Hi all,
Is it suitable to use a screen protector (e.g. Brando) with the Wildfire?
I'm wondering whether it reduces the touch screen's sensitivity, reflection , ...
What are you using?
I've got a Brando screen protector for my HTC Touch Cruise (3 years now) and I'm pretty happy about it. The protector looks pretty scratched and greasy but when I peak under it, the phone seems perfectly clear.
So what are your opinions? Thanks
I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on mine ant it`s great. The sensibility is only slightly reduced, you don`t even feel it`s there. But that depends on the type of protector you`re going to use. Mine does not interfere with the viewing angles ot luminosity/contrast. If you want to see more pictures check my blog.
My wildfire is a pretty rugged phone, i dont think it really needs screen protector. On the other hand, my htc desire wouldn't last a month without the ZAGG invisible shield, or is it maybe the desire costed me double?
I think the Zagg is good in application mine had no bubbles the next day but using Swype is a really drag ! literally too rubbery I'm afraid
Any suggestion on a good protector that works well with Swype ? I'm in UK

Ok Alex will see how I go ,only had the Zagg protector on for a couple or three days
Mine took about 10 days in order to smooth out. As long as you installed it properly, you should be fine.
I've heard good things about this Brando one which has a matte finish so no greasy finger prints or reflections. I'm thinking of getting one if I can find it for sale in £GBP
http://hemorrdroids.net had a review of one on their Youtube channel.
Try phantom skinz, can't even tell its there, and I use swype! Little expensive, worth out through!

No improvement on the Zagg screen protector and using Swype/Slideit giving it a couple more days , if there is no change ...its history
I can't see how you don't feel any difference after this much time

Zagg was fine for me the same day I applied it... Using Swype. Try pressing down harder/lighter? Either that or you're doing it wrong.

Where did you get the proporta ones from? I can't find them in the UK anywhere!
Can somebody please recommend me some good screen protectors from ebay (by posting the correct link)? I found many of them and I don't want to buy some bad ones...
i dnt think the screen protectors affect too much. mine came with my case all for $12, which is considered cheap in NZ. n it works pretty good
whatever you do don't get privacy screen protectors, the ones i tried were just a mirror finish, they look ridiculous, screwed up colours on screen, made it impossible to see anything outside, and made my sensors play up( my soft keys wouldn't light up). i'm like kevin just using cheap ones off ebay and they are fine.
Hey guys,
In excitement to receive the new S III on Verizon, I have set to search for cases, screen covers, etc. However, I happened to come across the Samsung S III C Pen in another post and was wondering what your thought were on it. Has anyone try it yet?
I'm an Animation Student in Digital Arts, and would like to use the C Pen for quick sketching on the S III.
The Samsung's link is here:

Forgive me in advance if this topic was meant to be posted in the Q&A section instead of here,

While I can't speak to the C Pen itself, my understanding is that it is just a capacitive stylus, unlike the S Pen for the note. That being the case, you will probably end up with a similar experience to other capacitive screen styli. Their quality can vary greatly but they are all just trying to replace your finger.

I don't think this is true. I saw a video (can't remember where now) that showed this C Pen in use and although it wasn't like the Note's S Pen, it wasn't like a normal stylus either. It is supposed to only work on the GS3 from what I understand and the person in the video used it on an iPhone to prove it. I ordered one yesterday. I will update this post once I get it and let you all know what I think of it.
I also have the Galaxy Note phone so I will be able to compare the 2.
i have watched one video, the only thing interested me...was that the stylus works only on S3, but no respond on iPhone.
Just wonder if it was true or not. and whats the point for that....:good::good:
I bought one last week and ended up sending it back. It looks and feels fantastic, but it didn't work that great with my screen protector installed (Zagg InvisibleShield) The surface was too "tacky" for any real precise usage. I mainly bought it for Draw Something and stuff like that. Now if you don't have a screen protector it should work perfect. Also I was under the impression that you could use it on tablets as well, going off the Amazon description that says: "Replacement for using fingers on your tablet or smartphone touchscreen" Sadly that isn't the case. I tried it on my Acer Iconia a500 tablet and my wife's Galaxy Nexus and it didn't do a thing. That's mainly my fault though for not doing research on it before hand and just going off of the Amazon description. So all that being said, if you don't have a screen protector installed or have something other than a Zagg InvisibleSHIELD, you shouldn't have an issue with it.

