I was wondering if there was a way to get the touchwiz phone and contacts apk ported to aokp milestone 35. I like being able to swipe a contact to the left to call or to the right to message. I noticed rujeles(sorry if spelling is wrong) has it in the blu kuban. I'm just not a big fan of the blue themes tho. I would like to stay with aokp also because some of my live wallpapers still scroll on this rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
Edit: sorry I forgot to check the question box
You could try to push them. Just rename the old from .apk to .bak, push the one you want to system/app and fix their permissions and reboot. If you get fc on them, just go back in and delete the ones you pushed, rename the old ones back and reboot.

There is a how to thread more or less at the og epic themes section

Blu Kuban is a TWiz rom, AOKP is an AOSP rom. TWiz apps won't run on AOSP because they are framework dependent and there is no TWiz framework in an AOSP rom. However AOSP apps will run on almost any rom TWiz, Sense, Blur or otherwise because they all have the Google frameworks underlying the proprietary skins framework

Thanks for the help. I tried to push them a few days ago, but had no luck. I figured it was for the reasons Evil Konceptz had mentioned. I just thought I might get lucky because I noticed a thread for the original epic in which some dev ported a few touchwiz apps for cm7/9

So running the beta and all is great. However they decided to include the fascinate style mms.apk. I personally find the "bubble" messaging to be aweful.
Anyone that could port the 2.1 styled mms.apk to 2.2 ?

I 100% agree. I am not digging this new style at all.
Glad someone agrees with me. It looks so childish in my opinion.

Absolutely. You can take the mms.apk out of the froyo zip and put in the original one if you want, that works.

I didn't try putting it in the zip and flashing. But when I removed mms.apk and cleared dalvik/cache then pushed the Mms.apk from 2.1; however it force closed on tapping on any message/settings, etc. It did open though
Have you done this thomas? If so can you provide the Mms.apk you used?

I haven't actually done it myself, but I don't see why it wouldn't work to put it in the system/app folder of the .zip. pushing is bound to cause fc errors. Try flashing the attached .zip, it won't touch anything other than replacing the mms.apk with the 2.1 version.

Giving it a try now. Will edit with results.
And thank you Thomas. I really should get around to learning how to make flashables lol. Is there a tutorial somewhere?
EDIT:
As before. The Subtext on the Messages/Compose new message turns the orange color, but tapping ANY of them causes a FC. It must be a problem with the TW3 framework vs. the old 2.5 crap.
Try using the handcent text message app?
You can make it look like 2.1 version

I have tried handcent but personally I don't like the interface at all. I guess ill just deal with the bubbles for the time being.

Here is one that works. I Kanged it from CM6. Flash through clockwork. And YES you can change the background to black. Change it in the MMS settings

For those of you who want the AOSP MMS app then push this file to /system/app and you should have stock style CM6 MMS with the MMS notification in the TW lockscreen. This MMS apk is from CM6 modified to work with TW lockscreen from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829273
All credit goes to "untermensch"
Thank you for that. Muuuch better.

How about the opposite.... Could you make 2.2 for 2.1?

Is it possible to "transplant" an ICS lockscreen (ie from juggernaut 5.0) and install on another ROM?
I'm using MALICE now, with Eugene's new kernel. I'm tech savvy with some things but a noob with this stuff.

my lockscreen is transparent. I'm not exactly sure what's the process, but I had a picture from my gallery on there, and I flashed another ROM or something along those lines and the screen is transparent, probably because I don't have that picture anymore? not sure? You can try deleting the picture after you set it?
Sorry I don't know the exact way to do it, but it is possible.
What I did was download go launcher
Then I downloaded go locker then found the ics theme lockscreen then I set the default launcher for whichever rom I was running(don't pick go launcher). And boom ics lockscreen on the rom and you don't even have to run go luncher you just have to download it for the locker to work....probably not the way you wanted but that's probably the easiest way...ha

@teo032
I think he meant transplant not transparent. As far as making your lockscreen "transparent" goes, all you need to do is go to cwm and fix permissions, then reboot. It will remove the assigned lockscreen .jpeg file to none.
@evanladoux
Implementing a lockscreen to be built in to a rom is very long process and it requires that you understand programming fairly well.
Yea lockscreens never used to be hard, but in GB witb samsung, its a pain.
M&S
Thank you everybody for your replies.
I was looking to get a built in lockscreen rather than Go Locker, which is what I just went with.
I was hoping it might be as easy as unzipping a ROM, & rename/copy/paste a few files into the DD folders.
Its fine until we have a fully functional TMO ICS. I use Wifi Calling a LOT, so, the current batch of ICS ROMs won't work for me as a DD, though I appreciate all the dev's work to provide (ie M&S .. too many to list)

I'm just wondering if this is possible love the CM10 browser

Generally aosp stays there; best thing to do is to rip the apk from an aosp rom, then manually push it to the system and set permissions; go for it bro.
I have searched hi and low and can not find any info. I am sure I am not alone in my quest. Is there a way to have the touchwiz calendar while running aosp rom's. Love how smooth cm10 runs but really love the stock calendar. Also in the dialer and messaging being able to swipe right for a call or left for text.
I have seen themes for the t-mobile s3 that works with cm10, but nothing for sprint.
Anyone?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
For the calendar, you can try pulling the apk from touchwiz ROM and then installing it on cm10. But I think it is like the swiping feature, hey are both touchwiz only because they require the touchwiz framework.

I think in themes and apps theres a pack with touchwiz themed apps...but like Whiplashh said, you wont ever be able to get the exact same TW anything on a AOSP rom because it requires the TW framework, and thats spread out over a couple different places and files
My best suggestion for you is to flash a TW rom and theme it like AOSP
Thanks guys. That is what I thought. I can live with out the swiping in TW but I really like the UI of the Calendar as the google Cal works, but just not the same experience. I looked through the theme section but could not find a TW Calendar theme. If anyone comes across it, please let me know.
Thanks for the replies.
So I have managed to replace the TW MMS with AOSP just fine. I would like the AOSP Dialer and Contacts app if it is safe to install over the touchwiz ones. The Camera seems to work fine and MMS don't cause force closes for me.
Also if anyone has the Touchwiz ones in case I break something, I'd love those as well.

Nit sure if it will work but to back up your files just rename the contacts.apk and dialer.apk to contacts.apk.bak and dialer.apk.bak and then rename them back to original if you mess up. Also this is in the wrong forums as this is not an app or theme so should go in the qna section since it is more of a question.
