Anyone who use Chrome to Phone have issues getting Google Maps sent from laptop to open with the Maps app on my phone
Anytime I send it from my laptop it wants to open the directions in a browser
I cant remember when I used it last but I used to be able to open the links directly in my Maps app
It could have been when had the HTC Desire and not my Galaxy Nexus
clear defaults in browser/maps and try again? might have accidentally selected the browser as the default app for Maps links.
and clear cache and data for Chrome to Phone too. i just tried it and it automatically opens maps for me, doesnt even give me the option to pic browser.

I cleared default settings in the original Nexus browser but when I send links from Maps on my laptop it still just prompts me to choose which browser I want to open the link with
I dont get to choose Maps, just get to choose one of my 4 browsers
I have just noted that if I try and send directions from maps.google.ie on my laptop it will only open in a browser. If I send directions from maps.google.com then I can open them in Google Maps

When I use the Google Search app, I just want to type a few letters and find whatever app/contact/etc I want to find. I hate having the history shown every time I search for something. Is there anyway to disable it completely?
I want to know this this also

Go to the Market and get an app called HistoryEraser. Cleans up a lot of other cached stuff too.
Disable google search history online
I occasionally clear and turn off or on my search history in my google settings. This can be done through mobile device's browser, or on PC. Launch browser and log onto your google (you can start through gmail, for example) account through any PC browser. Go to your google settings and clear all or whatever search history you want, and you can set history to "off" if you want. When you launch your browser on any other device PC, phone, whatever) log onto google account again immediately and you should see that your browsing with same history settings continues regardless of device used, until you specify new change.
Final detail: After setting your account preferences for history I'm not sure how this would work in non-stock browser if you're not logged onto your google account.
The "Browser" is retarded slow at connecting to the internet. It's as if I were on dial up even if I'm on WiFi. What gives? Once it connects to a page after literally 2 minutes, then it is somewhat okay. All my other apps that use internet are fast expect the google search app only because it uses the browser to load pages. If I just use FireFox instead as my browswer, its fast as lighting. I love the google app, but there is no way to default it to use Firefox as my default browser. Or can I? How can I get my factory browser to be normal?

Hadn't noticed this at all... can you provide additional details?
What ROM (or Android version) are you running?
Have you tried clearing cache/data for the browser app?
You can set any browser as default... Usually when you install a new browser the start using it you will be asked if you want it to be the default. If not, try this:
1) hit Menu then go to Settings > Apps > All
2) Click 'Browser', then click 'Clear Defaults'
3) attempt to open a web link from anywhere- even from within the stock browser. You'll be prompted asking which browser you want to use, and whether you want that browser to become your default.
I'm rooted on the stock ROM. I'm still on the original version too. It looked way too hard to update it. I didn't know how to do what you said until you told me. I got it and cleared everything. The stock one runs better now and I was able change my default browser also! Thanks! It was Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage apps > All > Browser
Ok I know to clear data from an app such as Google maps it should be Settings > Apps > Maps > Clear data but this just doesn't clear my Google maps search history.
It's very annoying I have 6 searched places in my search that I just can't get rid of. I have even re-flashed fresh my ROM being Android Revolution HD and the search history from previous is still there.
Has anyone come across this or know of a solution?
Log in to google maps on your computer with the same account on your phone.
Click on my places and it should come up with a list of where you searched. Click on the little arrow next to the place and then hit delete.
Once your done go into settings and sync your google account on your phone and it will get rid of the places.
Hope it helps

Hi thanks but I logged into my Google maps from the same account from a desktop and none of the places in my Google maps search history were showing. All the same I deleted my history from Google maps from my desktop and synchronized but the history is still showing on my HTC One X.
I now have disabled Google search from my desktop and synchronized again and still the same history is showing on my HTC One X.
Its as if the search history is permanent on my HTC One X.
Would there be any specific file on my HTC One X that I could possibly delete with say root explorer where it could be remembering maps search history from???

It worked for me. I dont use google desktop.
The only other thing i can suggest is that you download history eraser and try to clear it that way.

I just tried with history eraser even that didn't work hmmm.
Something I notice is when logged into Google maps on a desktop in the search bar I can see these searches when clicking on the grey arrow on the right but going into delete history and clearing all doesn't get rid of them maybe this is a Google bug? I have also cleaned my desktop browser's with Ccleaner but these searches are still there in Google maps.
Edit: Just further to say I have tried Chrome in Incognito mode and the searches still appear so this can't be a browser cache or cookies issue. Really not sure how to resolve this....

Sorry im out of ideas. Maybe contact google if they can help.
It was Google - after clearing history from desktop it appears to take time before everything is erased even after syncing from phone.
Now those pesky searches that I couldn't get rid of have magically disappeared
Nice one
Ok so the facebook ap stopped working on my s2 HD LTE. I think since they started the photo sync, my phone won't load any pictures at all not even the little contact pics. Curiously the phone will still upload photos I just can't see them unless I go onto my laptop after to view. I have tried uninstalling then re-installing the ap, using an older APK version of the ap, signing out and back in, changing my password, and clearing the cache and temp files. Also using alternative aps which log in with the mobile site. nothing is working. And when I try signing in with other aps or through my cell's browser It just refreshes and takes me back to the log in screen, Help please much appreciated
Try clearing the data and log in again or use better Alternatives like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abewy.klyph_beta
Edit :Try Removing the fb account from settings->account, and create it again.
Edit:Your browser also has this problem? Are you using a firewall app? Or something that modifies the iptables? Or it can be one of your background apps causing the problem.

generally, the S2 after jellybean update got a bit laggy and slower
anyways , here are some things to try:
1) go to the application manager in settings and find facebook there and clear data then Force stop it
2) go into recovery mode and clear cache and dalvik cache
3) try on another internet connection ( wifi or mobile internet )
Anyone know why this keeps happening when I try to open an article from my Google now feed?
Happens to me too. Sometimes it works by closing it and trying again but most times nothing.
I am getting the same issue as well!

Google didn't have the Storage enabled, and Chrome didn't have the Microphone or Contacts enabled. I switched on the storage permission, and I think it fixed it.
Well I thought it was fixed but still encountering the issue. When I click on a link in Google Now it flashes an error page then goes blank.
This is the error page I get.

Yes did that but it still happens.
Did you by any chance delete Chrome from System\app then install from the Play Store? I was having a similar issue with multiple apps and it seemed to be a problem with the Play Store version of Web View. With Chrome back in System\app it isn't happening anymore.