If it is the same as the Zagg where the screen protector is tacky, then it will probably have the same results. It would probably work better if there isn't a screen protector on there or a crystal clear one. I have a regular capacitive stylus and using it on my Transformer, you can feel a little resistance with a "tacky" protector.

The SGSIII uses a capacitive stylus. I tried my GNote stylus on the SGSIII and it does not work. The GNote can take a WACOM (Stock) stylus and a capacitive stylus and work I believe.
I do like using S Memo from my GNote to jot notes so I ordered the OEM Stylus for my SGSIII as well.

Yea I know. I also have the GNote but I also have the Wacom Intuos 5 tablet and my GNote stylus does not work on it and the Wacom stylus does not work on my GNote either. I also ordered the OEM Stylus for my SGS3. Should be here early next week. :good:
And for the OP. Your first mistake was putting a Zagg shield on your phone. I used to use them on all my phones pretty much when they were the only option but Zagg shields suck. They're tacky like you said and they discolor, turn an ugly brownish color and the corners eventually peel (quicker than most other screen protectors I've used). There are plenty of better options out there now. I, personally, choose to keep my phones naked now. :cyclops:
Noob question:
does it take batteries somehow? I would imagine the pen simulates our fingers' electroblahblah pulses somehow... right?

A wacom pen works with magnets. You can actually write though something as thick as cardboard and it will still work.

any update? how do you like it?
I got the C pen today. If you are thinking it will be close in operation to a WACOM pen or the Galaxy Note, it is not. Not even close.
The C pen is well made but the rubber tip skips along and is not smooth. I have not quite figured out the best angle for writing (I am left handed). The C pen does work for flipping screens and apps etc.
I will keep it and play with it some more, but it is really more of show off feature that is not nearly as useful as it is on the GNote. I wanted to try it because I do actually take and keep notes on my GNote. I will update if I discover anything new.
The S pen is absolutely not worth it. It doesn't work on any other devices besides the SGSIII
And it really doesn't work any better that other styli on the SGSIII. The only thing it has going for it is that it looks beautiful.
Disclaimer: Sorry for another screen protector thread but I'm sure this will help others out beside myself and I haven't seen any threads on this topic specifically.
Now for the issue. I'm currently coming from an Evo3d wrapped in an Otterbox Defender with a built in screen protector. While the screen protector is fine for normal phone use it sucks for gaming. For example games such as 9mm, Deadspace, Max Payne or any other games with virtual joysticks become unplayable. Basically the screen protector just seemed to take way too much sensitivity I think. I know it wasn't
my Evo3d because games played just fine if I took case with protector off.
So can anyone suggest a screen protector that works with gaming that they're using?

I haven't put a screen protecter on my Galaxy S3, but on my 4S I had the same problem so I switched to an HD Invisibleshield. It makes it perfect for games and I haven't had a single problem. I would highly recommend that.

Yea I def want screen protector. I had one on original Evo but got lazy on Evo3d thinking that because I'm so careful I wouldn't scratch screen. I was wrong. I didn't wind up with anything major but did get a very tiny scratch that's only visible with the screen off. I quickly learned after that.
But hey, to each his own is a good cliche here.

