. I like them both and have never tried another mail app (don't like the idea of entering my account info in a third party app).

For Gmail I use the native app.
For my personal email, I used to use K9-Mail but have now switched to MailDroid.

I love the HTC and iPhone email client, even the stock is is better but Samsung definitely sucks, do you guys know of any? Please don't say k9 the app ui is horrible it feels weird for some reason

I use maildroid. I works really well for me. I would still prefer the iPhone's mail app if I could choose because of better mail search, but maildroid is not bad at all.
Then go buy an htc.

He has a valid point. The TW email app flat sucks. He needs to switch to CM10 or AOKP because the aosp email app is so much better. He can also use root explorer and delete the TW email app and add the one from CM10. This is what I do when running a TW rom.

I've been using K-9 mail. Used to work great but in the last 6 months or so it keeps reposting deleted emails, over and over.

I personally use Touchdown for my email and the stock for my calendar and contacts. Touchdowns great, as it can sync all of my folders and not just my inbox. It's also got a unified inbox experience for all the folders.
It's a little pricey and I probably wouldn't buy it today, but I got it back at G1 launch when there aren't any other options.

So, is there any way we can install the HTC mail app on our Galaxy Nexus ? I love that mail client and i would use it on my nexus also.
I guess it requires htc sense framework, so most probably no.
If this is not possible, what is the best mail client ? The default one is horrible
K9 was a really popular one last time I needed an alternative to stock

Mail clients on Android are pretty terrible. You've either got the choice of equally bad open source clients like K-9, or ad-ridden clients like Aqua Mail or Maildroid that require a payment to get the pro version.
I stick to the default mail client because it works fine for me despite being kinda crappy.
Everything is crap. Only the HTC one was ok for me... Isnt there any way to port it ?

if you port the framework for sense, yes. otherwise i would guess no
What's wrong with the nexus default? I use both accounts and constantly get mail almost every minute on of them. Gmail is the one pissed about, its slow and unreliable most times.

The HTC one has some excellent features which you just don't get on the defaut client, like the ability to see all emails from all folders and all accounts in one pot.. That would be the main selling point for me!, is there a paid for client that can do that?

I have been using Touchdown to access my official mails (exchange server). Feature wise I think this is the best mail client on android but UI can be better.

Thanks Zepius but this doesn't let you view all emails from all selected folders, it only combines the inboxes from two or more accounts.