I feel like no one ever posts good stories and there is always a negative tone so I Wanted to post about some very sad news from last night.
I dropped my naked S3 last night from a fourth floor balcony onto large stone gravel flat on the screen.
I watched in horror as my first ever drop was definetly the last one that my phone would take. After slowing going down the stairs, and even slower picking the phone up I found it on, working, and fully funtional. There is a decent size spider webbed crack on the screen but for how far and how badly it landed I couldn't believe it.
This was the final testominate on how sick these phones really are. Like many here I am a long time Iphone switcher and I am never looking back. All the BS about samsung build quality is definetly put to rest.
As upset I am to have ****ed up this beautiful phone I am equally happy and impressed on how well it survive.
Good job Samsung. :good:
Great on you for seeing the bright side, and also, thanks for sharing.

Yea Idk how I feel about this. Other videos I've seen have made it seem almost impossible and I don't have the steadiest hands haha
Very impressive to see the extent of the damage from a 4 story drop. I would have guessed just about any phone would nearly explode from such a fall on a hard surface. You actually could very well replace the screen like mentioned above and be ok.
Takin a poll on screen protector preferences for the note 2 ,and mainly how the privacys are nice but jack up the screen quality, if not for the pesky cross lines that angle across lcd they would be ok, Seems yeda is a popular brand that presents this .... Any makers of a clearer cleaner Privacy screen protector?

Ive tried about 4 differerent privacy screen brand and all have a slight issue. Clears way to go.... unless your going to like f4p in public or are on some secret mission noone cares enough to spy on what your doing on phone.

I personally hate screen protectors in general. It totally crappifies a screen. Why don't you try going for a software solution like Screen Filter?
HAGZ Screen Barrier....might help
We make screen protectors in Southern California from HD Japanese film, but not privacy filters yet. Working on it.
They come with a 3 year warranty; don't bubble up over time. Easy to install and will not peel off. More info on our website Hagzinc. Also available on Amazon and Sears.
Thanks...

I agree. I am not a fan. I like the flip cover the Note 2 for protecting the screen while in my pocket. My wife on the other hand, puts a screen protector on her phones the minute they come out of the box. She normally gets a lot more for her phones when she sells them but oh well.
I can't go with out some form of screen protector mine has already saved a ton of scratches off mine. But the privacy ones jack things up to much .

I've not used a screen protector on all my android phones, including ones without gorilla glass. I've never had scratch issues.
Just need to dedicate one pocket specifically for phone and all other stuff in the other pocket.

Yeah, I think we might be the few. I'm super careful and also put the phone in my pocket facing me (always make sure nothing else in there). Seems to do a great job of keeping all the smudges off. ( I dont have much to begin with but) I seriously can't imagine putting anything on the beautiful screen. But I think for a lot of people who don't pay much attention to these kind of stuff, maybe the protection is worth it. Certainly beats scratches.
I just bought the new glass version from sphein 'sp' i got on a discount from 36 something and paid 21. Its not a film, its 9h hardened glass. Its the best money I have ever spent on screen protection. It really feels like going bareback.
One of the biggest plus's is you wont see single finger print, no sumges, no glare like bareback. The edges are rounded unlike my buddies glass version. His was the first I had ever felt and had to have one. I just didn't know my version had the rounded edges which makes a great deal of "feel" difference and doesn't snag in you pocket like his does. I would say if you can afford it then its atleast worth trying.

I dedicate one pocket for phone as well and have never had a scratch that my naked eye could make out. I have had quite a few Android phones over last few years as well.

Fancy pants Note ||
I don't know how people can get by dedicating a pocket just to a phone.
What about a pen and pad, smokes and lighter, gun and ammo, keys, wallet, sunglasses, knife, not to mention charging cable and adapter...and those are just basic never-leave-home without it essentials?
I love privacy protectors but haven't found one for the note 2 yet. I frequently have to report on people next to or near me and they should not be seeing what I am writing, that is between them and hr, not them and I.
I also need to make adjustments to cad drawings supplied by clients which they should not be privy to, as they are internal company documents at that point. If the client is standing right there, how else to manage that?
Frequently I have to use my MyTouch 4G Slide phone for these things since it still has a privacy protector on it.
